Android Enterprise and Rule Permissions issue

Hi all, I'm currently using Android Enterprise - Work Managed devices, with Managed Google Play Account... Mobicontrol version 15.3.2 I have a selection of Add device rules set up and all have the Permissions set on the Rule like below: However at enrolment of the device, I'm experiencing a mix of results and not sure why. For example, once the device is staged as AFW - its on the enrolment screen waiting for a code. We use Mobicontrol Stage and scan barcodes created from the Enrolment ID. This then prompts for username and password (we use ldap authentication) and then it prompts for the Password Policy we set and moves onto the kiosk/lockdown. On some devices, this proceeds and there are no further pending actions. All policies, apps, etc download and the device is enrolled and compliant. However on another device, same model, same staging but perhaps a different Rule - with the same Permissions set - we get prompted in Pending actions and have to manually accept each one and toggle Mobicontrol. I have gone over the Rules and aside from the target and ldap groups these are almost carbon copies. All have the tickboxes set but I'm confused if they mean it should prompt, or should auto grant these? Little baffled on why some do it but not all... Is there something at the profile level that has an effect, or maybe something in feature control that conflicts with this that I'm potentially missing? If anyone can help and offer the intended action it would be much appreciated as we may need to update documentation for user enrolment asap. Many thanks Leigh

    Enrollment failed in SOTI

Dear SOTI,Currently we are experiencing issues whenever we try to register a mobile phone in our own SOTI Server, during the registration procedurement, the certificate of the machine we would like to connect to is shown as invalid ( "Enrollment Failed, Please retry or contact your system administrator."). What is interesting is that we can register successfully any phone running any version of Android in ELM and/or AFW Mode, except those running Android 10 in AFW Mode.We would like to point out that our own self host Server has already a SHA256 certificate and Mobicontrol version: 15.3.0.6711.As you could see in the pictures link below, it seems that the issue is related with the SOTI certificate SHA1.Would you please help us with some advice regarding the issue?Thank you very much indeed in advance. How to associate an asset tag to a device

We have an all Android for Work tablet environment. We have asset tags that will be using an alpha-numeric string of characters  such as "Device 001" etc. How can I associate one of these asset tags to a device in my Soti console either during enrollment or after the device is enrolled? I saw the Custom Data field option, but the instructions for using those 3 fields read to me like they can only be associated to a data point already on the devices.  Ideally, I'd like a field I can upload a CSV file or similar to because I am going to need to associate multiple thousands of devices & asset tags to each other.

Authentication Policy set - Not prompting to set pin

Hello - I have set an AFW auth policy to require a pin code on our Samsung Active Tab 2's - However it's not prompting on the devices to set a pin when its applied.  If I look at the device in MobiControl it shows as "PIN Set - Yes". It's not however. I'm using the Android Enterprise Agent, not sure if that makes any difference?

Multiple notifications after enrolling with AFW (DO)

Hello everyone. I just enrolled a Moto E4 Plus smartphone using Android for Work (Device Owner). There are two persistent notifications that I want to hide (image attached): - An application has special access to your device. No idea how to hide this, without hidding all Android System notifications. - Account action required. Should I delete the Android Enterprise account after I enroll it? (We do not use a managed account, we let the user configure their own). Thanks in advance, Max.

    Application Catalog (AFW) issues

Hi Everyone, actually, we are having severe trouble managing and enrolling our applications which are bound to a managed google play account and located within two different application catalogs. When i am trying to update the information for approved apps from within an application catalog, i receive an error message that the data is temporarely not available. However, this message is viewed for about two days now and without any information from SOTI i cannot imagine of a temporary unavailability taking on for so long. However, the second issued is much more annoying. Both of our two application catalogs are assigned to several groups, either Smartphones or Tablets. Devices are showing the apps from both catalogs (at least from within MobiControl client) but when i try to install an application from catalog#1 on a tablet device a message appears that the Admin has restricted access to this application. Apps from catalog#2 can be installed without a problem and on a smartphone device any app from both catalogs can be installed onto the device. I've already re-assigned rules and profiles more than a dozen times but without success. Any ideas would be highly appreciated. Greetings, Markus

Can I set application permissions through MobiControl?

I need to be able to give my applications the ability to change System Settings, such as turning Bluetooth On/Off. Right now, I have to go through 150+ devices and flip the toggle switch to allow the app to do this. These are Android 6.0.1 tablets in Device Owner mode, running on MobiControl v14. Funny enough, I've also seen the MobiControl Samsung MDM Agent on test devices without this permission enabled (on itself) in Application Manager. I've looked at the v14 manual but I haven't been able to determine if this is actually possible through scripting commands. I suspect the sendintent command might do the trick, but had trouble with it in v13. On a related note, what about turning Usage Data Access for the MobiControl agent programmatically? Are there any solutions to make my life easier?

Can I remote control Work Managed Devices (Android Enterprise)? Solved

Hi, is there any way to also have Remote Control abilities for Android Enterprise (Work Managed) Samsung devices? I find it strange that I have to ask the user permission to simply be able to View their screen, even as a Device Owner. Is this a feature we can expect to have one day in MobiControl? Update: wanted to clarify that these are Samsung tablets. No separate remote control agent is available for download from SOTI's website.
