Unable to Zoom In or Out on Webpages in SOTI Surf

Users are unable to zoom in (pinch-to-zoom or double-tap zoom) when browsing websites through the SOTI Surf browser.

Any SOTI Mobicontrol environment.

This behavior may occur due to one or both of the following reasons:

• Zoom gestures (multi-touch) are disabled on the device.

• Text scaling is set too low to visibly recognize zoom behavior.

1. Navigate to the SOTI Surf Profile:

• Open the SOTI MobiControl Web Console.
• Open the SOTI Surf configuration profile under the SOTI Apps section.

2. Adjust the Following Settings Under General:

• Enable Zoom Gestures
• Set Browser Zoom Level to 100%
• Set Text Scaling to 200%


 


3. Optional – Send Script via SOTI MobiControl:

If you'd prefer to change the zoom level setting via scripting, use the following script: 

sendinfo net.soti.action.surf BROWSERZOOMLEVEL 100

• If zoom still does not work, test the gesture in Google Chrome to verify whether the issue is with the device or specific to SOTI Surf.

• Not all websites allow zoom due to HTML viewport restrictions set by the site itself.
