Hi all, we have to configure a APN manually on some devices. I wanted to do it in mobicontrol (profile -> APN) but there i have to setup several fields which i don't need and 2 fields i have to fill in are missing. Possible and needed: Name (SFR Tablet) APN (websfr) Default Connection (Check) Don't need but mobicontrol wants it: Access Point Type MVNO Type Needed but no option: APN-Protokoll (IPv4) APN-Roaming-Protokoll (IPv4) Is there any way to enter this maybe with a script instead of profile?
Morning all. i have enrolled several devices using afw#mobicontrol which has worked fine. devices are honeywell EDA71 tablets using android 8.1. i did not realise that enrolling devices in this way removes loads of the pre installed applications. after some frantic searching on google and the forums i found i was able to send the device a script to reenable some of these apps. the one in question for me is the camera. i am sending this script enable_system_app org.codeaurora.snapcam however this has only worked on approximately 70% of the devices. is there any reason why this script does not always work? thanks Daryl

We are surprised that we do not know about this flow since it does not appear on the network config diagram: According to the online help: sendreport Sends a debug report from the device agent to the SOTI ftp server. This script ask the device agent to send a debug report (all following files) to the SOTI FTP server through the port 22 and without passing through the MC server (DS/MS). Since we are concerned about the security of our devices, we have some questions : Is the FTP flow used by SOTI (not SFTP) secure? If so, how it is secured? What is the authentication mechanism? Is it a one-way flow? Or is it two-way? From device to the SOTI FTP? From SOTI FTP to device? What types of files can transit through this flow? In case SOTI is attacked, what would be the possibilities for the hackers and the consequences? Are there other flows of this type that do not appear at all on the network config diagram? Hi, it's possible to obtain data from custom attributes and send a script to device? like this: On SOTI server have set this custom attributes on each device set manual her own PIN code and by script send: resetpassword %CustomAttr:PIN% -bypass_secure_startup but dosn't work, is blocked by default or custom attributes is used for other pourposes? If I send this script showmessagebox %SERIALNUM% It works and show me this macro, but don't work with custom attributes
Hello, android has in his profile configuration the Task Scheduler. Unfortunately iOS doesn't have this configuration. I was looking for an optionto execute scripts for iOS device (example: restart the device). My goal is to execute a restart everyday at a specific time. Is there an option to configure that for iOS devices too? I don't want to use third party apps because i want to manage thiswithin MC. Thank you.

Hello everybody, I have the CC6000 tablets from Zebra here. We have a standard for naming devices in our network. Currently they are displayed on the DHCP server with android23ab23ab23ab, for example. But I would like to rename it to ZebraDevice01 for example. Is there a function to do this directly via SOTI or possibly via a script command? I have already tried to do this via the developer options. Unfortunately, this is not possible on the tablets. In addition, given the number of devices, that would be very tedious. Thank you for your help.Pascal
Is it possible to send a script to a device to launch an application? The device is enrolled as Work Managed and is locked down in a kiosk. We have built an application to change an OS level setting when ran but only want to run it once so ideally we don't want to add it to the kiosk.ThanksJosh.
Hey Guys, i need to Update the Hosts File in "/root/system/etc" but i dont know the variable to copy the file with a Package to this location. I tried it with \internal\system\etc and the File was transfered to %sdcard%. I tried %root%\system\etc\ too. This didn't work. Has anyone a Idea ?

Hello, We are currently testing some Firmware update OTA. The FOTA is working fine on one of our devices. Now, we would like to target all the ~2000 devices that are currently enrolled on our server. --------------- MC version : 14.3.3.1111 Device Manufacturer : Coppernic Device Model : COne2 Management Type : Work Managed Device AE Agent Version : 14.4.1.1064 --------------- I tested the following script : writeprivateprofstring SystemUpdatePolicy 1apply SystemUpdatePolicy You can find the documentation here No error message in the device logs but the script does not work. Does the script look OK to you? Is there any need for additional elevation like WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS for writesecuresetting? Is there maybe any other way to process? Hello,To understand my question a little better, let me first explain the problem, that led to it. We are using a third-party application, which main features are to keep track of routes and deliveries. For example, where & when is it delivered/collected, or tracing of a driver with the possibility of live updates. A requirement for most of these features, would of course be a (nearly) constant GPS signal.Here lies the problem. On our third-party application, the GPS signal is turned off every time we activate lockscreen (screen goes dark, while the device is still operating in the background). Meaning that our application is neither transmitting nor collecting any data.But this can be avoided as long as the screen stays on active. - Which leads to my question. Is it possible to force the screen on our devices, to stay activated at all times, not allowing our drivers to physically turn the screen off by pressing the power button?Meaning that as long as there is charge on the battery, the screen will stay activated, unless we as an administrator tell it otherwise. As a bit of wishful thinking, we would like to take it even further, so that the screen could switch between maximum brightness and minimum brightness, with the press of a button. I do understand this might would be asking too much, so a feature like that, is defiantly only a second priority. Hope someone can support us with our "little" problem.Kind regards Joachim
