Hi all, I'm using Samsung Knox Service Plug-in (KSP) to push policies to our fleet of 2 device types below: Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (SM-T227U).Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ (SM-X218U). I followed the steps outlined in these 3 articles to grant Special Access Permissions to SOTI MobiControl and the Files by Google app, but have not seen all policies succesfully apply to the Tab A7 Lite. https://docs.samsungknox.com/admin/knox-platform-for-enterprise/knox-service-plugin/kbas/kba-1261-grant-special-permissions-for-an-app/ https://docs.samsungknox.com/admin/knox-platform-for-enterprise/knox-service-plugin/kbas/kba-1151-policies-not-applying-after-installation-on-device/ https://discussions.soti.net/articles/000002579 All policies are being applied to the Tab A9+, but only some policies are applied to the Tab A7 Lite. I pushed KSP via Managed Google Play, and have tried pushing the configuration policies in both the Managed App Config page and the Profiles section using OEMConfig for Samsung. I have entered valid Knox Platform for Enterprise (KPE) license keys, and yet I'm not sure why all policies don't take effect on the Tab A7 Lite. In debug mode, the Knox Service Plug-in app states all policies have applied successfully, or that the latest policies have already been applied, and yet this isn't true as the special access permissions aren't turned on for MobiControl, one of the policies I configured. I have sent logs, including Configuration Results, Received Policies, and dump state device logs to Samsung support, but no one has been helpful so far. Battery restriction shows as unrestricted when I followed the steps in Samsung's knowledge base. I also don't receive any errors of any kind in the KSP app while debug is on. It only says that all policies have successfully been applied, even though they have not upon checking after, so I'm not sure what to try next. The policies I configured to be pushed are: Device-wide policies (Selectively applicable to Fully Manage Device (DO) or Work Profile-on company owned devices (WP-C) mode as noted) Enable device policy controls ON Application management policies Enable application management controls ON Battery optimization allowlist: com.samsung.android.knox.kpu Package Name for Auto-Launch: com.samsung.android.knox.kpu Enable permission controls ON Permission Controls Permission Policy: Notification Access Package or Component Name: net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.notification.SotiStatusBarNotificationListenerService Permission Policy: All files access, Appear on top, Change system settings, Alarms & Reminders, Usage data access, ALLPackage or Component Name:net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.ui.MainActivity Permission Policy: All files accessPackage or Component Name: com.google.android.apps.nbu.files The policies not being applied are: All Files Access Notification Access For the apps: SOTI MobiControl Files by Google This only affects Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite devices (SM-T277U). They are running Android 14, although some are running Android 13. The version of Knox Service Plug-in is 1.4.72 (24.06) The Galaxy Tab A9+ (SM-X218U) hasn’t had any issues and all policies are applied successfully. The issue is only with Galaxy Tab A7 Lite devices. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, we want use available TC57 devices in our production area. Is there an possibility to deactivate WAN/Sim Cards? Thank you Gunert
Hello, Following a migration from Android 11 to Android 13 on ZEBRA model TC21 terminals, some have lost the virtual keyboard. The virtual keyboard is no longer available from any application (Chrome, system, ...). During my first production runs, 5/63 terminals had this problem. When I view the list of applications from the mobicontrol device file, I see that my failed terminals have two versions of the Gboard app: “com.google.android.inputmethod.latin” which is in the ‘uninstalled’ state “com.android.inputmethod.latin”, which is in the ‘installed’ state. Terminals that are not failed only display “com.google.android.inputmethod.latin” in the “installed” state. I have tried unsuccessfully to re-enable / re-install this bundel “com.google.android.inputmethod.latin” by several different methods (Mobicontrol / Mx). My device use Agent Mobicontrol : 2024.0.2.1131 OEM version : 13-30-12.00-TG-U04-STD-HEL-04 Any ideas?

