MENKES DEVELOPMENTS LTD

Hi Everyone,

We just recently started rolling out iPhone for our organization. Currently testing our first device. We have the Apple business program account setup, device assigned, enrolled via the link; had another issue whereby I had to skip the initial remote management after factory reset. The issue at present is the app App Catalog opens in Safari and the link doesn't work. The VPP apps that I have setup as Mandatory does install correctly, both MobiControl and Waze app were installed automatically. The preview shows up fine but the App Catalog doesn't work. please see below. thanks

If you haven't modified  the URL in the web-clip payload for the default profiles "App Catalog" and "Profile Catalog", and they are set to use

  https://win-u3v7ali9bte/mc/profile/%DeviceIdentifier%

  https://win-u3v7ali9bte/mc/mdm/appcatalog/%DeviceIdentifier%

rather than

  https://S########..mobicontrolcloud.com/mc/profile/%DeviceIdentifier%

  https://S########..mobicontrolcloud.com/mc/mdm/appcatalog/%DeviceIdentifier%

then your cloud instance had probably been installed improperly with wrong Device Management Address using windows hostname  at the beginning, and the problem subsequently fixed with the proper FQDN instead.  That is why your two automatically generated default profiles had the wrong settings.  You should be OK if the FQDN settings are used.

Is the "Device Management Address" of your MobiControl server set to  "win-u3v7ali9bte" (or something similar related to your host name, rather than the FQDN of your server)?

What is the version and build numbers of your MobiControl Server?

Do you have any paid SSL certificate from CA associated with the domain related to your FQDN installed on your MobiControl server?

Which iOS version is your device running?

Hi Raymond, thanks for your reply again.

Is the "Device Management Address" of your MobiControl server set to  "win-u3v7ali9bte" (or something similar related to your host name, rather than the FQDN of your server)?

The Device Management Address is set to s######.mobicontrolcloud.com.  It’s cloud hosted by SOTI.

What is the version and build numbers of your MobiControl Server?

13.4.0.3985

Do you have any paid SSL certificate from CA associated with the domain related to your FQDN installed on your MobiControl server?

No/not sure as this is cloud hosted. I assume the certificate are ok ? As our Android devices are working correctly.

Which iOS version is your device running?

12.3.1

I was just playing around with the server link win-u3v7ali9bte. I replaced it with s######.mobicontrolcloud.com and it is now showing the apps like the preview. I have a call scheduled with support, hopefully it's a quick fix.

thanks, it's fixed now

Just a note, those web clip links for both profile doesn't show up in Chrome or Firefox. I had to use Internet Explorer.
