Hi, currently i am setting WIFI profile for my client, they want their device to connect automatically to their WIFI, but they didn't want to broadcast the SSID. Is there any option in SOTI to connect to SSID even not broadcast? Thanks & regards, Randy Saputra
Hi, Is it possible to change the Network Device Name Of Android Device (Zebra TC21) with Soti Mobicontrol ? this is for the device to be recognized for network printing.
Hello all, I got an interesting question from one of my customers. He has Android devices enrolled in MobiControl with Androd Enterprise as Work Managed Devices. He wants to change the host file on the device. The location is /system/etc and the file is named hosts. You are able to get this file with the following adb command: adb pull /system/etc/hosts destination-path. If I want to push the edited file back via adb, you need root on the device. If I want to push the edited file via SOTI Package, it seems that the file never get copied to the device but the profile and package is shown installed in the MobiControl console. Does anyone have experience in this topic? Am I able to push a file via SOTI Package to the system folder? Do I need root rights? Is it possible to get root for SOTI? Would you recommend it? Thank you in advance. - Felix
We have a few Android 10 devices (Motorola Moto G8 Power) and trying to use the Remote View resulted in the device displaying an "Exposing sensitive info during casting/recording... Cancel/Start now" confirmation dialog which is a new feature in Android 10 as discussed on Google support forum: https://support.google.com/android/thread/13791498?hl=en We've found a workaround by applying an ADB command via USB debugging, found e.g. on Stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/63039084/android-stop-permission-promt-for-screen-recording For MobiControl it's: adb shell appops set net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork PROJECT_MEDIA allow I'd be happy to hear about more elegant solutions than enabling Developer more and USB Debugging on each device and applying this manually device by device. I haven't installed any device specific plug-ins. (As found at https://docs.soti.net/mobicontrolagentdownloads/) I see there's a "Lenovo ARM" one which probably would be the right one. The devices are in Android Enterprise mode and will run a kiosk mode once delivered to end users.

I have tried below two ways : Device File / Folder Name: %sdcard%/Download/ ; Server File / Folder Name : %ROOT%\test\text.ini Device File / Folder Name: %sdcard%/Download/ ; Server File / Folder Name : C:\test\ Android 9 Agent Version : 14.4.6 Build 1001 SOTI Mobicontrol : 15.3.0.6711
Hello, I am testing v15.3 before deploying it in our environment. It appears that the ability to download the mcsetup.ini file no longer exists for Android devices. Any ideas? Installation Server: On Premise, Non-Internet Facing (outbound to Internet allowed, Not visible from Internet) Version: v15.3.0.6713 Device: Zebra TC77 OS: Oreo (8.1) Management Model: Android Enterprise Provisioning Method: Zebra StageNow - APK installation How do I get the McSetup.ini file to use for this installation. Our current version provides an option to download the INI file as part of setting up the Add Device Rule. This option appears to no longer be available. Thanks Jim
Hi! I've added Powerapps application in my lockdown screen however whenever I click on it, it redirects into the Mobicontrol Device Configuration screen. First, I installed it into the device using Application Catalog, same result. Then I installed it using an apk (but I don't really want to use apk in the future), same result. I added the apk to the lockdown profile as a package, still same result. If in ADMIN mode, the app loads fine without issues. Is there any way around this? It seems there's some kind of permission or something that's blocking the app.
Hi Team, How can i enable a custom image, because i tried this for a shortcut in lockdown mode. But it won't show me an image that i selectedI navigate to Lockdown > Add Home Screen Items Enable Use Custom Image and save everything but i see no changes on the PDA in lockdown mode.
Hello Guys, I have a little problem with Android devices with Oreo and above. I need access to the folder /sdcard/usr/enterprise. Do you have any ideas how can I copy or transfer a file into this direction? I have no access in a direct way. Is there any way to transfer this file or getting access to this direction? Would be a pleasure if you can solve my problem :)
We are trying to create some tablets that's only for playing a certain video. I added Movie://sourcefolder/filename.mp4 but, it just gives a black screen. Can I ask for some help? Also don't know how to set up a file sync rule in cloud server from server to device. How should i declare the source file? MobiControl Version: 14.4.5.1048 Thanks!
I have a multiple button lockdown on a Honeywell EDA51 and one of the buttons opens the camera using Launch://net.sourceforge.opencamera. When using Downloadable Plugin (Legacy) for RC and the camera button is pressed the RC screen goes horizontal. Once finished with the camera and back on the lockdown the RC screen stays horizontal but the lockdown reverts to vertical so half the screen can no longer be seen. Very strange behaviour!!
Hello, i'm trying to configure email settings via profile for a static office 365 account. According to Microsoft documentation, the smtp server must use STARTTLS. In MobiControl there is only SSL or TLS and no STARTTLS option otherwise I have to manually edit each configuration. Is there any script to send in order to force the usage of this Security Type. I'm on MobiControl v 15.3 Thanks in advance Daniele
Hi, I have two devices (MC93 and TC26), in my rule for adding device, I have set it to %MODEL%-%MAC%-%SERIALNUM% But I faced an issue with the TC26 where it is not showing the serial number in the device name (MC93 is working fine). MC93-78b8d60765ad-20093522506180 TC26-78b8d633586a- But hardware serial number is available in TC26 once I checked in the device details. Kindly see the details below of the device: MC93-Android 8.1.0-Agent 14.4.6.1001 TC26-Android 10-Agent 14.4.6.1001 MobiControl Version: 15.2.4.1138 Please advise. Thank you, Vincent
Mobicontrol Cloud v. 14.3.2.1171 Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Android 10 enrolled in Android Enterprise Agent version 14.4.6.1001 When I connect to a device remotely, via Web or Legacy remote control, mouse clicks register above the actual location where I am clicking. For example, in Settings if I click the topmost menu item, Connections, nothing happens but if I click the fourth one down, Display, the Connections menu will open. If I click the 6th item, Lock Screen, the second menu, Sounds and vibration will open. Some time ago there was a remote control issue on Samsung devices where SOTI support had us manually change the x,y resolution due to weird stretching aspect ration stuff but now the image in remote is fine but the x,y placement of the cursor on-screen in the rmeote window is not matching the correct coordinates on the device. Any ideas?
I believe I know the answer to my question but if you dont ask... I may be inheriting some Android devices that are controlled by a different MDM provider and I would want to enrol them onto MobiControl as Android Enterprise Is there any way we can do this without wiping the devices and starting afresh?
