We are talking with SOTI about moving our on-prem MobiControl instance to the Cloud, however we use File Sync rules right now which sync to on-premise resources by UNC path. I understand there is something called "Cloud Link" which I thought would be a solution to this but it seems that this actually only deals with Active Directory. Is it possible to file sync MobiControl Cloud instance with on-premise files? Or a way to get files onto the cloud server for file sync?
Hi , I'm unable to enable sync settings for this VM3 Honeywell Device which is running on OS Windows Enterprise 64bit , the reason i wanted to enable this function because advised by one of the technical team from SOTI where i'm not able to send packages ( I/O error ) This unit enrolled in Windows classic , but the packages successfully deploy whenever we restart the SQL / MS / DS services in MobiControl server. All of a sudden it seems that one of my devices has disappeared from the device list, if I go to Profiles and then try to assign the profile to a device group I can see that the device is enrolled in the group I am selecting and that it is active and connected..... as shown below. However, when viewing the device group the device is not shown? Seems to be quite strange behaviour, this is also stopping me from remote controlling the device. Any ideas how to resolve other than removing the device group and starting again??
Hello, I was wondering how would you go about removing SOTI mobicontrol entirely from a device that was setup and enrolled under Android Enterprise using the afw#mobicontrol at initial phone setup? I'm hoping there is a way to do it without wiping the phone as I have deployed a few phones setup this way already and need to remove the software from them without removing anything else from the phone. If it helps the phones are Samsung Galaxy S7's running android version 7.0 or 8.0. Thanks, Timothy
Just like the title says, is there any way to remove the device configuration page (specifically the un-enroll button) from the mobicontrol app? We use the app to track devices if they are lost as well as push messages through, but it's pointless having application control if the user can just turn it off by un-enrolling the device... Also the end user doesn't need to see the debug logs. Is there an configuration URI or command we can use to remove this information?
It is possible to enable this VPN client or we can configure one of these clients that is compatible with SOTI MobiControl
So I got this case in my lap this week and wile waiting on support to get back to me I would check if anyone has some tips around this: So customer are updating their domain from "OldCompany.org" to NewCompany.org"Evry request to https://OldCompany.org is now routed to "https://NewComapny.org" in their firewalls and load balancer, I got message that the connections is traced and firewalls changed for this and no drops are recorded at the moment. From this step the Admin Utility was updated and changed on following:- Primary Agent Adress: NewCompany.org : 5494- Secondary Agent Adress: OldComapny.org : 5494- Device Management Adress: NewComapny.org : 443- Management Service Address: NewComapny.org : 443 - Fully Qualified Domain Name/IP Address: NewCompany.org : 5494- Alternate Fully Qualified Domain Name/IP Address: "Server IP" As I can se this gave a bunch of error messages for the Deployment Server but after changes in their Firewall all test and System Healt says OK. It was also tested by generate a new Certificate and change Deployment Server Extension & Web Console from OldCompany.org to NewComapny.org All test and System Healt is OK, Root Certificate is listed whit 2x Certificates.Management Servers in MobiControl is listed whit OldCompany.org whit old IP as inactive and NewCompany.org as active whit correct IPSo it is listed twice? OldCompany.org/MobiControl is no longer working but NewCompany.org is OK, NewComapny.local is OK, no issues around SSL certificate and it is certified by server and not using wildcard by LB/Firewalls as it did before. So issue one is, if we try enroll a new unit whit a new add device rule on their very strict network we are not able to enroll by ID or URL, URL is not being validated.Trying same enrollement from Internet it is all ok, unit are enrolled.Tracing this now there is no drops in the network due to firewall rules or routes. Issue 2, when trying Remote Control the connection is dropped.Tracing outgoing from server we cannot find any drops. Checking the log on the unit we find that log says unit tries the enrollment for NewCompany.org but switches over to OldCompany.org before getting connection for enrollment. I am trying to find a convenient solution for forcing our Samsung XCover 3 and Xcover 4 devices to use only 3G-connections. We have about 500 devices, so it is not in my best interest to do that manually... The reason behind this, is that our version of the MobiControl-cloud is 13.0 and it seems that it doesn't fully support the 4G -connections. Or at least all the phones using the 4G-connections seems to be offline in the Web Console. So is there any way to do this remotely?
I am curious if any has had any issue with a Certificate Profile failing to install and what it may be caused by. In my case, we are installing a Cert to a Zebra Android+ device to run an application. The Cert is in its own profile and the mandatory Auth is in a separate Lockdown profile. (This may be relevant but I have not found it to be yet) At some point after making changes to a completely different profile, the already installed Cert would change to an Install Failed status and the app would no longer operate. To my knowledge, the profile was not reinstalled and the Lockdown(with Auth) was not removed during this issue. I am able to reproduce the failure by revoking and reinstalling the Cert profile on a device (while keeping Lockdown + Auth installed). Once I attempt to reinstall, I get a failure for the Cert profile and have to Factory Reset the device to even get the cert to reinstall. Another note, not to distract from the main topic, is if you have Cert XYZ in Profile A and Profile B, SOTI somehow sees that the cert is the same and does not attempt to reinstall the cert when changing from Profile A to B via folder move or other means. I have a SOTI case open and have sent verbose logs but it's not really getting anywhere and I am apprehensive to move forward with changes I need to make in fear that it will bring down their production devices.

Hi All, Is there a way using file sync or similar to auto push wallpapers to devices? ideally we don't want to unlock devices and manually configure them due to numbers. We have TC75 devices enrolled with Android Plus and they state they have an API level of 23. We are running 13.3 version of Mobicontrol. any help would be great!
Hi, We are planning to upgrade our MobiControl installation. We curently have the MobiControl databases on a standalone SQL server which has other production databases. Since the database user must be a SysAdmin or a DbCreator for the upgrade process to complete, we have concerns that the upgrade process might affect in some way the other databases or the SQL server itself (stop/start). If anybody already successfully went through such upgrade scenario, please share.
Hi everyone and RC, wondering if anyone has setup a shared Build Directory to sync .mcp/.pcg and contained files between multiple users. Maybe using a URL? I have tried this with minimal effort but when pointing the Build Dir to a syncd cloud server, it specifies the C:\ user path, which is also different for our Mac engineers. Thanks!
Hello Regarding MobiControl and Honeywell Android units, for example the Honeywell CT50 Android 6 I'm currently testing.I was wondering if anyone maybe have tested something like this before or have some toughts, I find Honeywell easier to work whit than Zebra but Zebra may have a little more advantage whit MobiControl as script comand to rund update downloaded on to the unit before hand. So from Honeywell and CT50 in this case, may have been changed in the newer units.Honeywell describe OTA update as making a xml provisioner whit their EZConfig as tasks: Source: http://server_ip/Honeywell_CommonES_Android_Common_4.01.00.3455.zipAction: InstallFile Destination: /storage/IPSM/honeywell/autoinstall/CommonES.zip This basically downloads and moves CommonES to destination folder and is automatically runned on reboot. This is ok in itself sinse it can be downloaded from HTTP, HTTPS and FTP but when running several thousend units and more comming in diffrent location in non and secure networks it becomes a challenge to setup all the FTP and web servers to make this happen. So, could the Content Libary be used for this action, upload the OS files and downloaded to the unit.Downloading the CommonES to a file location should be ok but download kernel and run action InstallOta I'm a little more unsure of.
