Hi, With the introduction of the new managed google play update configuration in 14.2.1. Does anyone know how it's possible to trigger an app update on a device, if it's been marked as 'never update'. I need to be able to check an update before rolling it out to the entire fleet and am trying to figure out the best way to control this. Once this is done, is there a script or something I can send which will trigger the devices to update apps from the playstore? Thanks for your help
On Zebra TC75x and TC56 devices running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Lifeguard updates 11 and up, we noticed the MobiControl agent disconnecting from the server whilst the devices do have an active internet connection. When the device reboots, MobiControl does as well and stays connected for a few minutes but it'll disconnect soon after. During the staging process of these devices, we add MobiControl to the battery optimization whitelist. We've tested this thoroughly and this works fine. Further testing proved that, once the device reboots, the setting will revert and MobiControl will be submitted to battery optimization and thus will be killed by Android to save power in x minutes, if not in use. Not maintaining this setting is problem 1. Problem 2 is that the MobiControl agent will not reconnect after being killed by the battery optmimization process, unless you reboot the device. I must say we always have a Lockdown screen in place, that might have got something to do with it. Any ideas how we can add the MobiControl agent to the battery optimization whitelist permanently? Hello all, we have mobicontrol admin in version : 13.3.0.3454 we have some device zebra tc75 with mobicontrol client on version : 13.5.0 build 1677 I have a lock down (authentification / html page) on some device, on feature control i have checked disable camera. That's work fine, we have do this BECAUSE when device SLEEP after 30 min (time max) , users wake up the device and an icon camera appears ... If users take a picture after it's possible to SHARE IT .. BUT, now the problem is, we need to take picture for the new version of our app... I have checked with a little POC -> app with just a button who take a picture and of course, it's not possible to start the camera .. How to solve this ? Or perhpas How to disable sleep mode ? thanks
Hello everyone, we currently have a few Problems with our Android Devices (Samsung Galaxy Tab S2). I assume a the moment that all the Problems we have, have something to do with the proxy configuration. We use for our Internet connection a proxy pac file. On the devices the file is configured in the WLAN settings. Furthermore we use Mobicontrol as a cloud service and we currently do not have a vpn configured. The problems we have are for example that some google Services aren't working properly after a few days/weeks on some devices. After some testing with our networking team we found out that the google Service is trying to directly connect with google Servers without the use of the proxy. On the Internet I found out that android does not use the proxy config in the WLAN Settings for everything and developers can decide on their own to use it or not. My question is now: Is there a way with Mobicontrol to force the device to use a specific proxy pac file?There is a global proxy setting but the help page is not really clear with what it does. I have windows 10 device which is enrolled in Windows classic and whenever i enable my Lockdown all my start up programs are not running , so I’m looking for a alternative ways to do this.
I have seen this entry in the MC logs, and I am unsure if it is generating I/O errors. Anyone familiar with this? Specifically on the TC75.
Hi everyone I've noticed the settings icon disappears from the app menu on a few, not all, Zebra TC56 devices running M/N GMS, anytime after enrolling it into MobiControl. It is not possible to access settings from the pulldown menu either. Has anyone else seen this issue? Devices: Zebra TC56 OS: Marshmallow and Nougat with GMS MobiControl: 13.4 Agent: 13.5.0.1496
Our environment is using TC56 devices (Nougat) and Android Enterprise. Since the AE agent upgraded to 13.6, we had to upgrade Surf to 14.2 version for it to continue working, but there's a catch. When surf is upgraded to 14.2, or even installed as new on a factory reset device, it won't ask for all the authorizations it needs, it will ask for 2 of them, but when you launch surf (from surf:// in kiosk mode) you will get a flashing strobe mess and the app will remain stuck that way. Manually granting the other permissions in app settings fixes it and surf works fine after that, but I think SOTI should be aware of that, since something's not right in that version. Of course using Zebra devices we can (and will) use the appmgr to grant all the permissions on install, but this should be addressed imho. Surf config is as basic as it can be : Fullscreen mode with no address bar and no startup menu, then kiosk is used to access chosen websites.
Hello all, we have mobicontrol on version 13.3.03454 we have some device zebra tc75 under android 6.0 with client mobicontrol on version 13.5.0 build 1677 We have a profile who has lock down with authentification. On the lock down -> html page, we have some title text and a image. when user click on the image we open an app. If we press the TITLE text on the lock down after perhpas one or two second we can see a little menu appears with some options as SHARE. If i click on share, a popup is show (application chooser) with these app : - android beam - bluethooth - email - gmail - .... How to avoid this problem ? thanks for all
Hi, I dont know if this is the right forum, but I figured someone might have run into this. I am trying to do some troubleshooting on a TC75 in Android Studio. However despite that my Zebra device is actually connected on ADB, then it is not listed as a device in Android Studio (see attached screenshot). Any ideas? I've been through resetting ADB service, reconnecting, restarting etc.
After we enrolled the device, App Catalog is installed on the device successfully. We have some apps that we distribute via vpp account. Everything was working fine but now It doesn't install the app. When we click install button in app catalog(Web clip that list apps to be installed), Soti give the message of cant be installed contact to the administrator. When ı try to refresh vpp account it says I have just downloaded the vpp token and uploaded it Any help will be very useful Thanks
