Profile pending install

Hello,

Just started using soti mobicontrol on premise. Have 3 devices and observing something not right with profile push.

1. Device model Cipherlab RS50 - 3 devices enrolled successfully

2. 2 of the devices got profile pushed OK (screen lock and application)

3. Last device after enrollment doesnt get the profile. I changed the installation type to self service and see install button grayed out on the device..

Where as in profile details it basically says that it's not installed on any device.

Anywhere specific I should look to?

MobiControl version is 15.2. Running trial key for 10 devices, getting licenses soon.

 Thank you in advance.

How did you enroll the devices? Perhaps some got enrolled under Device Owner (Work Managed) and the other got enrolled under Profile Owner (Work Profile). You may need to factory reset the latter device and re-enroll if so.

Thx for reply.

I only created 1 add device rule and all devices were enrolled from Soti android app via qr code with this rule.

The latter device was enrolled after factory reset.

The profile is set to be applied to all android devices and is the only one in the system.

What is work managed vs work profile? Where do I see that?

To get device in AE managed-device mode, such device should be enrolled upon device factory reset (e.g. use hashtag when prompted for google username right after the language/Wifi setting after factory reset).  Otherwise, the device will be enrolled as work-profile mode.

To confirm which model your device has been enrolled into, you can check the active MDM API's reported in the configuration tab of the device agent or from the device information tab in your web console.

It turned out OK on 3 of my devices which had Android 6.

But it looks like the process is different on Android 8.0. Is there a proper way to enroll a 8.0 device in LAN without internet access provided there is a SOTI deployment server is local?

Which enrollment method did you use to successfully enrol your 3 devices?

Which option (out of "Managed Google Accounts", "Managed Google Play Accounts" and "Skip Google Account Addition") in the"Android Management" tab of the Add-Devices-Rule did you chose to enrol your devices?

I used the "Skip Google Account Addition".

I enrolled the older Android 6 devices from MobiControl app, not just after factory reset. My main goal was to get the lockdown screen with provided apps and it works ok there via the lockdown configuration.

My main concern now is how I achieve the same on Android 8.0 devices.

This is actually not a smartphone, but a Cipherlab rs50 (android 6) and RS51 (android 8) barcode scanners.

Can you add the Android Enterprise Management type column to your inventory view and then provide us with a screenshot of what you see so that we can get a better idea of how each device is being managed?

Hello, Matt,

Here below. The "Mobiwire" manufacturer is actually cipherlab, not sure why it's wrong.

My mobi deployment server is on-premise. Can you actually deploy a work managed device on-premise?
