Hello, I am having trouble trying to reinstall chrome via soti. Once the package is created and deployed from the server (14.4.9.1034), the tablets (Samsung SM-T580 agent versión 14.2.1.1083 and Android+) try to install the package and they start rebooting agent with each installation attempt. Keeping on rebooting. This is the state in which the package remains on the tablet: Or: This package is the only one with which I have problems, I have installed and updated packages from other apk's, but this one, I don't know if being an OS application is giving me problems. Any idea why it could be?
Hi SOTI TEAM I have some problem about in details 1. Tablet Model ZEBRA ET50 with Android OS version 5.1.1 2. Tablet Model CASIO V-T500-E with Android OS version 4.0.1 3. Chrome Version 37.x.x as Default Browser 4. Mobicontrol Version 13 in CASIO V-T500-E 5. Mobicontrol Version 14.1.1 in ZEBRA ET50 This Problem 1. I Use Lockdown Mode on Both device 2. I use Browser:// as icon Web link 3. I Started link it worked but when I close all tabs to blank page ,so this problem when I re-open web link again it's not show web link (It's show blank page), So I must open new one tab and re-open my link again to open it 4. i'm not sure why depend on chrome version?, Android version?, Mobi-control version?, Device Model. Hi, I've been trying to lockdown a TC57 Zebra scanner to just launch chrome without displaying a URL bar. The issue is i cannot use Soti Surf as the website we are accesssing only supports Google Chrome. IS there any way to achieve this?
several of our employees have figured out a loophole in our Kiosk. We are trying to have them use Soti Surf as their browser. The loophole is when they go into adobe and select print - they can click on all services and it will open up a google chrome browser window. we have blacklisted com.android.chrome and have also tried the disable script. So far we have not found a solution. i found this solution https://discussions.soti.net/thread/how-to-fully-blacklist-a-browser/ i have tried the manualblacklist and no avail. our devices are ATT and Verizon Tab A's Model: SMT387 android 9 enrolled with android + can anyone provide further advice? if needed i will open a ticket.
Hello all, we work with mobicontrol on version v13.3.3454 we used zebra tc75 under android 6 and 7 client mobicontrol is on version 13.3.2 build 1014 On many device we have soti surf who is installed All works fine but after an audit of security we need to implement some change :). this audit has find a open door with the lock down -> press coma while two second, a setting icon appear with this setting icon it's possible to go to other settings. If you click on setting google keyboard / about / and click rules As you can see on my picture the device proposal two browser : chrome or soti surf For to avoid the press coma on the google keyboard we have installed the zebra keyboard. I've try to reproduce this back door but actually not possible. Also if i black list google chrome and reboot the device ..the device doesn't reboot !!!!! My question is -> is it possible to make soti surf as a default browser FOR ALL LINKS ? the goal is -> if the security team arrived to find another way for by pass lock down with the new zebra keyboard installed. i want every time that is soti surf who opens for url thanks for your time
Hi, Can anyone advise how I get the page to display correctly AND with no address bar Chrome v76.0.3809.132 MobiControl v14.3.4.1087 Hardware Honeywell Android 8.1.0, build 86.00.13-(0108) Using https://myurl#Intent;scheme=http;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;component=com.android.chrome/ I get no address bar BUT the page has zoomed in: So, I tried browsers://myurl#Intent;scheme=http;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;component=com.android.chrome/ I now get the address bar, but the page displays as I want it to. Tried using intent:https://myurl#Intent;scheme=http;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;component=com.android.chrome/ out of curiosity, but the button on the kiosk page doesn’t do anything when pressed. We are running into issues with chrome webview stable on our Zebra TC75X Android 7.1.2 devices.After identifying some bugs with "chrome webview stable" that is constantly crashing our applications, we're trying to find a way to disable chrome so that the standalone android system webview can toggle over after being installed from another apk (webview settings are found in developer mode) We've blacklisted chrome but it is still enabled and not letting the android system webview take over. I can't find any scripts that will disable chrome either. This is affecting a large amount of devices and would like to make these adjustments with as little "remoting" in and configuration as possible.Anybody have any ideas?
Hey Guys, I just want to know how you handle Updates of Chrome, Playservices, ... in your environment? We're using many Zebra TC20 for internal use only. We have a few Apps which only needs internal access to our Servers, so the Zebras are configured with a Proxy for internet access, just for a quick view of prices, Information etc. Unfortunately the Google-Apps don't use this Proxy (configured with Zebra MX) for updateing themselves. That means we're still using Chrome, Play, Mail, ... Versions from the Zebra OS a few Months ago. A newer OS-Update doesn't contains newer App Versions of e.g. Chrome so we're now got stuck. Is there any chance to Update all this Google-Stuff by apk or do I have to change the WIFI so the Devices get unlimited Internet-Access? for example: The Chrome Version installed within the Nougat or Oreo OS of our Devices is 69.0.x. We just want to bring out an TWA Wrapper App which needs min. Chrome 74.x. I don't know at the moment how to Update Chrome to get this working. Many Thanks and kind regards

Is there any way to open Chrome without the address bar via a Lockdown screen on Android Enterprise (OS 8.1.0) devices? Our self-service payroll portal will only allow the download of pdf timesheets in Chrome on our Android Enterprise devices (long story, already looked at in Surf by SOTI devs) but we still want to use SOTI Surf for the rest of our URLs. I know the below intent works fine with this url on our devices: intent://randompayrollwebsite.com#Intent;scheme=https;package=com.android.chrome;end The issue we have is that the address bar is shown and engineers have access to other websites using the tabs which we'd rather not have as we use web filters categories in SOTI Surf. I have tested the website using the standard browser (eg. adding https://randompayrollwebsite.com to the lockdown screen) and the SOTI Surf browser and neither of these will open the pdfs via the website. Other pdfs open fine in Surf and we have the Adobe Reader package in our Lockdown profiles. The only solution I can think of is adding a 'Web Filter' profile to block all other websites, but the issue with this solution is that the engineers would then be unable to open URLs in Gmail (as Gmail is now the default Exchange email provider in Android Enterprise and the 'Open Web links in Gmail' option is set by default in the Gmail app). Unless there is a way to unset the 'Open Web links in Gmail' as default via SOTI, but I couldn't see this as an option anywhere? If there is another intent that could help I would love to hear it. Hi, I am currently trying to add 3 Managed Bookmarks to the chrome browser on an Android Enterprise (Samsung Tablet, OS 8.1, Work Managed Device), I have followed the instructions on http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ManagedBookmarks. I can successfully push 2 bookmarks on to the device, but the MobiControl portal states that "The server could not complete your request an internal error occurred when the 3rd is added. I can push the 3rd bookmark to the device, without the others, just not all three together. Copying the JSON from Chrome, this is also resulting in the same error, so I have included this below; [{"toplevel_name": "My managed bookmarks folder"}, {"url": "google.com", "name": "Google"}, {"url": "youtube.com", "name": "Youtube"}, {"name": "Chrome links", "children": [{"url": "chromium.org", "name": "Chromium"}, {"url": "dev.chromium.org", "name": "Chromium Developers"}]}] Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Can anyone correct my JSON to get these to be displayed on the device? Thanks
