Soti Mobicontrol 14.4 alert rules and syslog (or snmp, etc..)

Reading the doc and making some tests it seems that alert rules can only have "send email" as action when the condition is triggered. Is it possible to perform different actions from send an email? For example sending the alert info to a syslog server or to a snmp server, etc. I tried to configure a syslog server as global settings but mobicontrol doesn't send any information when an alert rule is triggered, I only have a message when the alert rule is configured on the device: Jul 11 09:48:28 SERVER MobiControl[7844] [Device, Information, DeviceAlertConfigured] Device Status and Custom Data alert configured (1 alert) (Server/DeviceID/UserName:SERVER/359937067178731/System)#015 Thanks for the attention!

PIN code on boot? Solved Locked

Hi! When we use the script "resetpassword xxxx" on our TC56 devices running on Android 7+ we also get the setting for PIN on device boot enabled. When setting this manually we get the question if we want to use the PIN even for device boot. Is it possible for MobiControl to not set the PIN for device boot as well?

SOTI Samsung Agent 13.7.5.1013 (ELM) - Does not finish enrolling?

Hi Wondered if anyone has had any trouble with SOTI Samsung Agent 13.7.5.1013 (ELM) - I find that when a device is enrolled it keeps trying to enrol over and over. The event log always shows connecting to mc-enroll.soti.net, it connects and enrolls but then a few minutes later wants to enrol again. Instead of agent connecting to our deployment server it only connects to mc-enroll.soti.net. Downgrading agent to 13.6.0 and everything works fine. Wonder if there is some change that has been made in 13.7.5 that causes this behaviour..

    Android+ CPU and Memory Usage

Is there anyway of monitoring CPU usage and memory usage on Android+? Ideally i want to be able to set a data collection rule to track and store these., better yet be able to see these details per device.I'm currently on v13.4 and I cannot upgrade beyond this due to limitations of a legacy system we use. We are potentially looking at moving all newer devices to a v14.x install but that is months away and not a consideration fr here.

Please give usage stats permission - How anyone found a way to automatically allow this permission?

Hi all,  I am still experiencing the problem where Android Enterprise devices (SOTI Agents) are asking for manual agreement of the usage stats permission. This is on all makes and models of smartphones and tablets that I have. (e.g. LG/SONY/Samsung/Zebra)  I also use the latest agents and plugins with SOTI v14.3.4 (on-prem). I have with testing found that there are triggers which seem to force the agent to request the permission are; - Various items in a Data Collection Rule - A script / profile using manualblacklist Has anyone found any other triggers or how to automatically approve the permission?  The info at https://discussions.soti.net/kb/unable-to-obtain-usage-access-permission-silently-on-android-enterprise does not help unfortunately. I am moving to Zero-Touch and so I need to reduce the complications that end users will have. John.

    Script updates

Hi i know you can apply updates to a device by to first transfer the firmware files to the device via a Package or a File Sync Rule.  then use the script "install_system_update /sdcard/YOURUPDATE.zip" However for my Samsung A40 android devices i am unable to find the downloads for the individual Android Security Updates The Samsung site does a job job talking about the updates etc here https://security.samsungmobile.com/securityUpdate.smsb but then dont give a location. I know Samsung offer a service to control updates to devices which is chargable approx $10 per device, so this is a costly way of managing them. Any one have any ideas where i can get them? Thanks

Using MobiControl Stage for loading additional apps Solved

Hello, I am pretty new to the Soti platform so perhaps this idea does not work. I would like to place a couple of devices in a device group staging where they reside until someone needs a hand scanner with a specific app. In case the scanner is needed, I would like to scan a barcode with the MobiControl stage and the device gets relocated to the appropriate device group for this app. The devices a Datalogic windows (CE, WEC70) so I must prepare them with the Soti Agent and the Stage Agent once to bring them in the staging device group. Any ideas how this can be done ? Thanks Chris

Does Soti support MFA (Multi-factor Authentication) on IOS devices?

Hi, We would like to know if Soti is capable of creating Exchange Profiles using ‘Modern Authentication’ When you manual configure a new Exchange Profile in your IOS device (settings à accounts à NEW account à Excange) you need to enter an e-mail adres and description. IOS will then redirect you to the authentication provider as configured (this could be an ADFS server). When configuring IOS Exchange using above procedure you are using ‘Modern Authentication’ When configuring an Exhange Profile using a Soti Profile you are basically configuring the profile using ‘Basic Authentication’. When using basic authentication you cannot use the additional security features provided by Microsoft or on-premise, like MFA. At this moment we are implementing DUO MFA which requires the use of ‘Modern Authentication’. All phones deployed with a SOTI Exchange Profile do not work unless we remove the SOTI profile and create the profile as described with the Modern Authentication. https://help.duo.com/s/article/4419?language=en_US Please advise. Thank you. Erik
