Nightly Maintenance Routines Occupies 100 % Processing power for Hours

Hi,

We are on MobiControl v. 13.4.0.4167.

We have lately experienced that the nightly maintaince (we believe it is that as this starts from midnight) are using 100 % CPU power for some hours (up to 6 hours).

How do we get more information about what is causing this high level of CPU processing for an extensive period of time.

Has somebody else experienced the same and found a solution?

Searching thought the forum, I did not find anything.

Thanks for helping!

Regards

Dan

What process(es) is/are consuming the CPU?  TaskMgr/procmon/process explorer output?

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the post!

Did you have any changes/upgrades done on your server recently?

Do you have a data collection/file sync rule running on your web-console? If there are any, then we may troubleshoot it to check why it takes longer time to complete.

Hi,

We have a lot of file sync rules, like + 500.

No recent upgrades have been made, so it should not be related to that.

HI Scott,

Unfortunately I do not know that.

I do not have monitoring on that lever, but on the overall processing comsumption.

Another note is that.

Sometimes it takes 1 hour to process this

Sometimes it takes 4 hours

Sometimes it takes 8 hours

Last night it only took 1 hour, there is no real pattern.

It is the SQL process that takes the CPU.

We tried tracing for long / slow SQL Queries but do not get any results.

Thanks for providing the clear information Dan. The file sync rules are causing the delay on Nightly maintenance. You can reach out to SOTI Support via case(click here) or call (click here) to manage this better. They will check the server back-end and provide the right solution for you.
