What type of agent have you installed? AE or OEM?

Make sure that you use Android Enterprise agent on TC25.

Hi Kerry,

Please be aware that there are different feature sets and  enrollment procedures for different device modes (e.g. managed-device, work-profile,  BYOD/user-enrollment, COPE, etc.) of the Android-Enterprise platform.  So, before enrolling, first make sure you know which mode you are going to use based on your use-case and server/device version.

I factory reset the handset re-installed mobi control and it worked.

I currently manage SOTI with TC70, 72, 75's in Kiosk mode with no google account and a variety of Windows CE/mobile devices. the only apps are in house so no need for google account.

we recently upgraded our server instance from 13xx to 15.0.2.1049, this was a bit of a jump, and a few things don't work as they used to.  Then there are the new handsets with the latest Android OS/AE which is definitely quirky.

Have i got this straight in thinking i need to setup my devices in managed-device mode?  can i achieve this with just soti or do i need to do something with stagenow?

Sorry for not understanding its been an easy ride with ver 13 and android 6.0.1. things have taken a sudden leap here and i need to get upto speed with everything upgrading at the same time.

Fully Managed is the AE management principal that you will certainly want for dedicated Zebra Android devices. This principal, also called Device Owner, has to be enabled from a Factory Default state during enrollment unlike the legacy Device Administrator concept that you are familiar with that could be activated at any time. There are native Android enrollment methods like DPC Identifier, NFC, QR, and ZTE that support what you're looking for from a default state but StageNow is a fifth option, unique to Zebra devices that is arguably the best option for your devices.
