We have all of our devices with feature control to not allow account creation because we do not want unapproved apps installed on our Work Managed Android Enterprise devices. However, I have some users wanting to make voice activated calls using "OK Google" that seems to be dependant on having a personal Google account associated with it. Is there any way to do this without enabling the account creation? I tried saving the contacts directly to the SIM but that does not work either. Google prompts to sign in.
I have a bunch (~30) Samsung phones that are not pulling in details. The things i'm missing changes from device to device. Sometimes it's phone numbers, sometimes IMIE and CCID. Is there a script I can push at the devices to have MobileLink retry pulling that data? Reboots do not fix the problem and the devices have been in the field for months so it's not just a matter of time. These are all Android+ devices running MobiLink 14+.
Good morning everyone, I´ve got a question about device Deployment without Internet access. We are new in the SoTi environment and installed v15.2 last week to use it for remote support our Warehouse WiFi devices. Our devices are from Zebra (TC7x) and Samsung Tablets (testing with Galaxy Tab A 10.1).The firewall IPs are configured on the firewall like in the manualhttps://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.2/en/setup/installing/soti_services.html and a "Global Proxy" is configured in Soti Global Settings. The server itself is running fine and has internet acccess without any problems. The Problem is: We want to deploy the Samsung Tablets in a firewall isolated WiFi without internet access, but access to the SoTi Server. Our local SoTi supporter gave me a script: {"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_TIME_ZONE":"Europe/Amsterdam","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LOCALE":"de_DE","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_HOST":"<PROXY IP>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PROXY_PORT":"<PROXY PORT>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SECURITY_TYPE":"WPA","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_SSID":"<SSID>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_WIFI_PASSWORD":"<PASSWORD>","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_COMPONENT_NAME":"net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.admin.DeviceAdminAdapter","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_SIGNATURE_CHECKSUM":"hn8mSNJMPcovWbnnWrb-uMpWZjNlNp-jyV_2A-Whumc\=", "android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_DEVICE_ADMIN_PACKAGE_DOWNLOAD_LOCATION":"http://<FQDN of INTERNAL HTTP SERVER/PATH/FILE>.apk","android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_SKIP_ENCRYPTION": true,"android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_ADMIN_EXTRAS_BUNDLE": {"enrollmentID":"<ENROLLMENT URL>"}} to create a QR code with a QR code generator software, what we´ve done. When we try to scan this QR code while pressing 3x times the welcome screen on an factory reset device and scan the QR code, it´s stay in "Getting ready for work setup..." and I can see really many connections to the internet which are blocked by the firewall but none to the internal sources.I think this are connections to google play store or anything else.I don´t understand why, because I dep the apk-file locally and also use are proxy which isn´t also working (can´t see any connections to the proxy). I´m sure that we aren´t the only company that want to use Soti on isolated devices/WiFi. The Questions: Is such a scenario working with SoTi?If "Yes", how? What could be your error? The aim need to deploy new Android devices without internet access for the device itself. Grateful for every answer and/or help JayDee
I have a non-gms Zebra TC70x just back from repair with the new display. It has android Oreo for drivers for the new display and can't be downgraded to marshmallow and enrolled as plus to match other devices. When I enroll this device, it does it as work profile. Can I enroll this device as work owned?
Hi, Just asking and wondering if there was a documentation which list all script that we can use with AE devices (enrolled with MobiControl Stage Programmer). I will need to get all script especially the writesecuresetting script. It seems like everybody is sending writesecuresetting script but most of them are only working with Android+ devices... I'm surprised that SOTI didn't make this kind of document easily available. Their website is only showing the simple scripts that everybody knows from Android+ Many Thanks
I am looking for the easiest method to enroll android devices. Please correct me if i am wrong on any of the points below and guide me. I want to use Android Plus mode because 1. it requires the device to be facory reset 2. AP mode supports more functionalities as it is designed specifically for each brand and model sperately where as AE is generic and some functioalities may not be available for some devices. 3 . It is mainly for BYOD work managed devices and doesn't support device admin mode 4 . It requires internet connectivity on the devices as it uses google services So in Android Plus mode, currently i have the option to download the agent from my SOTI server or from SOTI website , but in both cases i have to manually install the agent , also i have to enter the enrollment id manually. Is there any way to hardcode the enrollment ID in the agent and it automatically gets enrolled after the installation ,i.e., without entering the enrollment id manually or scanning ?.Also is there any way to auto install the agent without opening the apk manually ?.I just read about mobicontrol stage, is it a free app comes along with mobicontrol device license Or we have to purchase it seperately ?
