Troubleshooting Remote Control on Zebra Devices

Users may encounter issues using remote control feature on Zebra devices due to the presence of the Zebra plugin. The following steps describe how to uninstall the plugin and validate that the remote control feature is restored.

Zebra Android 13 devices and later. 

• Inability to establish a remote control connection.
• Failure to remote control Zebra devices.
• Error messages indicating a lack of access or connection issues.

Ensure all plugins installed on the device are compatible with the Android version being used. Enterprise customers may contact their TAM for further technical guidance.

NOTE: Test it on one test device before applying on production fleet.

1. Log into the SOTI MobiControl web console.

2. Navigate to the device information panel.

3. Select the Applications tab.

4. Confirm if the Zebra plugin (net.soti.mobicontrol.androidplus.zebra) is listed among the installed applications.

5. If confirmed, use the following script to uninstall the plugin:

uninstall net.soti.mobicontrol.androidplus.zebra

6. Once the plugin is removed, test the remote control functionality to check if it has been restored.

It is recommended to document any changes made during troubleshooting for future reference. If issues persist after following these steps, further investigation and updates to software or plugins may be required.
