Hi everyone

Anyone have seen this issue before? It all started in february. More than 5k Android tablet have this error at check-in (logs mobicontrol) now.

Deployment Server error (Failed to retrieve and issue Client Certificate. Device may not be able to communicate on subsequent connections.)

Logs error

The enrollment time (in the Information tab) for this tablet is 2015-10-20.

If we go to Certificates tab in Mobicontrol, we actually see that the certificate will expire in 2 months (April).

The thing is that we checked all our deployment server certificate and the expire date is in 2030 same as the Mobicontrol Root.

Please answer the following questions to better assist you.

  • Are your devices doing checking with MC and showing online in Webconsole?
  • Did you upgrade/migration or made any  recent change on the server?
  • Is this issue related to any specific device model or agent version?
  • Do you have multi-DS environment ?

  • Devices show online in mobicontrol
  • We installed latest V13 in december 2020
  • Issue occurs on Getac tablets, they are the ones trying to renew their certificate for now
  • We have 1 MS and 4 DS
