Blank lockdown screen/TC70H not locking

Hi there :)

I´m having a weird issue. Some of my handheld devices (TC700H) are showing a blank screen on the lockdown screen. We are using 3 apps and none of them are showing. We can put in the admin password and all of the apps are there. The devices are running android 4.4.3 and Soti 14.1.2.1937

If the devices are restarted sometimes they go directly to the blank lockdown screen, or they do not lock down at all.

Any ideas?

Please try to upgrade the agent on one device first. You can simply go to https://docs.soti.net/oem on the affected device and download the latest Zebra agent. Install the downloaded apk and the agent will upgrade.

If this resolves your issue, please create a case with technical support here: https://www.soti.net/services/log-a-case/

so that we can inject the latest agent into your MobiControl DB to push it to all the devices.

I've had this issue on a different type of device. We were only able to fix this by uninstalling MobiControl agent and reinstalling it per device :(

Not sure if there is a scalable fix through server.

Can you please try to revoke the lockdown profile from one of the affected device and reapply it?

Thank you for the tip.

Revoking the lockdown profile and re-apply it seems to do the trick...partially.

Now the icons are missing, or partially missing.

Refreshing the lockscreen does nothing. Minor changes to the profile and re-assigning it does nothing.

The "Olís Handheld" icon is completely missing but pushing the link opens the app.

Can you please verify the following two things:

1. Can you please start a remote control session with the device using the Plugin method and in the File Explorer in the RC plugin, navigate to \Enterprise\Usr and confirm if you can see multiple MobiControlTemp.apk files?

2. Which MobiControl agent version are these devices on?

Hi :)

This is the content of Enterprise/usr folder

There is no mobicontroltemp.apk file.

Agent version is 13.5.0.1327

Can you check inside those folders named with random numbers if you see any MobiControlTemp.apk files?

Also, on one of the affected devices can you please install the latest Zebra agent from https://docs.soti.net/oem and see if you can get the lockdown screen applied?

Every single folder with the random numbers has a mobicontroltemp.apk file.

Should i delete them?

To temporarily resolve this issue, yes you can delete the temp files in those random name folders. The permanent resolution to this issue is available in the latest Zebra agent.

Upgrading the agent seems to fix the issue :)

I´m trying to create a case with technical support, but having some problems. Filled everything out and still getting this
