Hi everyone, Recently i tried to send script via Package to desktop/laptop running on Wins 10 Pro (Enroll to SOTI with Windows Modern Agent). One script I try to send is Turnoff firewall script. The script will running only if run it as administrator. How to do that with SOTI? if i send the script through package, the script just only show up at the device but the user need to right click on it and run it as admin to execute the script. Hope someone can give an insight. Thanks & regards, Randy
Are there any Agents available for Vocollect voice units? We have all our RFs from multiple vendors loaded in SOTI, and would like to get our A730 voice devices visible in SOTI as well to have a single source of information of all our client hardware out on the warehouse floor. I have asked Honeywell about this a few times but have never received a response. If a device-specific Agent does not exist, is there a generic Windows CE 7 Agent that can be installed on these units? Our server is currently version 13.4.0.4339, but I believe discussions have started on planning our upgrade to version 14.
Hello, i observed scripts run through mobicontrol client always get executed as the current logged in user in the windows desktop classic environment. Is there anything i can do to execute a script or shellexecute a batch as different user or admin? As an example i want to run a batch as admin with a mobicontrol script: shellexecute C:\test\test.cmd -openThe only other solution would be the run everything else as Admin with Autologin, but i am feeling a bit unsecure about that as previlege escalation under a windows admin account can be really concerning...Has anyone a solution for this?

Am I able to set up custom Windows classic applications on a Windows 10 laptop? If so, how would I set one up correctly?
We are having a problem restricting any UWP application for Windows Modern using the Application Run Control rule. Our intent is to block Microsoft Edge using this profile but no matter what Windows Modern App I restrict, it does not reflect on the devices. I have confirmed that the profile is getting installed on the devices and I have tried this on multiple devices. I have also manually created an App Locker Group Policy Rule using the same information I am inputting in SOTI which does end up restricting Edge as intended. I also ensured that the version of Edge falls within the Min and Max configured in SOTI. I do have the profile set to "Enforce" and I am able to restrict .exe applications in the same profile. It appears that only UWP (or modern) apps will not restrict. I also ensured that an Authentication Policy is active in the same profile. I have pulled the information for Edge using get-appxpackage Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge command in Powershell. We are running v14.4.0.4857 but I have also tested this in an environment running v15.0.0.6019 Thank you
i'm using 14.4.1.1195 webconsole. i have a device subgroup. how do i drag it out of it's parent group to make it a parent group? i'm just not sure where to actually drop it to achieve this. tia.
Hello Guys, so under enrollment rules and device agent manager you can download mcsetup.ini, my question now is how exactly do use it? Because all provision methods dont use the file, right? Self extracting executable has already all enrollment informations needed, same as desktop based enrollment and device agent url adress. What am i missing? For my usecase it would be nice to have only one Agent File and Multiple setup ini´s.
Hello all, I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to have soti send an alert when a specific amount of devices are seen going offline? Or maybe something that would give me a similar scope of devices going offline. Reason being, a few weeks ago we had an issue where our cellular network went down but didn't have anyone report it until the dead of night during a night shift. So, just looking for ways to be proactive for the future. Thanks in advance for any tips!
Hi All, We have a subset of older devices that still have what we used (SOTI Pocket Controller) for remote control on our Windows Mobile devices back in the day before we started with Mobi. Now, I am trying to uninstall that application from a decent bit of devices. I've been testing a basic uninstall script but the application pops up on the device with a prompt to delete settings from the device and has yes/no answer boxes. These devices are in heavy duty vehicles, so we would like to prevent that pop-up if at all possible. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to do a silent uninstall on WM for this application? I've just tried the basic uninstall script below so far: uninstall "SOTI Pocket Controller Enterprise" Thanks in advance.
3500 Windows 10 devices connected to two deployment/management servers, version 15 Mobicontrol. Windows agents currently configured with server IP address. our Network department wants to move the servers to another IP segment and suggested using server name instead of IP address. I build a new agent install using server names but PCs do not connect. Agent test returns "Connected. Cannot send data to server." Connect button on General tab will not connect. Why does IP address connect but server name does not? have tested with fully qualified server name and also :port number. Also - for mass deploy of change from IP to server name, is the pdb.ini the only file to be modified? i have script that will search/replace IP with server name once we have that working.
Hello, I am receiving the following error when trying to enroll a Windows 10 device into our test MobiControl environement What should I do? MDM Enroll: Server Returned Fault/Code/Subcode/Value=(a:InternalServiceFault) Fault/Reason/Text=(The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. For more information about the error, either turn on IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults (either from ServiceBehaviorAttribute or from the <serviceDebug> configuration behavior) on the server in order to send the exception information back to the client, or turn on tracing as per the Microsoft .NET Framework SDK documentation and inspect the server trace logs.).

Hi, I'm able to populate custom data from an ini file when I set it on the item level, in this case windows classic units, but not when the same rules are set on the group level. Tested on both MC 14.4.4 and 15.0.2. Is this by design, or am I missing something?
