Hi , We are using lockdown feature for our android plus devices and i would like to add to the screen the connection type currently in use. I found the macros to display the ip or SSID of the Wi-Fi network but i would like to display the connection type ( 4G or Wi-Fi ) . Is there any macro to do that ? Is there a list with the macros that i can use ? Thanks
We have a script that creates shortcuts on the Android tablets we use and I wanted to find a way of removing any shortcuts we create and also to find a way of adding a single shortcut rather than all. Is there anyway to get the Android Plus device name and write it to a file and call it device.name and place it in a specific folder? Using MobiControl v13.4 For some background info. We use an inhouse app that uses 2 files for configuration. To preconfig the app if I upload both files before hand and then install it works fine (either upload manually or via a profile, profile is our preferred method). The problem is one of these files is supposed to match the Mobi name. This is not something I know how to preconfigure when uploading to 400 devices. Can anyone suggest a way to write the device name to a text file prior to installing the apk? Ideally doing it through a profile/package would be preferred as that way it can be deployed as a required package by our profile.
I managed to find a very useful post on the forum explaining how to use datawedge autoimport functionality. It partially worked for us: the file gets copied into /enterprise/device/settings/datawedge/autoimport/ location and the profile installs (reinstalls) AFTER the reboot. I could not get it to work without rebooting the device. HOWEVER, the profile then does not scan any barcodes!!! The app we use on our guns runs fine, the scanning is recognised (it bleeps when it reads the barcode) but nothing gets populated into the field. If I use exactly the same profile file as the one located in autoimport to manually import datawedge profile, everything works just fine. This makes me think there's nothing wrong with profile file itself. But I've no idea what else could be causing this weird behavior. Any ideas?? Device used is Zebra TC20 and TC51, both running Android 8.1
Hey folks, I'm trying to create a CSV file for bulk import into a Device Relocation rule that SOTI will accept. I'm not sure where it's falling down because I'm providing it what it wants per their documentation. The file I'm testing is just a standard UTF-8/CRLF formatted CSV file with one entry but the only quirk is that I don't need custom data. I would just think the import processor would just drop it. Nevertheless I've tried extra commas, fake data, etc. and it still complains. The error I get is a variation on the following: Please provide custom data or IP range for (). Invalid Destination Path (). Example: \\Company Prod\Retail\001-100\001,10.1.100.1,10.1.100.250[Blank Line]
Hi, We had a licence for SOTI and a management decision was made to not renew the licence earlier this year. I now need to remove SOTI from the devices in a managed way and wondered how to achieve this. Cheers

We have MobiControl version 14.2.0.2894. I have two questions regarding Android 11. 1: We have a File Sync rule defined for nightly sync of data. Will this still work with the new restrictions of Android 11? 2: We have a local DB which we would like to preserve across app updates. Will this be possible? According to the documentation, Android will delete all files related to the app during uninstall.

Hello, I'm trying to create a lockdown profile with an in house app and Google Maps as well. I have the path to the in house app but am struggling to find the path to have a shortcut for Google Maps. Hi all, we have found following problem: We set a device pin with script during device enrollment. Now something strange/bad is happening. If the device is locked (standby etc.) and you delete the device in Soti. The device gets a rollback (correct). But if you now want to unlock the phone, it's impossible because the pin request is still there but no Pin will be accepted. In my opinion there should be only 2 cases: - old Pin or - no Pin request
After some play aroung with application restrictions but not removed anything looks like that some native apps where uninstalled. Any ideas ?
Hey Guys, i hope you can help me. I Use Alert Rule and want to send Emails if the Alert comes Up but it didn't work. I have set the SMTP Profile correct a Test is succeed. That is working, but if the Alert ist triggerd i can See it on the Alert History but didn't get any Email.
