We have a device that is throwing the error "Samsung ELM license activation failed". This hasn't happened to any of our other 100+ samsung devices. I'm finding nothing about this error online. Anyone know how to correct this?
It was brought to our attention that certain versions of MC have already started alerting on the MC web console that the DSE cert is expiring in 90 days. We are aware of the certificate expiry notification and like every year, SOTI will renew the certs and roll it out on all servers before the expiry. There is NO immediate action required from customers or our support/PS at the moment. As we are currently managing the cloud instances, SOTI will be renewing the certificates. Regards,
Hello, I am installing version 13.2 of MobiControl, to manage Android devices which are not certified by Soti (using Generic Android Agent). But after setting up the server, and activating using Eval key, i do not find the tab where i can manage Generic Android Devices. I believe that i should find this category, or this tab But in my case, i do not find it: I ask if there is, some twikes or changes that i should make to get what i am looking for. Thank you in advance,
Is there a way to select more than one group when setting up a location report? reason i ask is because we have multiple groups for all our different warehouses. i am needing to run a location report on several devices located in different groups. is there anyway to select multiple devices for one report? or will i have to schedule an individual report for each device?
If the device name used in the ADD DEVICE RULE is updated to a NEW device name, would new devices enrolled after the device name was changed enroll with the older device name or the updated device name? For instance, if the name originally configured in the ADR was "TC57_%ESN%", and the MCSETUP.ini file was downloaded and being used. At some point the ADR is updated and the new device name is now "TC57_%SerialNumber% but the MCSETUP.ini file is NOT re-downloaded. What would the device name of newly enrolled devices be if the original MCSETUP.ini file is still being used? Would SOTI set the device name to the updated ADR configuration or would the MCSETUP.ini configuration be used?
Hi, Some of our customers are asking to know the bluetooth device that their devices are connected to. I can't see this included in any reports and I can't see it on the listed information for an individual device. The devices are Android Plus and are running Android 5.0. The MobiControl Agent they're running is 13.3.2.1014.
I am trying to block users from using certain apps that are siphoning our data pool when roaming. Where do you find the Bundle ID for an app like YouTube, Netflix or Facebook?
My client has On Premise installation, and i use enrollment URL & their close network to enroll the device to MC. Their device is Honeywell CT50 and i enroll it to A+. one strange thing is, 2 device can't enroll to the MC after i wrote down the enrollment URL in MC apps (while use close network). So i change the network, i use the WiFi, and suddenly it works, the device enroll to MC. It make me confuse since it's on Prem, so i dont think the open network can read the server. is there any particular thing that i need to check? the device going well, nothing happened after the enrollment, but i just want to share it here to prevent some future problem. Thank!
So the general idea of this is that a group of people will publish PDF documents (Right now they just put them on a shared company network drive). Users on the floor using our Android devices will be able to scan a QR Code at a station which will bring up one of the PDF documents. The issues I am running into are: Best way to publish these PDF Documents to be accessed by Android Devices Best way to Scan and open these PDF documents on the Android Device I already have this working but I feel like it can work better. Currently users just update PDF documents on their PC's that are stored in a shared network folder. That file server has FTP turned on so then I create a QR Code FTP link (ftp://username:password@server/test.pdf). On the Android device they open Chrome and scan the QR code into the address bar. The PDF downloads and they have to pull down the notification bar to open and view the PDF. Using a Windows 10 tablet, I like how I can just use Chrome and scan a link (file://servername/path/tofile/test.pdf) and it will preview the file without downloading it. If someone has done this or knows a way to do this kind of thing on Android I would love to hear how. Thanks!

Hi All, We have a situation where the Location Service is not working in one of the production instances ( we use Android+ devices ). We do observe the below error in the Management Service logs every time we click "Location" on a device . We have another instance where the location tracking works perfectly. tried to check both the instances for any difference, but no luck so far. Any direction on where to look for or what could be the issue would be highly appreciated. ************************************* [2019-12-10 17:29:52.638] ERROR [MapsCredentialController.GetMapsKey] [8ca3dd37-9036-4411-9bf8-6244307c0ee6] (185): *************************** Exception: Bad Data. ***************************[CryptographicException: Bad Data.] at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException.ThrowCryptographicException(Int32 hr) at System.Security.Cryptography.Utils._DecryptData(SafeKeyHandle hKey, Byte[] data, Int32 ib, Int32 cb, Byte[]& outputBuffer, Int32 outputOffset, PaddingMode PaddingMode, Boolean fDone) at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptoAPITransform.TransformFinalBlock(Byte[] inputBuffer, Int32 inputOffset, Int32 inputCount) at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptoStream.FlushFinalBlock() at System.Security.Cryptography.CryptoStream.Dispose(Boolean disposing) at System.IO.Stream.Close() **************************************
We have an all Android for Work tablet environment. We have asset tags that will be using an alpha-numeric string of characters such as "Device 001" etc. How can I associate one of these asset tags to a device in my Soti console either during enrollment or after the device is enrolled? I saw the Custom Data field option, but the instructions for using those 3 fields read to me like they can only be associated to a data point already on the devices. Ideally, I'd like a field I can upload a CSV file or similar to because I am going to need to associate multiple thousands of devices & asset tags to each other.

Hello Guys, we have an problem with the MobiControl Cloud Link. The cloud connector is successfully installed on a host in the DMZ. But when we add the required data to a Mobicontrol cloud and start the test, it fails directly. Here's what we did: we created an windows server 2019 in the DMZ. we have set up a forwarding in the firewall to the windows server in the dmz (Port 443) In the next step, we created a official certificate for the FQDN on the windows server. (scc.hst.de) So if we connect to https://scc.hst.de it works. We installed the Cloud Connector in the first attempt directly from our Soti Cloud(later we installed a newer version from the Soti Manuell page) "But when we add the required data to a Mobicontrol cloud and start the test, it fails directly." We dont know why, needs the test connection more ports then 443? If we test the connection, it fails directly like this: And yes, we tested with this config also all Authentification Methods from the Cloud link Connector.. We also did a wireshark test, to see if anything gets through to the windows Server. And yes it did. From the Soti Cloud until the windows Server. The MS log says:[EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening at https://scc.hst.de/cla/RDS that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. We've temporarily blocked the access(443) until we can test again.
