Discovered an issue with unlocking tablets on Android 13. When remoted into a device, Samsung Tab A7 that is on Android 13, when you swipe to get the pattern unlock screen, the device/remote session will black out the screen, not allowing you to see the pattern. This will force Soti techs to rely on user for pattern input. We tested the same exact device (A7) with same exact profile, but on Android 12, and we were able to see the pattern screen. This seems like a Samsung update as 12 and previous allow us to see pattern screen. I have looked at other password screens (Admin mode, JC Mobile Etc.) We are still able to see those screens. Look below looks like it can be a Samsung thing. is anyone able to confirm if this is something that was part of the latest Samsung software updates? I took a look at our Feature Control and we have the "Allow Screen Capture" setting enabled.
I have a Samsung Tab A7 lite on android 12. We currently have a profile with a lockdown and System update policy. The policy is set up to postpone software updates from February 7th to April 30th. Today, Feb 21st I had a device prompt me to update to Android 13 while in user mode. It looks like the update went through. We are trying to avoid and postpone Android 13 for the time being. Can someone take a look at our Update Policy and insure we set it up correctly? I have an spoken with a Soti rep during the set up of the policy and at the time he said it looked good. edit: this device does have 3 profiles assigned to it. With only one of the three profiles having the System Update Policy configured. Do we need to configure it for each profile?
Good Afternoon, Version: 15.4.3.1012 We have technician devices which we need the location collected thru a internal timekeeping app. On the Knox enrolled Samsung devices we were able to set the app location permission to always and lock the ability to change. However, we still have about 1,000 non knox Samsung phones (and a few iPhones) which we are not able to set and lock the location permission for this app package.I was able to find and apply a script (legacy) to set and lock the battery optimization and was hoping to find something similar for the location permission. I searched here and checked with our MDM management company but could not find any solution. Is there a way to change the location settings on non Knox Samsung devices?
Does any have any experience using the Mobicontrol APIs for a development pipeline?Our development team wants to automate the process of loading android APKs into Mobicontrol. While I understand the process adding a new version through the Web Console, I have no idea what it would look like using scripts and the APIs. I assume the process would be somewhat similar, add the package, then update the profile with the new version of the application but I am unsure.I currently use the package manager to add pre-install script. How would that play into this? Looking for some insight. If you have done this, how well does it work?
Hello, I am unable to configure my enrollment to Preserve Device Name on Re-Enrollment even though the setting is turned on. When I unenroll and renroll a device, it doesn't keep the name that I have setup. Example: Enroll and use the %SERIALNUMBER% to name the device initially. Append a NAME to the SERIALNUMBER. Unenroll device and delete from SOTI (should I not be deleting the device if I am renrolling? Maybe this is the issue?) Renroll the device and the name is SERIALNUMBER and not NAME+SERIALNUMBER.
Hi,Anyone else are having issues with soti surf?Seems like after latest agent soti surf acts weird. I`m trying to open one page in kiosk mode. After reboot device acts normal for few secs and after that opens blank page that shows nothing.
Hi, sorry for the bad title.Can I use the same scanner profile for all my Zebra MC3300X, but with different applications running depending on which scanner it is. I have them sorted per application in different organizational units.I have soti surf running on all of them and different web applications.I don't want to give the user the option to choose which web application to start. I find it not practical to have 6 profiles just for different web links we use on the scanners, but with the same basic configurationI have the newest version of Mobicontrol running and also the newest Android Enterprise agent.Are there best practices I'm missing or maybe a setting i can use for this?In any case, thanks for reading and your helpBest RegardsFlorian
Hello everyone. I'm using Mobicontrol 15.5.1.1010 On Premise. I received a request to try out some Older devices on Mobicontrol. We got Datalogic Skorpio X3 and X4 (Win CE6 et Win CE7) The Skorpio X4 works pretty well, and enrollement was quite easy. For the X3...seems that the server running mobicontrol got some issues with TLS 1.0 We reactivaetd it. , tried to see if there was issues with cypher, but can't find wich one is used. So..if someone got those kind of device , connected on a premise version of Mobicontrol , i would gladly accept some help... thanks to all
Hi there, I'm trying to upload a Google Chrome apk file in SOTI MobiControl to make a package and I got this error: "Failed to read Android application file (.apk) information. Upload a valid .apk and try again." I tried 4 differents APK of Google Chrome from 2 differents sites (APKMirror and APKPure). They all stuck exactly at 70% of the upload and after I get the error message. Thanks in advance.
Hi - 1.When listing all devices within mobi control I have added in additional columns to view firmware version, lifeguard status, build version etc - a number of columns are showing as N/A do I need to enable an option on the devices to view these stats within soti? (device WT6300) 2. Remote access to WT6300 - when I remote to a device I cannot enter administrator mode? nothing happens when clicked on 3. The reason for wanting to enter admin mode remotely is to view sdcard/android/data files so I can edit files remotely , to edit the enterprise browser folder. I get a blank page at the moment. Hi, I've got a number of Zebra TC52 devices, and I need to apply the laterst LifeGuard update to them. I've created a File Sync rule, and that seems to work correctly. I.e. I get an entry to the device log which says that the file has been synced. Then I want to call the install_system_update script command, but I get the following log entry when I do: Custom log (Mx OTA failed: /sdcard/HE_FULL_UPDATE_11-30-24.00-RG-U00-STD-HEL-04.zip) Any idea what could be the cause of this? Hello, Is it possible to have one profile with one package that only installs in Android 10 and another package that only installs in Android 11? I have a problem with Android 11 when I try to copy some files to the application folder (not possible after Android 10) and solve it, creating another profile (a clone) with a different package that have a different path to these files and assign only if Android > 10 and existing profile assign only to Android 10. But now I have two similar profiles and I want to just have one. Is this possible?
Hello, I have a server that works well in last year, but today, after I create a new profile, I can't assign this new, or one of existing profiles. It shows an error: The server could not complete your request. An internal server error occurred. My mobicontrol version is 15.5 On-Prem installation. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks.
I am trying to setup Google Chrome to access a singular site on a Mobicontrol Android tablet. I found this page in my searching, SOTI Discussion Forum - and I got the URL entered. However, on the tablet, in the App Catalog, Google Play store (which isn't how I want it shown, but that's another matter), it says "This item isn't available".
I have a problem where I think that hasn't got a solution. I have a Samsung A53 mobile device with a lockdown profile enabled. This device was for pure testing but I've managed to Lockdown this device completley. Device is not manageable anymore from within SOTI * Device is in airplane mode. I've added a Sim card, but airplane mode is active..... * Authentication Password has been forgotten. * Option to Factory reset the device is disabled after a hard reset. Is there some kind of master Administrator password? I think I can only use the device as a doorstop now. Any ideas would be great.
