How to exit lockdown/kiosk on Honeywell CK65

Solved

Hi guys,

I am running into an issue here with the CK65 devices. I am trying to exit the lockdown and prompt the admin password and unable to do so. I have tried holding the back button (which works on our zebra tc8300 devices), the ^ gesture and a couple other gestures but have no luck. Only way which works is to remote connect to the device and enter admin mode via an option on there. I would prefer to have a reliable way of exiting the kiosk mode in the case of a lost internet connection where I would lose access to remote control.

Appreciate any insight into this issue.

Thanks!

SOLUTION FOUND: CK65 Device built-in keyboard's "Esc" button (holding down) prmopts the administrator popup. The on-screen back button should be ignored in this case.

Just in case it is not possible to use the ESC key for different firmware/agent versions, it should be noted that it is always possible to explicitly add an extra kiosk/lockown item to use script to prompt for device administrator password.

Hi Raymond

Can you please provide an example for that? I think it would be useful for future readers of this thread.

You can just add an intent item with following "url":

#Intent;action=net.soti.mobicontrol.admin.PASSWORD_DIALOG;component=net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.ui.AdminModeDialogActivity;i.dialog_type=1;end
