    Mobicontrol Second deployment server

Hello MObicontrol experts  I want to have a second deployment server  I have two servers  but using the same registration code, now Soti Support told me that I cannot do that, even when the recommended it. Anyway In one server (old) I am running mobicontrol version 13.2.03345 version, this old server is managing scanners with windows mobile. My second server (new) its running mobicontrol with version 15.3.0.6711, since I am having issues with my license, I want to migrate the old server into the new one, the idea is to move the old deployment server into the new one In the Mobicontrol Admin tool I can see that I have the chance to add a second IP address there, do you know if adding the old server IP address would do the magic? I really do not think so but I want to ask Thanks for your kind answers!

Console security and Rules not showing in v15.3.0.6713 Solved Locked

Hi. Having some issues with latest mobicontrol. When I navigate to Rules and Console security i only get a blank page. Nothing showing. Its not a browser issue I think, because I tried on Edge, Chrome and IE with the same results. I can mention, that I did an operation moving deployment server from old to new server. did an upgrade run from 15.1 to 15.3 with all the versions I could download in between.  I only got one error after installing 15.3 , and that was an error during post-install operation....  guess starting some services...  But after i restarted the server it started OK.  But still have issues with rules and console security. any ideas?

SOTI MC on premise - add a second Deployment Server Solved

Hello all, I have the following scenario with a customer. He is using a MobiControl on premise installation, version 15.1.1, in his internal network. Currently every MC part is installed on one main server (Deployment Server, Management Server, SQL DB). He wants to add a second Deployment Server in his DMZ to make the SOTI MC environment externally available. I installed and configured a lot of SOTI MC servers in the past but never added a second Deployment Server to an existing one. The question is, are there any things to keep in mind while installing a second Deployment Server? I am aware of opening ports between the main server and the second server and installing the Deployment Server with the SOTI MC 15.1.1 installation setup on the second server (only with the Deployment Server checked in the setup). Thank you in advance for your answer!

Deployment Server error (Failed to retrieve and issue Client Certificate. Device may not be able to communicate on subsequent connections.)

Hi everyone Anyone have seen this issue before? It all started in february. More than 5k Android tablet have this error at check-in (logs mobicontrol) now. Deployment Server error (Failed to retrieve and issue Client Certificate. Device may not be able to communicate on subsequent connections.) The enrollment time (in the Information tab) for this tablet is 2015-10-20. If we go to Certificates tab in Mobicontrol, we actually see that the certificate will expire in 2 months (April). The thing is that we checked all our deployment server certificate and the expire date is in 2030 same as the Mobicontrol Root. We are on the 13.4.0.5519 version Thanks

MobiControl - Separate services from single server to multiple

Hi all, I currently have a single MobiControl server hosting both the deployment and management services.  Due to our security departments concerns, we have to disable TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in the near term.  I tested this with our current environment, and although it seems that the web console works fine, all of our Windows Mobile devices were unable to connect once disabled.  Re-enabling TLS 1.0 allowed the devices to reconnect.  Soti support confirmed that older versions of WM may not support TLS 1.2. So, as a way around this, I need to separate out the deployment server and management server into 2 servers so I can have the web console on it's own instance with TLS 1.0/1.1 disabled, and then the deployment server for the device communication will have them enabled.  I can then whitelist the firewall for TCP/5494 for only the source device IPs which we will always know to make our security team happy for that and also https will not have TLS 1.0 enabled. Is there a best path to make this happen?  I know that multiple deployment servers can be used in an environment, so does it make sense to setup another server as a "failover" and then can have a way to migrate into that new server permanently? Or, can I just build a new deployment server, stop the services on server 1, start the services on server 2, and then make a firewall NAT change to send traffic from our current public IP (and same URL) to send TCP/5494 to the new server? Thanks for any help or advice.

    Local Caching a Deployment Server

Currently I am looking at something around 30min to setup a single new tablet on MobiControl. Most of this is waiting for file downloads to the tablets. So I am looking for a way to speed up this process so I started looking in to setting up a dedicated router that passes though a Squid-Cache server or something similar.  Has anyone tried to run a local caching server on-site to try and speed up initial provisioning times?  Will this work? If so, any tips from anyone that might have tried something like this? Are there any other ideas for how I could speed up these deployment times? I am in reality only downloading around 500MB including tablet FW/Knox updates.

    Deployment Server Certificate

Hello.  I apprecitate your comments on the following subject. The certificate for Deployment Server installed by Mobicontrol by default reveals internal information that can be used by a hacker. As shown in the following image, when the server address is entered in a browser, the certificate reveals information on the internal IP and server name, which is considered a security flaw. For the web console this client has installed a purchased wildcard certificate. The client wants the same certificate to be applied to the Deployment Server. Is it possible to apply the client certificate to the Deployment Server without affecting the devices?  There are about 3,000 devices on this server, both Windows Mobile and Android. Moving Deployment server to a different host

Hi, Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I did try and find some answers but couldn't find what I was looking for. The server we currently host MobiControl on is getting on and we would like to move it to a new virtual server we have. The new server will have a different local and public IP address. Is this a difficult process? Could I have some further information on the process? Thanks
