Hello all, Fairly simple question probably...while I'm not bad with EMM's, I'm new to SOTI. Where do I go for the 'Import file' dialog? I'm trying to add a custom attribute...let's say phone extension, just for s/g. Go to server - Manage Custom Attributes, add my field...but I'm just not finding that 'Import File' option around that I've seen in the help and referenced here in the forums. So is this because I'm in a created account and not the 'Admin' account, or have I just not found it yet? Or does it require a secret password from that wizard I've heard about? -tool
Hey all, I am using application run control to blacklist applications on my device which is working fine until I blacklist the Google Play Store. This is a work managed device delivering in-house applications so I don't need the Play Store to be active. However when I try to deploy an application to the device with the Play store disabled the package fails to install. Does the play store have to be active or how do you go about removing the play store from the device without interfering with in house managed applications? Thanks!
Our company has announced that we will be moving away from Microsoft OS into the Chrome OS platform for all our desktops/laptops sometime this year. I have a laptop that has Chrome OS and I see the file used for the remote control plugin is a msi file that cant be opened with Chrome OS. How can we use the remote control feature running Chrome OS?
I come from the Window Mobile world of MobiControl and trying to find information on requesting a file sync via a script. With WM I could use CommLoader.exe -syncfile to force a sync. I'm not sure if there is an Android equivalent.
Dear All, is there any limit for number of web console users ?
We're using the lockdown screen in Windows 10 Embedded and the default onscreen keyboard you can turn on and off is tiny and you can't seem to do anything with the size of it. If users use this tablet with an external keyboard plugged into our cradle, then it's almost unusable. Do I just need to find an external keyboard and bring it in as an application? Wasn't sure how this would work in lockdown if we want to use it with the apps we launch. Will the new app be the primary window and throw the keyboard app behind? Just looking for a way to solve this. Maybe I'm missing something with the keyboard built in. Version - 14.2.1.4394 Windows Desktop Classic Thanks in advance for your assistance.
This has been an ongoing frustration since the Version 11 days (we're on 14.2 now), it doesn't matter which computer I use no matter how many times I download and install the legacy remote and restart my browser I get prompted again the next time to do the same. My IT department fixed it on my work laptop and I had it working on my home machines but maybe a Windows or Chrome update borked something because I can't make it work. I need the legacy control because I need the Application Manager capability which the HTML5 version lacks. What can I do to fix this? Thank you, Matt (if it matters we are in the Mobicontrol cloud)
Hi, I've been deploying a few Zebra devices which are using Android 8.1, for instance the TC57 model. When viewing the device in Soti MobiControl, I only get the option to view the device (i.e. "Remote View" and "Remote View (HTML5)"), but not the "Remote Control" option I've previously seen for devices with older versions of Android. Are there any specific steps I need to take in order to enable the "Remote Control" functionality? Regards, Daníel
Hi, we have a mobicontrol v14.2 platform and we recently enrolled our company pcs (Lenovo Thinkpad T480 Windows 10). We created some profiles containing custom packages to install applications and perform some powershell scripting. All the packages are installed in a specific order using dependencies in the profiles configuration. Sometimes some devices report this errors in the logs: Profile "XYWZ" version 2 failed to install, because all of its payloads cannot be installed. And after that log the device uninstall all the previous packages: Package "X" version 0.0.4 has been uninstalledPackage "Y" version 0.0.3 has been uninstalledPackage "Z" version 0.0.1 has been uninstalledPackage "W" version 0.0.1 has been uninstalled ....and so on till the first package of the first profile Do you know why this happen? Are we using depencies uncorrectly? In our case dependencies are required to prevent installation conflicts during the applications deploy. To prevent this behaviour we tried to deselect the flag "Uninstall package contents upon profile revocation or deletion" in the options during the profile assignment but it didn't change nothing. Is there a solution for this? Thanks Regards
Hi, I need to deploy a new Samsung device agent version to all of our new devices going out. How do I go about changing the version of Android device agent that's attached to an add devices rule? I can't seem to find this anywhere. As a follow-up question, is there any cross-reference document of supported device versions per server version?
Hi All, we are using the SOTI Lockdown Screen with the status bar disabled. We are looking forward to also hide the status bar in order to make the hole screen a little bit prettier. The question is can we show the Information of Battery Status, Wifi-Status and Time display on the Screen without an extreme effort? Would be great if you could give me a short hint on how to do this. Thanks, Steve
Hi! I have looked at the different posts about this and also in the documentation and the scripts documentation. I can´t seem to find information about the specific 90 days block that by all the information given by Google and SOTI, should be able to be deployed to the devices running as a Work Managed Device. Is this sent with the set_system_update_policy command or a FeatureControl script command? And is there any way of checking how many days left on the block?

Hi All, Wondering if anyone else has this odd problem I noticed this week. In this example I have two lockdown profiles. One is across the bulk of my estate but I have a new one with extra functionality that I am rolling out in a staggered manner. (for pilots and whatnot). In order to control that activity i started to use a custom attribute and I set the new profile to apply with the filter criteria myAttrib = "new" and i update the main profile's criteria to myAttrib does not contain "new" That worked for a while and for a small number of our stores I could just update the attribute at the Device Group level and all the devices in that store would switch profiles. For main rollout I decided to be clever and use a boolean value as my custom attribute instead. This way I should just scroll through my device groups and click the tickbox to mark as true instead of having to type. (my 13.4 version of mobicontrol doesn't let me set attributes to groups using API, well annoying!). Now to the problem (for those still reading) - my new profile applies with the criteria myAttrib = true, but the main profile DOES NOT apply with the criteria myAttrib = false !! This doesn't make any sense to me, I would assume that a boolean attribute unticked must equal false - so therefore device i didn't tick should have that profile, but it literally removed itself from over 6000 devices (which seeing as it was a kiosk mode profile, was officially a BAD THING). Am I misunderstanding something fundimental here, does anyone else using booleans in filter criteria have this issue?
