Odd browsing behaviour - SOTI Surf v Chrome

Continental landscapes

We have our Samsung tablets set with a bookmark to a GISCloud.com map (https://continental-landscapes.giscloud.com/map/1192857/whg-2019). In SOTI Surf we are having issues where one of the map layers (the base map layer with the streets/streetnames on it) is not displaying when viewed in SOTI Surf, but is displaying fine if viewed in Chrome. I can't think why WebView wouldn't like it.

Hello Gavin Wilson,

Thank you for your post, please provide screenshot of the error message you get when try to open URL in SOTI surf.

There is no error message, just using SOTI Surf the map doesn't render correctly v Chrome on the same tablet.

On Chrome there correctly appears all the layers of the GIS map as it should.

On SOTI Surf the GIS layers that show the polygon assets show correctly, but not the main OS type map layer that displays the streets/street names.

Hi Gavin,

The above website is trying to download the map canvas images using the Mixed Content. Accessing Mixed Content is disabled in Android Web-view from Android OS Lollipop and above. Android actually strongly discourages enabling this setting.

If this is a significant customer requirement, I would suggest creating a Feature Request on the Support ticket you have raised. We will then plan its feasibility and prioritize it accordingly.
