Hello, I have a problem with home button on kiosk mode with Samsung Galaxy A6. When i exit kiosk via profile revocation or admin password and i reactivate it, the home button don't work on any application of the kiosk. so i have to kill application in order to return on kiosk mode. I have tried different settings on Advanced Kiosk Settings, with no result. I can display a floating home button but it's not very useful. In the Windows CE world, I always manually controlled when my applications updated in MobiControl by moving devices to new release folders. Yeah, I know that is not how most installations do it. I did this for several reasons. The first devices I managed (Psion 7530/7535s) were highly unreliable on their installations. Under Windows CE the executable sizes were small and finally I found the scheduling in the early versions of MobiControl to be unreliable with Windows CE. Now I am diving into the Android world with both feet due to the shutdown of 3G Cell. While it seems Android is more reliable about installations, the install size of the applications is huge compared to Windows CE and let's not talk about patch sizes. My issue is that my devices are very often stored in areas that contain a lot of concrete and steel which by nature makes cell connections hit and miss. All devices are supposed to be put in networked cradles every night, but we all know how that goes :-/. So I have come to the conclusion that I NEED to evaluate methods of utilizing the options within MobiControl that allow for a scheduled delivery. What I would like to accomplish is to have a profile with the new versions of my applications get pre-staged on the device and then when the time comes that I what them installed, the installation gets triggered and the installation happens quickly. I thought I had figured it out and attempted to set up an install using scheduled profiles for tonight. What a mess! Fortunately I am still in the the 100+ devices, but over the next month I will be sitting with over 1000 devices. Since the Agile development is going on, everyone things that we can have deployments every two weeks...... in my opinion not a pretty site. My problem tonight what that I had Profile A with version 1 of the app and I attempted to assign Profile B with version 2 of the app. I set an install date far into the future as I only wanted the apps to download but not install. My plan was to replace Profile B with a Clone of Profile B without the schedule associated with it. I didn't get to first base as Profile B failed because it said the a version of the application already existed on the device. I thought I had this whole thing worked out in my Dev environment. So, I am looking for advise, how are others accomplishing this. My applications are line of business applications and the versions that are supported are tightly controlled by the development teams (they rarely support more than 1 version). hei i just enrolled my laptop (windows 10) and now i want to push app use Rule App Catalog.. i already made the Rule, and choose the msi file with command /quiet.. (i wish silent installation in my laptop).. but after assign the rule, the program (i test with Opera program) status only "installing" and it never change to installed.. Anyone facing the same problem?
Does anyone have documentation on the format of Zebra / SOTI .upl file? I would like to do several Android patches at one time and am trying to user an .upl file. The issue I have is that I am not storing the patches on the root of the SDCARD but in /SDCARD/Patches. I am not quite sure how to correctly specify the path. Thoughts? Thanks.
Is there a method for disabling Play Protect beyond these two scripts? I have tried both on an AEDO TC52 and neither seem to disable Play Protect. We are currently looking into the possibility of automatically sending a message to an Android device. Basically once an event occurs on our ERP system we want to send out a message to the Android device of the user that their request is ready. Is there some way to automate sending messages to users based in defined criteria? And is it possible to integrate this with an Oracle ERP system?
Hello all, we work with mobicontrol on version 13.3.3454 Our device is zebra tc75x under android 6 and 7 If is possible to plan an installation of a profile at a certain time ? I would like to configure a profile for to install it a package on the monday (3 AM) for example .. Is it possible ? thanks
I'm new to MobiControl and to the scripts but having read the reference guide I don't think I'm making any rookie mistake, but please enlighten me! I'm trying to find out when a device (Samsung A6- SM-A600FN) is turned off and on, one rough way of doing this seems to be checking when a device gets switched to "User mode" (seems to always occur when a phone boots). There doesn't seem to be a built in way of alerting for this, so I thought maybe scripts would be a good place to start and then see if I can send an email alert or report from there. I can see the event in the log already but ideally I need some alert for this, as any occasion this occurs during the working day would be suspicious for us. Hell all, we work with mobicontrol in version 13.3.0.3454 Our device are zebra tc75x with android 6 and 7 enroll with android + the client mobicontrol is on version : 13.6.0.1476 I would like to get a report with the device name and the phone number. But, after have checked the column -> phone number in the admin console I've seen that this column is ALWAYS empty ... Of course, we have a sim card inside each device and it's possible to call these device -> no restriction, How I can display the phone number in the administration console ? thanks for your help
Fairly new to MobiControl and looking for some advice/suggestions around providing End Users of Kiosk mode devices, the ability to connect to a unique Wifi access points. As our devices are in Kiosk mode, the end user hasn’t got the ability to configure the device to connect to a Wifi access point. Basically the Kiosk lockdown screen overrides the ability to enter the credentials of the access point into the applicable settings window. Further to this, the environment which we operate is very much adhoc in nature. That is:• Details of the Wifi access points are not always predefined. (so pre-configuration not possible)• The number of available Wifi access points is fairly large. Background:We utilize approximately 40 Panasonic FZ-A2 tablets in fire fighting aircraft. As you can imagine, these devices are highly mobile and don’t necessarily remain in one district or region. Our primary method of connectivity is via cellular. However, whenever a devices isn’t airborne, we wish to try and utilize a local Wifi access point. Unfortunately there’s approximately 160 different access points which exist across our area of operations. To further complicate things, the Wifi access points are provided by different government organizations and/or supporting service providers. Setup:Hosted MobiControl Ver. 14.1.8.1064Panasonic FZ-A2, Android Enterprise, Agent Version 13.7.0 Build 1031, Kiosk mode enabled. Just looking for some advice on whether I’m approach this correctly and whether there would be a work around. (other than utilizing a third party application) Thanks in advance.
Hi, Any suggestions as to why Zebra devices wont enable network interfaces before a PIN has been entered? We are requiring a device PIN due to a certificate profile on the device. However when soft resetting the device, we are prompted for device pin (naturally). However the network interfaces are not enabled until the PIN has been entered, thus effectively cutting of a branch for the mobicontrol administrator. (The devices still have an administrative WPA2 network available). This is not the case for Samsung devices, they will activate interfaces to the network just fine before entering PIN. Any suggestions or workarounds?
Hello everybody, I'm encountering a problem with the remote control functionality on Zebra TC57 and Zebra TC77 devices. On our end, the remote control (both via HTML5 and the legacy downloadable plugin) shows a black screen inside the device skin. Yet if we click somewhere in that black screen, the remote control does actually work and we're able to control the device. Its screen just will not show. So if we haven't got the device itself nearby, we can't see what we're doing. Here's what we're using: MobiControl version: 14.3.1.1189 (cloud-based)Zebra TC57 and Zebra TC77Android 8.1.0, OEM version 01-13-20.00-OG-U12-STDAgent version: 13.7.0.1031 (GoogleMobiControl1370_1031.apk, DO mode)Remote control version 1.15.3.109 ("MDMPlugin_Notification" v1.0 from Zebra_Hawkeye_RC_AE_1.6.0.102.pcg) Any ideas? When I try to edit a profile in 14.3, I get the error "Failed to load Profile Configuration data. Please try again." It appears that the profile opens for as well. I do not like the fact that I am getting error. I saw it first on 14.3.0 and it remains on 14.3.2.1171. Does anyone know what is going on? I would like to get to 14.3, but I need to know what is going on first.
