Google Play Account Activation Failure After Android 14 Upgrade on Zebra CC6000

Hello !

I have Zebra CC6000 devices running Android 10, enrolled in SOTI for a long time without any issues.

I need to upgrade them to Android 14, so I created a profile in SOTI with the Android 14 upgrade file, and the upgrade was successful.

However, regarding Android Enterprise, the Android Identity status remains Account Activation Pending in MobiControl, and on the device, there is a message:

Google Play Account: Account creation failed, trying again automatically...

I tried to perform an Account Reset via MobiControl without success.

I have hundreds of devices to upgrade, and this problem is causing me a lot of trouble.

Does anyone have an idea on how to resolve this issue after upgrading to Android 14?

Follow up questions

  • Did the devices have Google Play service accounts prior to the upgrade to A14?
  • Do the devices have network access to Google Play from the production WiFi network they're connected to? A simple explanation could be that they don't have access to Google Play in order to retrieve a MGPA service account. 
  • What version of SOTI Agents are on the device(s)? I recommend upgrading the agents prior to the A14 upgrade, and not the other way around. I've been using 2024.x+ minimum in my A14 upgraded environments.

Hello Matt!

You were right, the problem was due to my production Wi-Fi, which doesn't have access to Google !

I tested it on my staging Wi-Fi, and it worked !
