Hi I'm having issue to stop the device (SM-T395 Android 7.1.1) from running Chrome when MobiControl Lockdown is enabled. The following package has been added into application run control blacklist. com.android.chrome But the users still can launch Chrome via Google Maps. (click on the restaurant, find the website and chrome will pop up.) Is there any workaround to stop the device from running Chrome on it? Android Plus Agent 13.6.0.1257 MobiControl 14.3.4.1087
Hi guys, When I enroll Samsung XCovers 4s with Android Enterprise agent - I cant browse them afterwards via USB from pc - or I can actually see the device under My Computer, but it's empty and I dont have the option on the device for "Use USB For: File transer" No restrictions are set. Hi there, we'll use devices from other manufacturers than Zebra too. So i got a Samsung A50 with Android 9. We passed the Google-Settingsmanager with the minimum of settings to made (no Google account; we don't need it for now; no Wifi Settings etc.). We installed the mobicontrol APK on the device and scanned the barcode from Mobicontrol Stage. Then we get the error, that the wireless settings are not able to be set. Mobicontrol got all permissions we're able to give in the App-Tab on device. Mobicontrol is set as deviceadministration App too. But no chance to get the wireless settings set. Is there something we can do or must we set it manually everytime? The device is asking for connection to ELM, do we really need this or is there a way to use it without ELM?
Hello everyone! I'm having problems enrolling devices in my MobiControl server, the kind of devices I'm enrolling is: Android Plus. Without Google Account. Models are: Samsung G532M, G532MT, J320M. After they are enrolled to the server, they're agent are not compatible with my actual version of MobiControl, even after I checked the version that has been configured with the device add rule. How can I fix this?
My team and I recently upgraded a bunch of Samsung S8 phones to S9. The S8's were using the ELM Mobicontrol. S9's are Android Enterprise (and enrolled in KNOX). My issue is moving users data over to the new devices. Smart Switch comes up with issues when connecting the phones via USB. I receive "Connected device does not support transfer of content" when using Smart Switch PC. I've enabled USB debugging on the S9's, but still having this issue. Anyone else have any experience with this?
Hi all, I am relatively new to SOTI and am currently adding up to 2500 Samsung A50e devices to my estate. We have a mix of voice/data connections with some voice connections only being required to make and receive calls. At the moment voicemail is activated on all devices. I'd like to create a script that I can deploy to specific profiles to disable voicemail but have no idea where to start. Can any of you help? Thanks James IT EUC Manager Travelodge
Hi guys, I've three different Samsung tablet with me (Tab A 2018; Tab S4; Tab S6). All tablets running Android 9 with Agent 14.0. If I remove the software keys manually, watchsetting reports: Custom log (URI:content://settings/global SETTING:navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden VALUE:1) If I want to perform this setting via MobiControl script, nothing happens. The script I sent is as follows: Writesecuresetting -glo navigation_bar_gesture_while_hidden 1

Is there any guidance on which devices agents are supported on which server versions? Or, are the agents built with backwards compatibility with older server versions? I couldn't really finding anything in the release notes. I have some new Android 9.0 devices coming in and I want to put an agent on there that supports that OS version but also wanted to make sure the device agent is supported against my server version, 13.4.0.4167. For example, I want to ensure the latest Android OEM specific agent for Samsung is supported on my server version. Thanks
Hi Team, First time poster here, although I've been floating around the forums benefiting from the shared wisdom posted here for the last few months. I've run into a dead end with this particular issue, and i'm hoping i can get some advice on how to proceed. We've run into an issue recently that seems to only affect Android 9 devices on the Android Enterprise configuration. The lock screen (when you first unlock the phone before swiping to unlock, or entering a PIN etc) doesn't seem to display notifications of any kind We've noticed that when the device is in lockdown mode, we can't see any notifications at all on the lock screen, in fact in order to see the notifications, we need to enter administrator mode, or send the "lockdown off" script via MobiControl. Some of our sites rely on system-generated messages sent to mobiles to give the staff instructions on where to check, and which routes to take etc. When i take a look into the settings of the device, i can see that under the lock screen portion, the Notifications button is set to disabled, and is greyed out i.e. cannot be adjusted. Again, as this only affects