Hello everyone. Do you know if it is possible to send a script to modify the status of the ELM or to display an authorization request to activate this function? Android Enterprise 14.2.2.1079 Mobicontrol : 15.2.1.1094 Thank you.
Hi, I'm trying to add the following line below inside my lockdown template but unfortunately it seems like I can't get the status of the agent: <!-- Device info --><table cellpadding="2"cellspacing="2" width="95%" height="15%" align="center" valign="middle" ;> <col width="45%"> <tr> <td align="center" valign="Middle"><strong><FONT size="4" color="#21E118" face="Calibri">Status: %AgentOnline% <p>IP: %IP%</p></FONT></td> <td align="center" valign="Middle" ><strong><FONT size="4" color="18AFE1" face="Calibri">IMEI: %IMEI%</FONT></td> All informations are displayed correctly like IMEI, IP adress except the Agent Online status. This field is mentionned on device details. Thanks
Factory resetting Android tablet with afw#mobicontrol and get the "SSL Handshake Failed" error after entering the enrollment ID. "The cert for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be....." We access our deployment server via the cloud. MobiControl v14.1.5.1284 OS v10 Agent v14.4.0.1028
Hi there, i have again a user-right problem which i want to be solved but get no solution by myself. We use "custom data" and i want our support to be able to see these fields (custom data manager) in device details. I have made a test user which seem to have full access (all boxes are checked for all folders and all permissions) but he can't see these fields. Only if i gave a user "mobicontrol administrator", he can see these fields. I see no difference between those settings. Anyone an idea?
Hello, I want to get device usage data at the group level as well as the usage time of the different apps, specifically chrome. To control the time of use of the devices I have tried to use Device connectivity Activity report, but this measures the time that the device is connected, so if the equipment is locked or charging without anyone using it, it will give me a time of use not real.On the other hand, I have tried to use the foreground App Data collection rule, and I get in each period of time the app that is in the foreground on a certain device. Is there a possibility to convert this into a% usage statistic or graph?I don't know if soti has other simpler methods to know how and how much a device is used (perhaps soti assist), I am still getting too complicated and there are simpler and more effective ways?Any hint is welcome. Im using STI 14.4.9.1034 and Android Enterprise with Android 9.
We are looking for the best way to send text or SMS messages from a few individual users working from a Windows computer to individual Android based scanners in our warehouse. The scanner user would also need to be able to respond back as well. Currently the devices are locked down with a single app WMS only, and they are only able to authenticate to the WMS app. We do have the option to integrate via Active Directory, but we're looking to see what other companies are finding success with.
Hi, I tried to enroll Samsung devices by using afw#mobicontrol but it seems like this enrollment method is disabling most of Android & samsung apps like maps, calendar, gallery... I sent the adb command pm list packages to get all packages from the devices and I tried to add a script like: enable_system_app com.google.android.youtube enable_system_app com.sec.android.gallery3d etc. But unfortunately, this script (which get more than 100 lines) is not executed on preinstall or postintall application. Could someone tell me why? If I try to send this script by using "send script" command it's working. Thanks for your help.
We run MobiControl 14.4 holding around 3600 devices as Android Enterprise (Samsung A10S with Android 9 and 10), without Knox. There is an application that requires to receive specific data from MC in order to proper individualize them. This application, developed by a third party and not published in play store, uses RestrictionsManager procedure to retrieve the required parameters as shown in the picture below. Is there a way to set the restrictions values by script, launch or any other way ? I have seen the possibility in catalog rule, but it applies only when app loads from play store. As such solution already works to Knox MDM and the developer is influent enough to justify to halt MobiControl at the customer, it is a kind o critical.
Greetings, We currently have Zebra TC52's and Samsung Galaxy Tab A that we enroll with no issue and use our Managed Google Play store, but our Zebra TC70's were AOSP devices and were unable to take advantage of the Managed google play store. I have upgraded a TC70 to Android 5.1.1 and switched to a GMS build, following Zebras release note instructions. When I try to use the AFW#mobicontrol tag in the device setup I am prompted with "Android version on this Device is not compatible with work accounts." Everything I can find says that this version of Android should be supported. Is there another avenue to getting these devices on our Managed google play? Are specific devices potentially not supported? Greatly appreciate any insight, and please let me know if I can provide any additional information. Thanks!
