Hi,

We have an app requiring an update of Google Play Services, but have no managed google play account on the device. Is their a way to administratively solve the google play services update i.e. install apk directly, pushing dummy gmail account etc..?

Thanks!

Is it really Google Play Services that the app needs or is it a different system component like WebView? WebView is a more likely app dependency, or maybe even Google Maps. If it is WebView then you can probably get a Zebra Lifeguard update to bring the device to a newer WebView implementation. A recent LG for the TC8000 L included a newer WebView so there is a chance the same was brought to the TC75 that is part of the same device family.

Hi Matt,

As pr. the developer then it's notification/messaging and then google maps, so  I am looking into testing if i.e. webview, maps .apk installs could fix it.

However it would be much more preferable to have it easily managed and updated in a single place(google play services apk etc.), neither of the current scenarios are particularly elegant for mantaining .

The devices have the latest/secondlatest LG update, so I did not expect that part to bring 5.x devices on par with current updates of managed google play services? (is it just webview?)
