Hi, we have about 1000 MC33 with Android 8 Now our new purchase has only Android 10 MC33 devices. Our problem is now i cant stage the Android 10 devices when the DeploymentServer certicate is SHA-1, so we changes to SHA-2 and staking worked. But after changing to the SHA-2 certificate the Android 8 devices cant connect to SOTI anymore. Any solutions ? Kind Regards
I've only recently started to dabble into Android Enterprise (in which I have gone via Managed Google Play). One of my customers need their own Gmail accounts signed in to the devices alongside the Managed Google Account, but for some reason when they're adding their Google account, the AFW one seems to be removing?I suspect they're deleting the account as there doesn't appear to be a way of stopping them from deleting accounts but you can change whether they can add accounts. Can someone point me in the right direction here?
Good Morning, I am trying to update several of our apps on our devices. I am getting a failure on some apps and it reads "Failed to install i/o error". I have tried repackaging the APK, Finding a different source for the APK and so far no luck. Is there a script available that I could include in my package build? A script to maybe uninstall the previous version of the package? I wonder if i am confusing the device on what it should install.
Hi, My enrolled Android devices got a System notification several times a day which says "Apps can access your location". That's annoying and i can't disabling it cause it's a system one... Hi, some of our Zebra TC26 mobile android devices are getting out of time sync. I created a MobiControl package that enables Network Time and sets military time to 24 hours. When the package installs, it works fine. But then at some time some of the devices have seemingly by themselves removed the "Use network time" again, and some of them are 6-8 hours out of time sync. I don't know how. It seems though, if I manually force the package to run again, they will get the "Use network time" once again, and imediatedly be in sync again. So what I did was, to go to my time sync profile and try to set it to run at a schedule two times a week. But as far as I can see in the logs on some of the devices, nothing happened this morning. It does not seem like the job was started. Devices are running android 10. Tried to insert som images here in .png or .jpg, but it fails to upload them. Regards Jarl
I looked up the ports here - https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.0/en/setup/installing/network_ports.html and was unable to determine what the outbound (from device to server) port is being used to communicate during enrollment.
I've been up and down rabbit holes looking for a solution to this issue. We have Android mobile phones with the Soti application for the drivers to use in our company. The drivers also have an Intermec CK70 device they use to scan barcodes. We are looking to get these "pads", as we call them, to connect with the Android phones via mobile hotspot for transmitting data. We have the devices locked down through SOTI so the drivers have no access to settings configurations. We are in need of some way to have the mobile hotspot ALWAYS on (without rooting the devices) but, it seems once the phone is power cycled the hotspot turns off and stays off by default.
Hello - hopefully this is possible. I have searched the forum, help pages and looked in the Mobicontrol options and was not able to find any options for this. Is it possible to setup a policy to enable options for "Use network-provided time" and "Use network-provided time zone" and disable the ability to make changes?
Hello, we have a problem installing Android update on Xiaomi Redmi 9A. Our devices are Android Enterprise. we use them in lockdown mode. So end users can not press the update button. Android system update message is displayed on the top part of the screen when scrolling down. also the "update' button is active and displayed near the "Information about the phone" after You enter Administrator mode and open "Settings". Tried sending script. writeprivateprofstring SystemUpdatePolicy SystemUpdatePolicy 1 apply SystemUpdatePolicy did not help. Phone simply seem to ignore it. Apart from message from the top of the screen disappears for some time. restart also did not help. when i try to install update manually in administrator mode the device asks to approve automatic update installation. Obviously the the script did not work. after proceeding with update device is asking to confirm if the update can be downloaded through the gsm connection? In update settings, there is "Download using mobile data" option which is obviously turned off by default. perhaps someone can help please with knowledge on how to configure all those settings using Soti Mobicontrol?
Hi all, I'm currently using Android Enterprise - Work Managed devices, with Managed Google Play Account... Mobicontrol version 15.3.2 I have a selection of Add device rules set up and all have the Permissions set on the Rule like below: However at enrolment of the device, I'm experiencing a mix of results and not sure why. For example, once the device is staged as AFW - its on the enrolment screen waiting for a code. We use Mobicontrol Stage and scan barcodes created from the Enrolment ID. This then prompts for username and password (we use ldap authentication) and then it prompts for the Password Policy we set and moves onto the kiosk/lockdown. On some devices, this proceeds and there are no further pending actions. All policies, apps, etc download and the device is enrolled and compliant. However on another device, same model, same staging but perhaps a different Rule - with the same Permissions set - we get prompted in Pending actions and have to manually accept each one and toggle Mobicontrol. I have gone over the Rules and aside from the target and ldap groups these are almost carbon copies. All have the tickboxes set but I'm confused if they mean it should prompt, or should auto grant these? Little baffled on why some do it but not all... Is there something at the profile level that has an effect, or maybe something in feature control that conflicts with this that I'm potentially missing? If anyone can help and offer the intended action it would be much appreciated as we may need to update documentation for user enrolment asap. Many thanks Leigh
After updating to Android 10 from 9 on my CK65 devices I've noticed I can't swipe up from the bottom of the screen to do an administrative unlock from the Lockdown screen anymore. If I go into Remote Control I can force it to administrator mode from there, but not directly from the device. Did something change with this?

Hi all, After installing the latest windows updates and restarting the Server, the MobiControl Search Service couldn´t be started anymore because "the host refused the connection". After reinstalling the same version of MobiControl the MobiControl Search Service starts properly, but our devices cant keep up the connection to our server. In the device logs it says, that every device do connect to the server, but cant even keep it up for a second (this happens every 10 sec for all devices): Furthermore we are not able to enroll new devices, kinda bad because we got some new iPhones for our employees and they cant enroll them... Hello, everyone, In the factory that I work we have pending to carry out an update of a sw that uses the TC51 / 52 terminals that we have installed. And as a result of how the factory is distributed, the following problem arises, I have to generate a QR code that helps me create an example number: 3, and then from SOTI use a custom data that looks at that number to activate a relocation rule, but I totally don't know how this QR code can be created, I have tried StageNow but I can't. I don't know if anyone has had a similar situation or if they could give me any advice. I am new to this job and my knowledge of this world is limited. Thank you all very much in advance. Is there a possibility to set a file as a ringtone via script correctly? I used following (just as an example test): writesecuresetting -sys ringtone content://sdcard/dingdong.mp3 But for example following does: writesecuresetting -sys notification_sound content://media/internal/audio/media/42 Do i have to change something before i can use this file or should it be in a different format/ folder etc.?
