Bluetooth connection disconnected early on devices in MobiControl Lockdown

We have a client which has 10 devices, 3 of which we've enrolled in MobiControl. They are enrolled into a profile which uses lockdown, these are Android Enterprise devices running Android 10 (Zebra WT6300 with RS5100 bluetooth finger scanners).

The client is reporting that the pairing is much less stable on the enrolled devices, i.e. the pairing only lasts a few minutes and then needs to be paired again.

Has anyone experienced something similar? And if so, did you find out what was causing this?

I would assume you are using Native mode for Lockdown instead of Activity Suppression? If Native mode then you have to explicitly whitelist apps like the Zebra bluetooth pairing utility otherwise the lockdown will interfere with the stability like you are seeing. You can verify this by disabling the lockdown and seeing how pairing works in comparison. You have the option of either changing the lockdown to Activity Suppression or whitelisting the bluetooth pairing utility for the Native mode.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for your post on SOTI Central.

Have you tried the options that Matt Dermody suggested? Did it work for you?

Hi,

Our client is experiencing the same issue with TC58 on Android 11 with RS5100.

We are using Active Suppression lockdown with activity added to enable Pairing Dialog to run com.android.settings/.bluetooth.BluetoothPairingDialog

I wonder if there is anything else we could try?
