Error Sending Check-In

JP

Recently we have had trouble sending certain commands to our handhelds. One of the most common ones we have seen is the error message below when sending the Check-in Command.

ERROR

Error sending the Check-in action to 1 device(s).

When I go to the logs for this device, it shows the request for the Check-in but does not show it as resolved on the next line like it would when it normally works.

Is this a known issue? Further details below:

Hi James,

Check-in error may occasionally happen due to network related error (e.g. delay due to heavy traffic, device connection quality/stability, etc.) even for a properly installed system.  The main issues  are how often does this happen and the percentage/pattern of devices affected.

To understand what caused the error in your case, I think you should first look into the various server log files  (DS, DSE, MS) to get more details.  It is possible that you have to re-do the test after setting the log levels of such log files to 'information' or "verbose" in order to get more details recorded.

Hi James,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse and thanks Raymond for responding to the post.

Raymond answer has many details which we can provide you.

If that continues happing, I would suggest creating a support case, so we can analyze the logs and troubleshoot it further.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
