Hello In Android 7 devices, we had to set Mobicontrol to foregroundmode enable so the system does not kill the process when it goes to suspend mode. It works fine, but in the lock screen there is always a notification that lets the user access the Mobicontrol app where he may disconnect the device. Is there any way to avoid that notification in lock screen or do not allow user to disconnect device in Mobicontrol app?
Hi, I have set up a configuration for Android for Work devices in Kiosk mode. My problem comes when I have to upgrade the version of one of the apps in the kiosk, the app is not in the Google Playstore so i need to enable "unknown sources", then the app basically downloads an apk with the new release and installs. The apk downloads ok, but it gets stuck while installing. I wonder it hungs becasue it is in kiosk mode. So I have tried the same configuration but with no kiosk and the app is updated with no problem. My question is, do you know if this scenario I want to achieve is feasible (Kiosk mode + update app from unknown sources)? Thanks
We recently downgraded a number of Zebra WT6000s running N back to L and re-enrolled the devices back into the same MobiControl instance as part of that process. The devices were not deleted from the inventory during the process and seemed to, for the most part, reconnect to the MC server just fine. There are a portion of the devices however that are showing up in a Non-Compliant status which is now seemingly preventing them from receiving their full configuration. How can I clear out or get rid of this Non-Compliant status. The Help guide goes into some minor detail on what Non-Compliant could mean, but does not provide any help on what you can do to address this. Other details: - Zebra WT6000 - Android L, 5.1.1 (downgrade from N) - Android+, DA - Agent 13.5.0.1677 - MC 14.1.7 (now), upgraded from MC14.1.0 when we first saw the issue. Still persists after the upgrade
Hi, I have setup a soti-surf profile with only a home page defined (bbc.co.uk). When I push this to a device Soti-surf opens and natigates to the home page (bbc.co.uk) If I then update the profile to enable the ERG but have no domains listed, Soti-surf fails to open and displays the error - 'Please try again later or contact your administrator for assistance'. I was under the impression that the ERG would only be used for the domains listed in the profile, therefore, if there are no domains listed usual connectivity would continue. Am I mistaken or what have I missed? If I'm correct in my thought process, do we have a problem with the MobiControl installation? Thanks
I read today that SOTI is discontinuing Android 4.2 support in new agents. Does this mean if we install new MobiControl versions that these devices will automatically stay on a compatible agent or will these devices be marked as "Agent outdated" and be forever not able to be updated? We have a large amount enterprise Zebra devices at this Android level!
Hi, I have some devices that return this error when installing (mainly one) package , majority of the devices have installed without a problem. All the error says is "Failed to Install (File I/O Error)". I found a simular case in the forum, but he had Google Play Protect enabled. All the devices have the same settings so don't see that being the case here. And the main offending package is for Google Play Services. Where would I look to find more information on this error? Gary
The customer has a Huawei device that has Lockdown applied to it, and the Lockdown Template is customized. When they tap on the back button and recent activity button a couple of times, they get a Notification from Smart Recovery that says it needs to uninstall MobiControl.
I've recently upgraded MobiControl to v14.1 and have also installed SOTI Assist so that I am able to remote control onto Android devices which are enrolled with MobiControl. When viewing the device details on MobiControl the remote control option is not shown at all. I've also contacted SOTI and was told to try sending the following script to the device: _resetfailedrcdetectionflag restartagent This did not resolve the issue, I am still not able to remote control any of the Android devices I have enrolled. I also have a range of HHT devices enrolled, I am able to use SOTI Assist Remote Control with these devices but not with Android tablets. What else do I need to do to be able to control the Android devices remotely?
Hi everybody! is there a way to register or a way to capture the settings for a Zebra Android device (nougat)? like a Zebra windows based REMCAPTURE i would like to take a Android device and modify base system setting and then "push" the settings to the rest of my android devices, in order to avoid manual setting one by one
I've just noticed that application stays on device after being removed from profile. Is it expected behavior or I've messed up with profile configuration (didn't increment version) ?
Wondering please is there a list of variables that we can use in script like %IP% or %Devicename% is there a list of all other variables

Hi, We installed Mobicontrol V14.1.4 on our production server. All the statuses on the MCAU are green. However, the devices aren't being enrolled successfuly. We have the error "SSL handshake failed" as shown in the screenshot below. The android devices are connected to a local network without internet access. The mobicontrol server is on the same network but has internet access. We enrolled the devices with the mcsetup.ini file. The devices aren't shown in the device tree in the mobicontrol console. Can you help me? Thanks,
Hello, I was wondering if anyone on the forum had success re-enrolling devices using a script in order to rename the devices. We started enrolling some new Android barcode scanners and went about our testing and now we need to get them all to use the same naming convention: A%AUTONUM% We have 80 devices and I would prefer to not have to manually change the device names on each and everyone. Thanks, Patrick
Is it possible to add a username and password to the UNC utilized in Content Library? I've attempted to utilize the \\server\Shared\file.docx,u=user,p=password syntax from https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.1/en/console/reference/dialogs/rules/filesync/linux/filesync_filescard_linux.html along with \\server\share /user:test testpassword that was provided to me via SOTI support from https://serverfault.com/questions/580369/windows-shares-via-command-line-with-user-pass-without-mapping-the-drive however, as soon as I go to insert anything outside of the UNC it give an error “Must be a valid file path”. The only way I've successfully tested the Content Library is on a share that is wide open, but unfortunately that is not an option. Current SOTI version: 13.4.0.4591
