How to customise the home screen without using lockdown?

I have a enterprise full of Samsung Tab A (2019) which i want to create a standard image for these. I have managed to deploy the programs i want through Managed Store, I have deleted some programs that i don't want using App Control.

Now my question is that the apps i have installed don't seem to create a shortcut but only sit in the apps screen when you swipe up.

is there a setting im missing in the store ?

Is there a script i can use to make these shortcuts if not ?

Take a look into the account settings (not on the device but the one you used for the managed playstore) there should be a setting which says something like install shortcuts on homescreen yes or no.

But be sure that the apps are installed via managed playstore but not via profile/package. Otherwise there won't be a shortcut created. Then you have to upload those apps to the managed playstore as private apps and provide them via app ppolicy to the devices.

I haven't seen any script be able doing that.