Android 9 devices on Android Enterprise, i'm baffled at what i can do to resolve this. ! Some points on our configuration ! #: Lockdown config: Activity Suppression enabled. Disable Status Bar Expansion Enabled. Using Device Control. #: Feature Control: Redact Notifications is not ticked. Disable all notifications is not ticked. Disable all system UI is ticked, although this didn't seem to have any effect on this problem either way. #: We use the MobiControl Stage Programmer app with NFC for smartphones, and the QR Code for tablets. #: Android Plus covers 80% of our fleet, with 20% of Enterprise devices distributed in the last 3 months. #: I've configured the devices to land in a blank folder with no payloads, and once they are enrolled and ready, i'll manually drag the device into a folder with a profile targeted to said folder, which will push the profile/payloads. #: We use the J5 Pro (Android 8.1), Galaxy A20 (9.0) and the Galaxy Tab a 2017 (8.1). If the guard misses a message, this can be a massive compliance issue, so unless the guard keeps their device open on the SMS app, there's a good chance they'll miss it. Has anyone else run into this issue before? Any assistance of advice provided would be sincerely appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Joell
Hi. In our company we have mobile phones enrolled as Managed Devices. We want to make backup copies of the devices. For this process, we use Smart Switch. But it is not possible, Smart Switch indicates that the device does not accept the file transfer.Through the windows file explorer I can, and in the control of features, I have the USB transfer options enabled.Anyone use any program to make a copy of Device to PC?
My customer is having problems adjusting display brightness with Soti Settings Manager on their Samsung Xcover 3 and 4. I have created a profile for them with a lockdown enabling status bar expansion but disabling settings changes. Package Blocking and Samsung Package Disabling are off. The profile also has a Feature Control with a only a few settings set, none of which are relevant to display or settings. Finally the profile has a Settings Manager configuration allowing all settings changes. The only way I can enable changing display brightness is by allowing settings changes, but then I would have to disable status bar expansion to prevent tampering with network settings by the end user. This is not an option. But shouldn't Soti Settings Manager bypass this setting and be allowed to change display settings? My Mobicontrol server is 14.4.1.1195 Agent version on my test Xcover 4 is 13.8.0 1047 (ELM) Settings manager is 14.3.4 Build132
We had a profile which had a feature control of "Block Background Data" set on Samsung XCover4 devices. This has now been removed, however has left the Data Saver turned on. Is there a way to toggle this to off, or better still, to allow MobiControl to allow app whilst data saver is on (found in Settings / Apps / MobiControl / Mobile Date / Data Usage / Allow app while Data saver on). This is using SOTI server v13.4 and device agent Samsung ELM 13.7.5, utilising an AND+ / DA build method.
The issue I'm having is slightly different from the one reported by Stefan Devernon 4 days ago titled "Soti MobiControl Lockdown Profile and recently used apps", so I'm creating this new topic. On Samsung Galaxy Tab Active2 tablets (SM-T395) running on Android 9, Recently Used Apps changes its behavior when in lockdown mode. Normally, the different active applications are shown in a horizontal row. Once in Lockdown, they get shown in a vertical row (scroll-able). That's fine though, it's not the issue we're having problems with. In Lockdown mode, normally only one application gets shown in Recently Used Apps and it's the application that you most recently had open. If there's another application running in foreground mode (for instance, our own FMS app), that'll show up here as well. Is there a way of showing more recent apps here? Nevertheless, that's still not the main issue. We use 6 apps on Lockdown mode and our customers would like to be able to switch between them. One of them is Google Maps, which is used for navigating. Now when you use Recently Used Apps to switch to another app, Google Maps gets closed automatically since Recently Used Apps only allows one active app. As a result, truck drivers have to restart Google Maps manually and fill in their destination again. You can imagine this can become quite tedious. Using Lockdown > Advanced > Samsung Package Disabling, we can disable Recently Used Apps entirely. That'll get rid of this confusing behavior, but isn't a solution. Using the Home-button to switch between apps will still get Google Maps killed. Is there a way of allowing Recently Used Apps to show more applications at a time, without applications getting killed in the background? Preferably in such a way that it doesn't show application that were opened whilst in Admin mode? We're using MobiControl 14.3.1.1189 and Samsung ELM agent 13.7.5.1013.
