Remove Android Pin during OS Update on CK65

Hi all,

So I am currently working on updating our Honeywell CK65's OS versions with zero touch for end users. My issue is that when the device updates you are required to put an Android Pin when the device turns back on.

Is there a script to bypass the need of putting the pin in?

Thank you

Hi Gabriel,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse!

That usually happens if a device has been doing a downgrade without an enterprise reset after. Honeywell has had quite a lot of problems with their kernels so sometimes an upgrade will be considered as a downgrade instead. In 15.1 it was introduced to run or send action to reset pin for secure boot via sending it through the platform instead.

But otherwise you can run a script like 'resetpassword [blank] bypass_secure_startup' and let us know if it works for you and mark the post as solution that resolved the issue you had.

Kind regards,

I don't know a way to get around this, I only know that for one specific manufacturer it's bypassed.

The Mobicontrol inbuild Zebra FOTA feature for example, seem to bypass this.
After the update is ready it boots up without request for a pin.

But for all other manufacturers i don't know about such functionality.
Maybe take a look into the OEM config app of Honeywell, if they provide a setting for that and if not maybe ask them if there's a possibility to add such option.
