Why when I keep pressing the left Ctrl button at the initiating of the remote of the device, he can not logout the other user from the scanner. (this is as described on the error message when you can not remote a device due to another user is logged on it)?
Hi Guys, Is this possible (I am not aware of this option): Is there an option to limit Devices per User, so that one Useraccount e.g. only have two devices registered? We're using authentication within the Add_Device Rule. Is there any change to set up a limit so that one AD-User can only register one Device with his credentials and "block" the authentication for a second or third device? MC-Version: 14.4.9.1034
Hello, I seen some topics on this subject but I haven't found an answer. Is that possible to disable the Airplane Mode on a version 14.3.3.1111 of MC (AE Device Owner) so if users accidentally click on it when they want to power off the device it has no impact. Thank you
Hi, I'm posting on the forum to know if any of you have already set up / used the time synchronization via an external NTP server (not via the DS MobiControl). If this is the case, do you have any configuration recommendations? How to determine the periodicity at which the MobiControl server synchronizes with the NTP server ? Also, do you have any feedback on the use of this time synchronization method? Is it reliable? (I read the page https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v14.3/en/console/reference/dialogs/devicesettings/devicetimesynchronization.html) Many thanks for your feedback / recommendations. (For information we have 1800+ devices enrolled via AE DO method) BR, Yoan
Hello, Moreso a general management question, curious what others do. We are starting to get from a casual SOTI user to running nearly a thousand devices in the future. We have around 6 or 7 apps we push to devices that regularly require updates. In the past I've been simply using separate kiosk profiles and then a package profile (so 2 per device) with each of our locations having a dedicated package profile. That way, we could test package updates in one location before pushing it out to the rest. However updating 40 locations individually for packages is a pain. So I was thinking of just having a test package profile, and then a production package profile and applying the test to one to an OU while deassigning the prod profile. But removing profiles, adding new ones and switching it around seems risky. Other possibility is having a package profile for each of our apps, and setting the packages to never uninstall upon revocation. Then, for testing, I could just deassign it from all locations and assign it to our testing, then switch it back to all location for prod. Devices with the app shouldn't have it removed, but then again I'm not sure I want to test that on a large scale. TL;DR how do people manage dozens of locations as well as multiple kiosks/packages profiles in SOTI efficiently?
Hi, One of our partners provided us with an application to install for a new Warehouse. I like when the staging in fully automated. In that case i need to manually open the app for the first time and click on "allow modify system setting and Allow display over other apps". It is possible in my package to include a script that allow those tow settings? Or it's need to be hardcoded in the APK? Thanks
Hi! First of all: A SOTI case is open, but I would like to check, if anybody can help or experienced the same problem. :( Scenario: - MS (Windows Server 2012 R2)- 2x DS (Windows Server 2012 R2) Because of the Apple APNS change coming this November, we decided to add new machines (MS + 2x DS) with OS Windows Server 2016. We installed MC. Everything was running fine. So we decided to "turn off" the old MS and DS. When running only with "new" DS we discovered that only a few iOS devices are properly checking in to MobiControl clientlessly via APNS. When turning on one of the "old" DS, the check-ins are performed immediately. On ALL DS. So, in current state the "old" DS is still needed for checking in the Apple devices.:( Firewalls are open on all necessary ports (also 2195/2196 to Apple APNS service). We double checked this with Wireshark. Can you explain what's going on here? MC version: 14.4.1 Regards,Simon
Does anyone know if there is still a feature request put in to update the limit to the number of app catalog rules you can have per enterprise binding for Android Enterprise? I know it is no longer a limitation with Google as Intune allows us to have unlimited assigned apps. Intune does not work exactly like Soti in that it does not do app catalog rules per say but each app is assigned to users via groups in Intune individually while in SOTI you have to assign apps to a catalog rule and then assign the rule to a folder. However we have hit a limit where on 15.1.2 we can still only have 30 total app catalog rules per enterprise binding. We do not want to have to maintain separate enterprise bindings as that would cause us to have to wipe and re-enroll devices to move them to a separate binding. If this is not still in a future release then please add it. Thanks, Allen.
Hello, We use the update schedule in MC 14.7 to run a rule to upload and execute a xml file which will the in return update our Zebra android devices, I am looking for the update schedules of each group/device in the MC SQL Database, I need this to be able to send a reminder to the device users that the update will happen and they need to ensure the devices are powered on. I looked but couldn't find this in the SQL DB, has anyone ever seen this update schedules somewhere in the DB?
We would like to setup an alert of possibly a report to track messages sent to devices. Ideally if we could isolate "key" words for an alert that would be great but I wanted to see if we would be able to setup a report as I believe that might be easier
Hello everyone, I'm currently running Soti Mobicontrol (version 15.0.0.6019) on a Windows 2012 r2 server. Since i manage some iOS devices i understand that i need to upgrade to 15.2.0 before 1st November. After reading the release notes for 15.2.0 i can see that the minimum system requirements have been updated to Windows Server 2016 and Microsoft SQL Server 2016 SP2 So therefor i have choice to make: 1. Do a in-place upgrade of my current server to Windows 2016 and also upgrade from SQL Express to SQL Server 2016. 2. Create a new server (2016 or 2019) and export all current settings & DB to the new server. I guess the In-place upgrade is the easiest way going forward? Anyone have any experience with In-place upgrade of the server and the knows what pitfalls i should try to avoid? I have tried to find any information here in the Forum and also on Soti.net, but maybe i just don't looking closely enough, or there aren't any information available on this topic? So any idea's are highly appreciated.
Hello, i am running MC v15.2.0.4819 on premise as a virtual machine (virtualbox). When i am trying to add my directory service ldap then i am getting an internalerror message from mobicontrol. I thought i was just unlucky with some configurations...but it happened on a different machine too. Same version on premisebut different network. So i think there is a problem with mobicontrol? Has someone the same experience?
Hi all, I am currently working on SOTI version 14.2.3.1069, attampting to pull out the MAC from 100 devices on one of my deployments. All the devices are Android OS 7.1.2 with MOBI Control 14.0.0 deployed. I tried the following but currently not getting any information back: 1. Selected the following from the filter list in the display page: - MAC Address 2. Drilled into a few devices and can see the following in the Device Details section This doesnt return anything 3. Ran a Device Information Report, wihc returns the MAC address as Unknown Is there something I am missing, or something I need to do SOTI side to pull this data at all? Regards Wayne
I want to use the tablet on a horizontal screen all the time. What definition should I make for this?
I'm looking for an easy, ad-hoc method to remove a file from an Android Enterprise device using scripts. In the past, the "del" command was supposed to work, but no more. http://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.2/en/scriptcmds/reference/androidplus_enterprise_do.html
