Hi, I am looking for documentation on using the application configuration schema to configure applications on android. As I understand it, this can be used to query the available configuration settings on a given application in the play store. It can then be used to push those settings along with an apk install. Is there documentation available regarding the requirements to make this happen and walk me through an example of this? Thanks, Shawn
Hi, Is possible to set user prompt to accept remote connection on Android+ device? right now it's just connects automatically on the Samsung devices.
We have about 200 Acer Tablets (Android) being used as time clocks throughout our organization. The time clock company may have to make changes on the server from time to time and it requires the browser to be refreshed. We have Soti Surf locked down so the user basically can't do anything. Using 14.1 version of Soti. The clocks are basically useless until the website is refreshed so they've been instructed to reboot the clock manually. This is difficult because of the height and the type of mount we are using. I can send a soft reset to these but I believe I need to wait until the clock goes active. If this is true, it makes it difficult to send multiple clocks the same command. Does anyone have any recommendation on how I can go about doing this? I contacted Soti and they instructed me to try sending a script with the kill_application command and the device doesn't support this command. Ideally - I'd like to have them walk up to the unit, if it presents them with an error, they can refresh and not have to call anyone. If this can't be done, what's the next easiest method to address 200 or so tablets next time we have an issue (hasn't happened in 2 months but twice today) Thank you in advance.
We have a Samsung S8 that fail to finish enrolling due to Mobicontrol crashing, we then deleted the phone from the server. However the mobicontrol app just keeps crashing on the phone. We can't factory reset from the phone setting due to policy and we can't manage the phone either from Mobicontrol server. right now, the phone is basically unusable for us. anything else we can try? thanks,
Any doing anything with device side scripts? It appears you can't set any variables. Attempting it returns "Script command is not supported by device (set)". Given that, you have almost 0 ability to use "if". No conditionals make the script utility almost worthless. Anyone using it conditionally?
How can I disable location tracking for Android+ devices? I have a handful of BYOD Android users and I really have no need to track them. Thanks!
MobiControl Server v14.1 It appears Feature Control works exactly the opposite of how I would like with regards to layering. I would like to disable/deny most all features in a default profile at the top level and then selectively allow certain features at lower group levels with a different profile. Unfortunately, if you disable a feature at a higher level there is no way to enable it at a lower one. This makes managing feature control horribly cumbersome. Ex, I have to leave "Disable Camera" unchecked at the top level and then check it in every other profile group except the one group that can use the camera. What would be better (for me) is to have the options be "ENABLE X" rather than "DISABLE X". That way, I only have to create different Feature Control settings in lower groups that need a certain feature enabled. Is this an issue for anyone else? Am I missing something easier? How is everyone else managing features from a "Deny first, allow later" standpoint? Thanks
Hi, I need to set up an UNITECH EA600 device with SOTI MobiControl. So I've try to install the following agent that I have download from soti.oem but no one works. UNITECH EA600 agent v13.3.2 UNITECH v13.0.0 UNITECH v13.3.0 UNITECH v13.3.1 UNITECH v13.3.2 UNITECH v13.3.3 UNITECH v12.4.0 Is there a functional agent that works with Unitech EA600 ? Thanks Regards
We will be using the Galaxy S8 with OS v8 (Oreo). We are running SOTI Server v13.4 and Android plus Agent 13.5. After I download the agent and install it, it crashes. Will a new Agent fix this, if so when will it come out?
Good Morning everyone. MobiControl I am using MobiControl v13.4. The used devices are Huawei Mate 9 Lite. Situation We have 2 Wifi Network in the company: WiFi Int: It has internet connection. WiFi Corp: It is a internal network. We enroll devices using the .apk and .ini while connected Wifi Int, but after the enrollment whe want the device to forget Wifi Int and automatically connect to WiFi Corp. We configured a profile that includes WiFi Corp, but it keeps connected to WiFi Int if we dont disconnect it manually. Thanks in advance, Maximiliano.
We are having an issue where many of our Panasonic FZ-A2 Android devices keep disconnecting every few minutes, then reconnecting a few minutes later. The devices are connecting to the network via 4G LTE connections, not via WiFi. Accordingly, in the device log they are showing "Device disconnected", and then a few minutes later showing "Device connected". I am suspecting this is an issue with the 4G connection, and possibly even the SIM card. However, the amount of devices having this error leads me to question if something else is going on. The disconnecting of the devices is causing some issues with some of the real-time apps running on them. If anyone has any suggestions on where to look next or preferably a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I have an Android tablet that is in a continuous reboot cycle. Every time I power on the tablet, it will boot up normally until it starts to launch MobiControl, at which point the tablet restarts and then gets stuck in that cycle. I think this tablet was connected to a dev Mobi instance that is no longer online when I was testing an upgrade process. How can I interrupt this process as we have a tablet that is rendered useless at this point. Thanks
Hi everybody. On one of our MobiControl environments we experience the problem that HTML5-RemoteControl is not working while the RC-FullClient does. I know that the way of communication between these two possibilities is slightly different. Can anybody explain how communication works with HTML5-RC between Management-Server, Deployment-Server, workstation and mobile device? Thank you very much!
I came across a previous conversation regarding the 'watchsettings on' script within MobiControl, however I have a question on how to send a script to an Android 6.0.1 device where the setting is defined as 'global'. Does anyone know the correct format for changing values within the //settings/global range, for example Bluetooth or WIFI?
