Soti Surf will not function

we are trying to switch over from the webroot browser to the SOTI Surf browser.  It is installed on the tablet (Samsung Tab 2   4.1.2OS).  I have created a separate profile adding the soti surf app in Mobi Control.  When you try and access Surf it opens and immediately closes.

Not a callout, but how did you source the Surf apk? Could it be a conflict in OS/API if it came from a different device?

It would be nice if the apk was able to be distributed from MobiControl by design versus Play Store.

Android 4.1.2 is very very old firmware and many new apps are  targeted to run on newer version/API.  What are your Soti Surf version and build numbers?

Play Store was the source.

14.1.0 build 58

Hi Brent,

How often does this happen?  Does it happen every time you try to use Soti Surf and on every device?  I looked at the Playstore version of Soti Surf and it does specify that it should work with your version of Android.  I have attached a screen shot of it below.

Please confirm you also have the removed the Webroot application from your device.   I would also try to send a script (wipeapplication <package_name>) to remove the application data from the device to ensure there isn't any conflicts with webroot remaining.

Not sure if this will work but it's worth a try.

Brent,

I have about 10k devices running 4.1.2 with Soti Surf, I am using Surf Version 13.4.0 Build 307 without any issues.
