Hello. Our customer is using a couple of Zebra TC52 and do not wan't to to use Gboard while scanning. They don't want it to popup because it will disable a good part of the screen. I solved it by installing Mobicontrol as soft input and then alternate between them in the bottom right corner of the screen. They need Gboard for login and in rare situations. But I want to automate this via StageNow and deliver it via Mobicontrol. To do that I need a Bundle ID for Mobicontrol Keyboard Gboard - com.google.android.inputmethod.latin Mobicontrol Soft Input - ? Example <characteristic type="InputMethodDetails"> <parm name="InputMethodOption" value="4" /> <parm name="InputMethodPackageName" value="com.google.android.inputmethod.latin" /> <parm name="InputMethodClassName" value="com.android.inputmethod.latin.LatinIME" /> </characteristic> BRPelle
Good morning i am currently enrolling some Zebra TC77 devices using afw#mobicontrol. as part of this process the devices are connected to wifi first. the profiles are downloaded and the device is enrolled as expected which include the APN settings for the sim. ideally i need a script i can run whih simply turns off WIFI. this will allow the SIM to connect as the APN settings are now there. however i have tried the following scripts setradioenable wifi 0 - this states it is not supported wifiapenable 0 -does not seem to do anything this has meant that i have had to install the SOTI Settings Manager to allow users to access the wifi settings from the lockdown i now have to remote to each device individually to open the settings and toggle the switch to turn off the wifi. has anyone got any ideas how i can do this bit via a script???? If possible my final element is how can i run this script automatically once the enrollment is completed and all the profiles have been installed??? i already have to run the following scripts as it is not done automatically on enrollment request_appops_permission WRITE_SETTINGS - as this setting is not done automatically reset /S - as it seems the remote plugin and APN only seem to be set correctly after a reset interestingly i cannot seem to run these both in the same script as it never does the soft reset thanks Daryl
Good morning. I am currently configuring some Zebra TC77 devices using afw#mobicontrol to enroll them. this has had its challenges with permission etc but think i am getting there. my query is around email. we have an application which enables the user to send data via email. however the devices states there are no supported email applications. i have since found out that because i have enrolled using this method most system apps are hidden. i know i can enable the relevant apps with a script which is fine (already had to do this for the camera app) my query is what app should i use for email and more importantly how can i set the device up with an email account using the AFW email used to register the device. i need to prevent the users from having to add their own accounts in order to send emails thanks Daryl
Hi All, from time to time i have devices that pull their profile / app updates etc. whilst being in use i.e. using wlan or lte , although profile installation is set to ethernet / lan only. Is this corellated to the device update schedule, so is mobicontrol only taking into account the latest known status of the device and not doing a check-in before trying to install the profile? I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Hi, We got different terminals with Android 8 in the factory and they actually only display in the notification bar the icon of the battery but no his %, i try to find how to configure via StageNow or SOTI that parameter to evade configure the terminals one by one but i cannot find how to make it. Someone know how i can do it?
There is an app whose developer not publish it on Google. It updates itself with no big issues on Android below 9, having the "disable install from unknown sources"unmarked on feature control. On Android 10, the permission of unknown source is set by app and not globally. There is around 3000 devices in our MC and we have granted manually this permission. After the self installation the permission sets back to denied automatically. We have sent some scripts to allow the unknown source installations to a app, but could not find one that properly set it on Android 10. We have already used: enable_system_app app_nameafw_set_permission_grant_state app_name android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES allowafw_set_permission_grant_state app_name android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES allow afw_set_permission_grant_state app_name android.permission.RESTART_PACKAGES allow Does anybody know any android.permission to enable Unknown source. In Android 10 this configuration may be found on Special Permissions screen.
With the SOTI Apps permissions checked in the add device rule is there a way on Android 10 devices to send a script to auto accept those permissions? I'm enrolling Samsung SM-T307U devices and I am curious if there is any new development on this? Below is a reference to recent thread I read about this same topic for more context. https://discussions.soti.net/thread/permissions-2/
If I'm holding the device in my hand and was able to swipe up and the "administrator" and "refresh" button would appear while locked down. Then I would be able to put in the admin password and unlock the device for troubleshooting I can do remotely by pressing the "page up" button It appears after upgrading to Android OS 10 Now I can't unlock the device while in hand, when I swipe up nothing happens I've looked over my profile but can't find anything as of yet My lockdown settings are: Lockdown type: Native with "system information and recents button enabled why can't I swipe up on this device and unlock but when remote controlled I can use page up? thanks

Hello, MobiControl version: 14.4.7 Device OS : Windows Mobile/CE / Desktop We would like to update our Windows 2008 Server to a 2016 version. For internal reasons we prefer to install the new OS completely without using the upgrading path (2008 -> 2012 -> 2016). We will therefore reinstall / reconfigure the server as it is currently (IP address, machine name, network configuration, etc.). Questions : 1. Is there any risk of encountering a problem with the registration key when reinstalling MobiControl (example message: the registration code is already used by another instance)? 2. How will certificates be re-imported into the new MC Admin? Because with a new installation, MobiControl will automatically install a Root Certificate in SHA2 and we will have to modify the Root Certificate to import the one we are currently using (SHA1) and that all our devices know. When exporting, MobiControl seems to only export the public key. Will this be sufficient for the import? Should we export only the current Root Certificate and then import it and rebind it for all Certificate Bindings? Many thanks for all information. Best regards,

Hi, We have an app requiring an update of Google Play Services, but have no managed google play account on the device. Is their a way to administratively solve the google play services update i.e. install apk directly, pushing dummy gmail account etc..? Thanks!

Hi All, We've recently decided to move towards Soti and are currently preparing the environment but we're wondering if we can use a service account to setup managed enterprise? Walking through the bindings it seems the only possibility is by adding it through the Google authentication screen but service accounts aren't accepted there. I would like to prevent we need to create a separate account outside of our Google Enterprise environment to get this working? Reason for the managed enterprise binding is the dedicated devices we want to provision with some public and private play store apps which reside in the organisations Google Enterprise play store.
Hello, we have a problem with phone calls that are launched through our sos app. In case of an alarm, there is an option to automatically call a predefined number for the first response to the victim. We used this feature many times before with other devices also in kiosk mode. The only difference to the device right now is that the current one is enrolled with android enterprise and not with andoid plus like the others before. It seems like the problem lies within kiosk mode because when I'm on the standard android home screen and launch the app the automatic call works perfectly fine again. Then switching to kiosk mode again and doing the exact same thing, the phone call doesn't work. I've noticed that the alarm sound (siren) during the alarm is interrupted 10 sec after the start of the alarm. The same thing happens when the call is started out of kiosk mode. So it seems like it's getting canceled by kiosk. Any ideas whats the problem here? OS Version is android 9, device type and manufacturer is i.safe Mobile IS330.1 Mobicontrol Version is 15.2.4.1138
