The issue I'm having is slightly different from the one reported by Stefan Devernon 4 days ago titled "Soti MobiControl Lockdown Profile and recently used apps", so I'm creating this new topic. On Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 tablets (SM-T395) running on Android 9, Recently Used Apps changes its behavior when in lockdown mode. Normally, the different active applications are shown in a horizontal row. Once in Lockdown, they get shown in a vertical row (scroll-able). That's fine though, it's not the issue we're having problems with. In Lockdown mode, normally only one application gets shown in Recently Used Apps and it's the application that you most recently had open. If there's another application running in foreground mode (for instance, our own FMS app), that'll show up here as well. Is there a way of showing more recent apps here? Nevertheless, that's still not the main issue. We use 6 apps on Lockdown mode and our customers would like to be able to switch between them. One of them is Google Maps, which is used for navigating. Now when you use Recently Used Apps to switch to another app, Google Maps gets closed automatically since Recently Used Apps only allows one active app. As a result, truck drivers have to restart Google Maps manually and fill in their destination again. You can imagine this can become quite tedious. Using Lockdown > Advanced > Samsung Package Disabling, we can disable Recently Used Apps entirely. That'll get rid of this confusing behavior, but isn't a solution. Using the Home-button to switch between apps will still get Google Maps killed. Is there a way of allowing Recently Used Apps to show more applications at a time, without applications getting killed in the background? Preferably in such a way that it doesn't show application that were opened whilst in Admin mode? We're using MobiControl 14.3.1.1189 and Samsung ELM agent 13.7.5.1013.
Dear Supporter My server is 13.4 MobiControl and installed SOTI Assist SetupSOTIAssist-1.5.1.64. Error : WebSocket closed Normally. So I cannot use the remote session with HTML5 over 1min. What is the problem? Is this configuration issue? Thank you David Park

I have a list of approx 150 devices that we need to remove a profile from. Is there a way to do this via script to avoid having to go to each device individually or searching for the device manually in the assign section of the profile? Regards, Johnathon
Hi, As the device ID is mandatory to manage the devices through API, we would like to display it on the lockdown. If possible to display a QR code corresponding to the device ID would be perfect. Server version is 13.4.0.5290 and agent version is 13.5.1.1044 (Tomtom Bridge Tablet Android +) Thank you in advance for your help
Hi all, Looking for feedback on some best practises regarding the disabling of a device, in this case an MC40 for a user. Current options would be: 1) Factory Reset - this would return the device to it's original state, but leave the device open for the user to connect to WIFI, use camera, change settings etc. Trying to avoid this if possible. 2) Uninstall all apps, apply generic blank MobiControl lockdown profile. This leaves the MobiControl profile active and communicating back to our deployment servers. Not sure if this is what I want to have happen either. 3) Uninstall all apps, set a different device PIN and then uninstall or wipe the MobiControl application as the last step in the process. Option 3 is what I'm currently considering but does anyone have any better recommendations?
Within the coming months, my company will be moving from Windows to Chrome OS and I can't seem to find an alternative way to build a package without MC Studio.exe. Any thoughts or suggestions? Many thanks, John
Evaluating Honeywell Android VM1A. This is my first android device that I have tried to add to our mobicontrol server. I can get the agent installed and get remote view only to the terminal. Through all my efforts I have been unable to get full remote control to the device like I have with all my windows CE and windows mobile devices. Have opened previous ticket with Soti but have been unable to get this resolved. Running Soti MobiControl version 13.4.0.5121. Agent on the Honeywell VM1A is below Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
We are on Mobicontrol Cloud 14.3.2.1171 using Samsung Tab S2 and Tab S4 Android tablets. I have a data collection rule set to gather data for available memory, battery percentage, location, signal strength, and a few other of the configurable items. We sometimes encounter situation where we are troubleshooting user complaints and when we go to see where the tablet has been, what the connectivity was like, etc we frequently see that we are missing collected data for the previous week or longer even though the device has been checking in during that time. Our data collection rule is set to run every 20 minutes, and due to server activity we have put the devices into different groups, exh with their own schedule, to stagger the collections so we aren't running the rule on every device at the same time. Looking at device logs it will often reveal that the device is connecting and disconnecting frequently so my theory is that the devices are seldom online when the rule actually runs, or that it disconnects before the rule is completed. We have tried to leverage the out of contact rule but that only tells us if the device connected at all, not that it was persistently connected and able to do it's routine housework. Ideally we could make use of an alert that tells us if there has been no collected data for n-days and run it only against devices that were also "active" (connected at all) during that same interval. Such a tool would allow us to not only proactively ensure we aren't missing any data but to know soon after the device goes dark that we need to take corrective action. We just ran into a situation where a device was lost or stolen and after the fact we find that we haven't had any location data for 10 days. This is just one example, of course. I don't see where the current array of alerts or reports allow us to get this information, can anyone suggest a way for us to do this? Many thanks, Matt
Hi, we have 2 x end users with the exact same devices, identical setup in MobiControl, one experiencing unusual behaviour, the other business as usual. Problem device beeps for around 1 minute each time it receives a message and or email. Not really sure what I can do to fix the problem as both are setup in the same way?
Hi, We have a Zebra TC57 running android V8.1. without a lockdown users can access the play store and can remove mandatory apps. previously it came with a banner saying this is mandatory and you cannot uninstall. Agent version is 13.7.6.1004. am i missing a flag or something? Thanks Tom
Hi everybody! At the moment I am testing around with the possibilities of Android Enterprise. I just successfully enrolled a Samsung device with Android Enterprise and "Work Profile" mode. How can I enroll such a device in AE Device Owner mode? I factory resetted the device. And what now? :)
Hi, usually we are using the Enterprise Home Screen with our Zebra devices. Now we got some Panasonic tablets (FZ-A2A) and there the Lockdown Profile of Soti MobiControl is used. Version of MobiControl: 14.3.0.3144 Agent Version: 13.7.0.1031 On the Lockdown Screen are 2 symbols. If I click the "recently used apps" button on the right (the square), normally I get all opened applications. The problem is that the Lockscreen will be pushed over the app overview immediately. No app can be closed. Is there a way to "delay" the Lockdown screen here or is there an option that the "recently used app" window is allowed on the Lockdown screen? Thanks for your help. Stefan
This may be related to my other question about Custom Data not being updated.... but I will ask anyway. I have an application on my devices that I just received an update for. After I updated the profile, the application would not update. I have questions out to the developers to find out whether they built the application differently (signing), but have not heard back yet. I removed the profile from the device and the application deleted on the device, but that Application list did not update (after the required checkin). So Mobicontrol still thinks it is installed. When I try to install the updated version, the update fails as it thinks the application is already installed. Server: 14.1.2 Agent 1360_1662 Device: Zebra TC77 OS: Oreo Management Method: AEDO Environment: Not Using Google Play Store Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Jim
Hi, Where apps are suggested on the device? I installed Mobicontrol app but I cannot see Suggested apps into it. Is there another app to install? or a Web Clip to push? I found nothing into the documentation. Thanks!
