Hello, for enrolling new android devices, does the internet access for the device is required for enroll it or it can be done with only connection to SOTI server (on-premises) also does the internet access for the server is needed?
Hi, We have added a button to our lockdown that opens a web link in chrome. the command for the button is intent:<URL>#Intent;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;end this works as expected and opens the correct URL. the user has to log in to the webpage which they can do fine. The issue is that the website isnt very good and the logout doesn't log them out fully. If you go back to the lockdown screen and then click the button again then you browse to the link but the website still thinks you are logged in so bypasses the login screen and then falls over because the session has timed out. the only way i can clear is to delete the browser cache and data. This isnt ideal for the end user. The end user cannot close the browser either. also when they go back into chrome it opens another tab so you end up with lots of tabs. we have added another button to the lockdown called logout that runs a script on the device with kill_application com.android.chrome wipeapplication com.android.chrome the kill works but then has an effect on the device where when you press on the screen, the device thinks you have pressed elsewhere on the screen the wipe does not seen to do anything We are using honeywell EDA51 with work profiles in mobicontrol. any help much appreciated thanks gareth
Hello, we work with mobicontrol on version 14.4.9 1034 since several weeks now. We used zebra device TC75X under android 7 enrolled android + all works fine since the migration but i receive a call yesturday about some device (10 exactly) who wouldn't be connected ! It's stange, because on console i see the device is connected -> image connected if i made a remote connexion on it -> no problem on these 10 devices .. But if i go to the log and make a search for one week. I notice since for today example i have no log ! but i can make a remote connexion on it ... Also if i select a device, go to device details i see : last agent connect time -> 4 days ago !!!! all others device (+ 800) has the date of today , just these 10 devices meet problem ... but, i repeat i can make remote connexion on the device ... For me, there are connected , It's so strange ... Also, agent mobicontrol is updated any idea about what i can do for discover what s happen ? thanks for all
Hey Guys, actually I'm developing a new lockdown Template which listens to json-Files on the Filesystem to show certain Apps in the lockdown or not. Everything is working so far, but I have to serve all the App-Icons to the device manually, even for installed applications.Does anyone knows how to target the App-Icon within the Lockdown as a path, e.g. /system/package/app1/appicon.png ?How does the SOTI-Magic works within the Lockdown? There are only Placeholders like <img src="<MCExeIcon4>" onerror="this.style.display='none'" /> but works as charme. How does the MCExeIcon4 get's converted to the App-Icon? Thank you!
hey, I have a smaal issue with profiles, when i go to profile and i want to assign it to a specifically device from the list (under group), i get always the next error: ERROR The server could not complete your request. An internal server error occurred. is there something that can i do to fix this issue. i tryed to use many browsers but it didn't help yet. thank you for you help.
this is not so much a soti question as a general Android Zebra question but I know people here probably have run into this Are OS upgrades and security updates included when you purchase zebra devices after the first 90 days or does one need to buy a plan they sell to get further security and or OS upgrades

Hi Everyone, I am trying to add an item to the lockdown to launch into the settings>app>storage screen on a Zebra device, TC75x. However, every time I try to run identify_activity, it is showing me: Current activity name: com.android.settings/.SubSettings. That is too generic for the lockdown to navigate to the correct location. All of my devices are in the field so I was wondering if anyone has previously done this and had the package name already. If not, do you know of a script that would clear the cache instead of the data? I have only seen the wipeapplication script. Hi, is there any possibility to automatically adjust the background picture to the correct size of the device or the correct zoom factor the user is using? Most of the users are using with a "smaller zoom" than the standard display is showing. See the following picture as an example. The third picture (right) shows the problem. Is there any way to adjust this automatically? So I am trying to setup our device enrollments on an FTP server. Part of the Enrollment is the JSON file that holds the Enrollment ID. With something like the Agent file I can select to use and external source. I store the Agent on an FTP server and enter "ftp-p://USERNAME:PASSWORD@ftp.domain.com:21/Agents/GoogleMobiControl1442_1039.apk" in the external source. I do the same thing with the .bin file for the deployment package. This works great and I love it. Now when I get to the JSON file it only lets me select a file from my PC, I do not get a selection for an external source. So does anyone know how I can do this or a better way of getting the enrollment ID to the device? Thanks!
Good Evening, Another couple questions for the group: 1: Does anyone know if the Samsung stock email client supports Active Sync redirect 451? 2: Is there a script that I can send to the device that allows me to change the mail servers on a device that was manually configured Active Sync? The Managed Application of the Samsung Email client is not overwriting the old data and if you send a wipeapplication script I am then greeted with MDM is blocking adding another account. (Even if I have the device in a group that has no restrictive profiles.) We are going from On- Prem to Cloud and i would like to make this as seemless as possible. The only other route I can think of is to use EndPoint manager as a MAM and SOTI as the MDM and push the Client portal and the Outlook app about a day before hand. Update: Not the route I want to go with as now it becomes even more cumbersome managing the entire scope of devices. I would have thought with a wipe application and then turn on the Application Management in the Playstore Portal for the client would have been the ticket. However that error of MDM is blocking adding account even when the feature control is set to allow - Or is set to block google or even all. Any thoughts? Thanks Jason
Good Evening, Is anyone seeing an issue where the end user is not able to press settings as the application will fail? (Start then disappear) I have a Samsung Note 20+ 5G enrolled and I am not seeing the same results. Agent versions are the same: MobilControl: 14.4.2.1307 ( Yes I know old we are working on getting our VM servers up to 2016) Location - On Prem Agent Version of Note20: 14.4.3.1074 Agent Version of S10e: 14.4.3.1074 Now clearly we know that these are way 2 different models within the Samsung Line-up. However it seems to me that a simple script would resolve the S10e issue as the Note 20 has no issues at all. Thanks Jason
Hello, we are using Kiosk mode on Zebra TC56 device with android 7.1.2 and Mobicontrol v. 13.5.1 and we have problem with changing default application for messaging (com.android.mms). We have our own app for text messaging and when we start it there is a message "Change SMS app? Use app xy instead of Messaging as you SMS app?". Problem is that this message dissappear immediately (probably security function of Kiosk mode?) and it is not possible to accept the change. When we turn off Kiosk mode as administrator and try to start our app from android enviroment mentioned message (Change SMS app?) doesn't dissappear and we can accept it. But it would be quite hard to do this manual change on about 2k devices in production eviroment. We tried to uncheck "Activity Suppression" in advanced Kiosk mode settings which resolved our current problem. But another problem arose. The new one is with bluetooth pairing. Window with pairing code is somewhere "under" Kiosk mode layer so it is not displayed and we have to turn off Kiosk mode again and check pairing window. Can someone help us with this issue?
