New to using SOTI, we're currently setting up to use it for some educational devices (Samsung Tab A) with lockdown to restrict access to certain websites as well as playing a limited number of videos. I'm having difficulties adding a link to a locally stored video file on the lockdown screen. I've tried adding it as a file:// and movie:// link, but when you tap on the icon it highlights then does nothing. Once it came up with the option to select a video player, but still didn't start playing the video. I know the link itself is correct, as if I switch on "launch automatically on start-up" the video plays once I restart the tablet. Can anyone offer some advice on this?
Have several JotForms created and want to have icons placed for those forms on the kiosk lock screen. Bookmark option just bookmarks the website in Chrome app, but I'd like separate icons per form so the user does not have to search in Chrome on the android tablet. How do I do this?
Hi Is there any way to configure MobiControl to effectively automatically drag and drop devices between folders, triggered by date and time? (Relocating them regardless of whether or not they are powered on) I need to move some devices from one particular folder to another in the early hours of the morning (when I'd much rather be sleeping!) One way to achieve this is to use a timed Alert rule, triggered by something that's always true, such as Operating System Version >6 in our case. However this is not ideal as some users switch their devices off overnight meaning that even if I set the schedule to every 2 minutes, users may be able to power on and start using the device before it is moved (which will result in an update to the app they've just started using and unsaved work). I also don't want to burden the deployment server with the load of checking hundreds of devices every 2 minutes...
We have a number of devices that are running with the lockdown kiosk enabled but we need to be able to use Teamviewer QS for troubleshooting/configuration of the 1 specific APK that is used on the devices. Teamviewer QS works like it should when the kiosk is disabled but as soon as we re-enable kiosk mode the Teamviewer remote session only displays a black screen. What do I need to configure/set up to allow for a teamviwer QS session to be run properly with kiosk mode enabled?
Can anyone provide any insight into where SOTI is with OEMConfig Feedback Channel support, specifically Zebra? I'd like to be able to effectively troubleshoot OEMConfig settings or maybe someone has a better way.
Hey there, I am currently enrolling MX3300x's to our environment and everything seems to be fine but we are getting a message at the bottom of the screen of our kiosk mode saying the following: server policies restricts the use of feature auto_time" then it disappears. I don't know if these will interrupt our users from their tasks but I would like to get rid of the message altogether. It seems to be enrolling at the current time. Not sure where the issue lies.
We have pushed Google Maps out to our Android enterprise enrolled devices (Samsung A7 lite). Google Maps opens and works fine, however when one of our users tries to sign into Maps with their account, we get a message that says "Action not allowed". Am I missing something in the configuration or feature control of the app? we would like to let our users log in with their accounts so they can have all their pins and favorites.
I have been testing a new EDA52 I have and have noticed when enrolling on my 15.2.2.1080 Mobicontrol server I have no Remote/View icons available. The list of supported APIs is also not shown on the device dashboard. No combination of plugins/agent versions or scripts have worked ie . _resetfailedrcdetectionflag restartagent retryrcdetection I have enrolled this same device as a test on to my 15.5.1.1010 server and sure enough Remote control works on this one! As far as I can see I'm using the same agent version/plugins on both servers Agent version 15.2.0.1025 Plugin version 1.19.2.118 The supported APIs shown on the new server are below but as I said this section is missing on the older server. Supported APIs RC Virtual Display, Work Managed Device, Advanced Android Plus 1.18, 1402, 1500 Does anyone have any ideas or have come across this before? Many thanks
Assuming Managed Google play has already been assigned to MC and some applications from the wider public google play are present in an app policy. In the case where we have private applications, does anyone have an opinions/best practise/know of difference/limitations between deploying these applications via Enterprise App deployment vs Adding them as a Private application to Managed google play. We deploy all our Android applications using Android Enterprise Managed Google Play Accounts. We've authorised Juice SSH to be installed via the play store, however we want to purchase the Pro Version and deploy this. Speaking with the Juice SSH themselves they've advised it needs to be linked to a Google account which I'm unsure exactly how to do this?? Please could someone help.
Hi, Customer has TC26 devices on Android 11. Enrolling via Zero Touch into Mobicontrol 15.5 Enrollment is fine and Mobicontrol works well, however, when I send a wipe command to the device, I expect it should wipe, start back up and re-enroll with Zero Touch. However, the behaviour seems to be that the device thinks it's already managed by Mobicontrol but still goes through the Zero Touch setup screens. This then fails and asks be to restart the device. So alternatively, I tested factory resetting the device with Zebra Factory reset file and script. This however leads the device to not follow Zero Touch at all until the device is at the Anroid Homescreen, at which point the device gets the normal Zero Touch message about being managed and needing to factory reset in 1 hour to get the device under managment. In Summary, wiping an enrolled TC26 on Android 11 does not show a desired or expected behaviour. Has anyone else experienced this who could advise what I should be doing differently? Have assigned App Policy to Galaxy tablet, but under Configurations it says "No App Policy Found." The device has been re-enrolled and moved to another group after activation. When moving the tablet to the other group, I have tried with and without "Maintain "Overridden" Advanced Configurations specified to selected device(s)." Apps are being pulled from Google Play.
After Upgrading to Agent-Version 15.1.5 Build 1049 all devices show system message "Update google play services" (Mobicontrol is only executed when updating Google Play Services) (freely translated from german message). We think there is no chance to skip the update because the message apears periodically. So we want to know if there is a chance to perform the update of Google Play Services automatically. The devices (>900) are enrolled as device Family "Android Plus" and are currently not assigned to a Google account. Thank you in advance.
Hello, We have some devices that were originally enrolled using an enrollment rule that did not have Managed Google Play enabled. Is there a way to enable this without having to unenroll each device and reenroll?
Hi. We're moving from windows mobile to android. I created the default enrollment profile and have connected the TC52 Android 8.1 to it successfully. When I try to enroll a TC52 Android 10 devices it fails. I can see it in MobiControl webconsole logs that shows it being added. Any idea what is different for enrollment for a version 8.1 vs 10 ?
