You have selected a file with incorrect format. Please select another .apk file when trying to use Enterprise App

Hi All

We have an inhouse built application that isn't currently available on the Google Play Store as it is still in development stage.

Previous versions of our application have allowed us and still allow us with the latest version of Mobicontrol to upload the app as an Enterprise Application however as of recent versions this is no longer letting us and were unsure as to why.

When we try upload the apk to the enterprise application we get the following error : You have selected a file with incorrect format. Please select another .apk file (Screenshot below)

Is anyone able to give us some direction on what to look for and how to solve this issue?

Hi Paul!

When you say "as of recent versions", do you mean recent versions of your APK or of MobiControl? I have tested your Evolve app in the most recent public version of MobiControl and it doesn't give me any errors so my assumption is its an issue with newer versions of the Evolve app. I can't say for sure why that might be but I would check to see if anything has changed relative to your app compile. Did you compile a debug build? Was the new version signed differently than the old version?

Hi Matt

Thank you for the information, we are using the following version of MobiControl : 2024.0.0.1075.

The version of the Evolve agent you have is from the 6th April 2023 I can also get the same results as you do on that version. Naturally we have since developed since then and the current version is dated 16th November 2023 and that is the one I have been testing on.

I will feed back what you have said and see if they can find anything that is different between the two APK versions we have.

We are facing the same issue with the latest Zebra Enteprise Keyboard apk (4.2.1.1) on MC 15.6.3.1018
