Hey everyone,
Has anyone seen where the remote control screen is completely white and you can't see the device? I can access the files, look at device information, and it behaves essentially like I'm remoted into it but I can see the device or its screen. I'm only see this on Zebra ET45 devices. I can remote into MC33x and TC72 devices just fine. The ET45's are new and I was able to remote into them yesterday. I attached a screenshot for reference. thanks in advance!
Neat to see Vail is finally phasing out all the old Windows CE gear ;) For the newer devices like ET40/ET45 and TC53/TC58 I've noticed that Remote Control only works when the Remote Control plugin is not installed. It counter intuitive, and I haven't received a straight answer from SOTI on this yet, but it doesn't seem like these newer devices need the plugin. I've seen no other degradation in configuration performance thus far either as MX settings and scripting OS upgrades also seem to work on these devices with just the AE agent and no Zebra plugin. When you saw it working yesterday it was likely before the plugin was installed. Revoke the plugin, reboot the devices, and I bet you Remote Control will work again.
Last season with the old Windows Mobile devices and I can't wait to retire those! Only a few weeks away
We see this as well, then most likely the legacy remote control works (but not the web-based/XSight).
We haven't investigated that with Soti yet because we have other issues reported to them to be more important because we have that "workaround" via legacy remote control.

I had the same problem on a ZEBRA ET40 terminal.
By habit I had installed the ZEBRA plugin. As explained by Matt, I tested the uninstallation of the APK net.soti.mobicontrol.androidplus.zebra by profile or by script, that allows me to find the optimal functioning of the remote control.

Thanks everyone! I was able to resolve this issue by upgrading to the OS to LIFEGUARD UPDATE 11-19-13.00-RG-U03 as well as removing the plugin. The OS these were shipped with was also the issue. I had used the plugin and that had no impact on it at all until so like Matt said it actually works without it. All my MC3300's and TC72's need it installed so definitely counter intuitive.
