Hello SOTI team, I would like to stage an iPhone to only display a webclip on the device The problem is by using application restrictions (White List) it removes all but the settings and phone icon. My goal is to find a way to remove those icons from the phone by using SOTI. I tried creating a blacklist to specify com.apple.Preferences and com.apple.mobilephone but it will fail to install. Will I need to use an XML script to accomplish this? If so could some one help point me in the right direction for what options or ideas they have? Single App mode is not an option because I would like to add more webclips later. 07/30-Thanks Kindly for suggestions but Single App mode is not an option as the root goal would be to lockdown the phones similar to Android. I realize this may not be possible but my ideal situation would be to create a homescreen without the Phone and Settings icons. I think my only best solution is to drop those two icons in a folder on page 2. I believe we are facing limitations of what iOS 17 can do. I hope with iOS18 we will be able to hide those two icons and prevent user from being able to swipe right or left on homescreen. I did experiment with Custom Profiles but if you try to blacklist the Preferences and MobilePhone bundles using XML it will fail also. The official Apple documentaton does specify that you cant do that for those two Bundles so I think this may be out of SOTIs control. Thanks again!
Good morning, We have encountered an issue with pairing to the printer: - Device type: TC75 - Printer: Honeywell RP4F When we do not have any Application Run Control restriction, when we try to pair the printer to our app we have the following pop up (behavior OK): I have sent the script identify_activity, the activity linked to this pop up is: => com.android.settings/.bluetooth.BluetoothPairingDialog We are facing the issue when we are activating the Application Run Control restriction, we have a app control whitelist containing the following app id: net.soti.mobicontrol.motorola AtheliaAndroidUpdater.App Servitrax.Android com.zebra.hotswap We also have a feature control configuration. With that restriction, when we try to print/pair, it loads for a long time, does not display the pop up and ends up failing (behavior KO). I tried adding multiple bluetooth app id without success, for example: com.android.bluetooth com.symbol.btapp com.ppn.bluetooth com.zebra.bluetooth com.zebra.bluetooth.settings com.gonext.bluetoothpair We tried also using the manualblacklist command but we had problem on our devices after using it so we don't want to proceed like this. To be noted: our customer does not wish to have the setting app in the whitelist. Does someone have an idea about which app id we should include in the whitelist in order to make it work and the pop up to appear? Or what we need to modify ?
Good Morning, I was wondering what the best way to get the following policy to work with SOTI and our devices. The policy's goal is to restrict Chrome and whitelist one of our companies approved sites. Below is a current example: {"applications": [{"packageName": "com.android.chrome","installType": "FORCE_INSTALLED","managed_configuration": {"URLBlacklist": ["*"],"URLWhitelist": ["test.webapps.jacam.com"]},"lockTaskAllowed": true,"defaultPermissionPolicy": "GRANT"}],"persistentPreferredActivities": [{"receiverActivity": "com.android.chrome","actions": ["android.intent.action.MAIN"],"categories": ["android.intent.category.HOME","android.intent.category.DEFAULT"]}],"statusBarDisabled": true}
Hi, We are trying to publish Google Sites using Soti Surf on a couple of locked down devices. sites.google.com is already whitelisted. Everything works well except when accessing external links on the sites pages. Google Sites replaces the direct links with Google redirect links that starts with "https://www.google.com/url?q=". For testing purposes, www.google.com has also been whitelisted. Clicking on external links with the Google redirect links give the "access denied" error message. However, doing a long press on the links and choosing "open in new tab" works perfectly. What else should be whitelisted to allow opening of links with Google URL redirects in this scenario? Regards, D.
Hi everyone,we work with MobiControl and Samsung devices, in Android Enterprise mode - full device magnament, with corporate catalogs in PlayStore. We have GalaxyApps app disabled so that no user can download inappropriate content such as games, unnecessary themes, etc. However, we need GalaxyApps for updating some Samsung system applications (which are not in the PlayStore), such as Samsung Calendar, Video library, maintenance app ... How can we do it? Thanks. Greetings
Hi i am just now to Soti and i am working on the setup for my phones. I am looking to Lock a browser down to a white list of approved sites but still retain the ability to store passwords for Websites. I can save passwords in Chrome but i cant fine a way to set a White List, only seem to be able to run a black list. In Soti Surf i can run a whitelist but i can not save passwords for a website. Does anyone have any idead how i could achieve this?
I'm using whitelist in application run control and I have been able to successfully whitelist a few apps, however one of the apps will not appear despite it being installed on the phone. Is there anything I can try to make this appear? Also, is it possible to force apps to appear on the first home screen? I've added some system apps and there appear here, however I have a webclip and this appears on the second screen.
Is there an official list of exclusions for processes/files/folders that should be added to AV software for the Mobicontrol server?
Is there a way to gather all the running processes on the phone through Learning mode in Version 14.1.7.1101? I am trying to create a whitelist and going through every single process the phone has to run is extremely time consuming and a crapshoot.
