Using Offline Language Package on Android 14 devices

Hello everybody,I am new to SOTI MobiControl. We are using Zebra TC27 devices running Android 14. These devices do not have an internet connection, but we need voice input functionality on them. Offline packages are available for this purpose, and I can install them successfully when doing so manually. How can I deploy these language packages to the Android devices using SOTI? Many thanks!

    Farewell from Matt

It’s a bittersweet moment, but the time has come for me to officially step back from the SOTI discussion forums. As I move on to a new professional chapter, I couldn't walk away without saying a proper goodbye to this community. I’ve recently taken on a new role at a different company which means my focus will be shifting away from Enterprise Mobility and device management. While I’m incredibly excited about this next challenge, it’s tough to step back from a space I’ve been so deeply involved in for so long. Reflecting back, it’s wild to see how much the landscape has evolved since I first started contributing here. We’ve gone through some massive industry shifts together. From navigating the Device Administrator (DA) to Android Enterprise Device Owner (DO) to Scoped Storage and Managed Configurations, and beyond. Thank you to the SOTI engineers, the power users, and the enterprise admins for always being willing to trade technical insights, challenge deployment assumptions, and help solve the real world headaches of managing hardware at scale. You all keep the supply chain, retail, and warehouse worlds moving, even when the EMM tooling don't want to cooperate. A special shoutout goes to @Raymond Chan and @Rafael Schäfer. You both will have to hold it down in my absence. And please do try to get along while you're at it! While I likely won't be actively posting standard Android OS queries or feature requests here anymore, I’d love to stay connected with this community. Please feel free to add me on LinkedIn so we can keep in touch, talk tech, or swap stories from the trenches. Thanks for the years of collaboration, troubleshooting, and shared expertise. Signing off, ✌️ Matt

Samsung Remote Control not working Solved

Hi, maybe we did something wrong because remote control from MobiControl is not working for Samsung devices.   We have models SM-T636B, SM-X356B The devices are enrolled with knox EMM (one with afw#mobicontrol) Supported API is showing: Samsung MDM V5.7, Samsung RC V1, Samsung KNOX v3.3, Work Managed Device Knox Service Plugin is installed v1.5.64 (26.05) Our onprem mobicontrol is 2026.1.0.11865   RC works with another manufacturer. Trying to open RC to any one of the Samsung device shows: Connection lost! WebSocket closed without sending a close frame.   We have a running support case open but no solution yet, so i thought i might ask the community for any hint that might lead to a wrong configuration or enrollment process from our end.   Thanks, BD

    Android Device password lockout

Hi Everyone,   I am facing an issue where some android entrprise devices are having the password enforcement and were resterted and are not connected to the console now despite having internet connection. I tried to reset the password through the platform notifications service by sending the password reset command resetpassword abc123. but still this fails. Have you faced this kind of lockout and have you successfully resolved this?

Update contact number via vcf file and script but it take replace

Hi SOTI Discussion   I am experiencing an issue while using the import_contacts_vcf command to add contacts to my device. I am using the following command: import_contacts_vcf "/sdcard/Download/new_contacts.vcf" 0 UTF-8 According to the documentation, setting the mode to 0 should add contacts to the existing list (non-destructive). However, instead of adding new contacts, it is overwriting or replacing the existing contact information on my device with the data from the .vcf file Any guidance or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,   SOTI Server 15.3 SOTI Client 2026.x.x Device Samsung  Android os 15

Managed Google Account: Play Store stuck on "Authentication required"

Hi all, we're enrolling Android Enterprise devices with managed Google Accounts (Google domain enrollment type) on MobiControl SaaS 2026.0.1.1181. Enrollment completes fine and the managed account is added to the device as expected (Samsung tablet/phone, fully managed / Device Owner). Afterwards, Google Play stays blocked: "Authentication is required. You need to sign in to your Google account" – retry just loops, no app installs possible. A persistent notification "Account action required user@ourdomain.com" only opens the MobiControl agent, with no dialog or action. Ruled out so far: Two different managed accounts → same behavior; a personal Google account on the same device works fine Web login on PC works, no pending account actions, 2FA disabled for the test user EMM token correctly set in Google Admin Console, third-party Android management enabled for the whole OU Has anyone seen this? Any pointers appreciated – thanks in advance!

NFC Authentication for Microsoft Entra ID users

Hello, How can I enable NFC login for Microsoft Entra ID users in Lockdown on SOTI MobiControl 2026.0.2? Is NFC login for Entra ID users supported in version 2026.0.2, or is it only available starting from 2026.1.0? When configuring Lockdown, I select Microsoft Entra ID groups. After completing the configuration, I can see that NFC login is not authorized in Lockdown, regardless of what I select under “How users will unlock the device”. On the login screen, the assigned authentication method is the Authenticator app. Am I missing an additional setting, application, or requirement for NFC authentication to work with Entra ID users in Lockdown? We are using SOTI Identity, with Microsoft Entra ID synchronized through it

Kiosk Mode – Allow Notifications for Only One Application?

Hello everyone, I would appreciate your support with the following question. Our customer wants only one application's notifications to be visible while the device is running in kiosk mode. The devices in use are Zebra TC15 and TC57 running Android 10/11. Is it possible to allow notifications for only a specific application while blocking notifications from all other apps? If anyone has implemented or tested this scenario, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance!

Soti with Honeywell CK65 (& DeviceConfig xml)

Hi everyone,   i would like to know if any member here does have some experience with these device models when used with soti mobicontrol.   since we enrolled them, we have weird issues. they are all fully managed.   The issues are e.g. Android Setting "set time automatically" is turned off on some devices. Beeper volume is very low on some devices. We also got two devices that where in airplane mode.     We have a soti app package that consists of 3 xml files: DeviceConfig, DataCollectionService, Provisioner With a post install script to run intend command to these files. This executes xml files on the devices and sets the OEM settings from them. The provisioner window is also shown when run.   Additionally we have a profile with lockdown and feature control. Lockdown is preventing users to go outside or open quick menu. In feature control everything is active.   ----------   Before we enrolled to soti we used the same xml files. The xml settings had to be inserted by scanning a provisioner QR code made from these xml files. Instead of lockdown we used the honeywell launcher. In this previous scenario we did not have any of the above mentioned issues.     Thank you for your time. regards

Is Section-Based Permission Control Possible in Android Settings?

Hello everyone, I need some help with a specific requirement. I would like to restrict certain settings on Android devices. For example, users should be able to access the "Apps & Notifications" section, but they should not be allowed to make any changes there; they should only be able to view the settings. In all other settings sections, they should be able to make changes normally. Is it possible to achieve this using a script or a similar method?