I've tried sending intents with ''android.settings.WIFI_SETTINGS'' without luck.Thank you,
Hello, I pushed xml settings from stagenow through soti onto zebra ET60: <wap-provisioningdoc> <characteristic version="13.4" type="BatteryMgr"> <parm name="SetCriticalLowThreshold" value="10" /> <parm name="BatterySwapUIUsage" value="1" /> </characteristic> <characteristic version="13.4" type="UiMgr"> <parm name="StatusBarUsage" value="1" /> <parm name="ShowBatteryPercentage" value="1" /> </characteristic></wap-provisioningdoc> when the battery is 10% the tablet shutdowns instead of displays a pop-up. May you tell me why? regards
Can't setup work profile for multiple BYOD devices
So far we have been using devices up to A11. But we just got a Zebra ET65 to test, which comes with A13 (MX 13.2.0.32) but I cannot push the OS configurations (MX 13.1) that we previously build with StageNow, because the mxconfig script doesn't work. I've tried finding what is the new process now for A13+ but can't find anything. In StageNow should I "Export to JS"? This gives me a .txt, should I load it to the device and run a javascript? What is the script for it then? This is just a test device and I could do the barcode read, but if we move on with this model, I should be able to remote configure them.
Hello, We are currently trying to implement a mobile register on our Galaxy Tab Active 3 Enteprise Edition. For this we need to deactivate USB-Debugging and adb functionality. Normally i wouldn't see the problem in this since there is a feature control option for USB-Debugging to enable or disable this. But for us it is already disabled in the profile but it is still enabled anyways. If I disable it manually it works but after a restart it enables itself automatically. Is there a way to permanently disable the usb-debugging? thanks for the help kind regards Alex
We've got a workflow that involves an in-house Android application interacting with some USB peripherals. Android doesn't persist permissions settings for detachable USB devices, so every time the devices disconnect/reconnect, the user has to be reprompted for various access permissions to the USB devices. If we have a listing of the device VID/PIDs and the list of permissions required, can we get MobiControl to automate the granting of the permissions, so we don't have to bother the user?
Dear All, On Cipherlab RS 38 device I would like to solve that user can download pictures from device but KIOS mode should be active. How can I solve this task? Thanks information and help. Br Gábor
We have an older application in our stack (from a now defunct vendor) that, as of Android 14, cannot be installed through default channels due to a deprecated SDK version. In a local installation, the block can be bypassed with adb install --bypass-low-target-sdk-block Is there a mechanism to replicate the bypass when installing an application through MobiControl?
Hello everyone, We are currently in the process of transitioning from old to new MDUs, while simultaneously migrating the SOTI server. This process is being carried out in phases, with four out of twelve phases still to be completed. Unfortunately, the license for the old SOTI server has expired, which has resulted in a loss of access. The systems on the old MDUs are still operational. However, we are facing an issue where defective scanners that need to be replaced cannot be added to the old SOTI, as we no longer have access to the SOTI service. Extending the license is unfortunately not an option, as it is only available for a large number of devices and for an extended period, which would be unnecessary since we have capacity available on the new SOTI server. Therefore, it would be a waste of money. Our proposed solution is to temporarily integrate the old MDUs into the new SOTI server. However, this requires the devices to be unenrolled from the old SOTI before they can be re-enrolled in the new system. The unenrollment process can be done through various methods, but each method requires access to the old SOTI server, which is currently unavailable to us. Is there a way to unenroll or reset the old devices without needing access to the SOTI service? We do have access to the Windows server. The MDUs are in Kiosk mode, which prevents a factory reset. This means that the Kiosk mode profile would need to be revoked from the MDU first. Do you know of any way to accomplish this? Thank you in advance for your help! Best regards
I have one device, that is enrolled with profile X. Profile X has just two configurations. First one is an "App Run Control" whitelist configuration with just one app whitelisted. And this is my app with com.my.app package. The second configuration is of course the app with com.my.app package itself. And my problem is that the app is not being installed and I get this issue on device: Package "com.my.app" version 1.0.0 failed to install. File IO error on device. Check Storage/Permissions. But when I remove the "App Run Control" configuration from the profile, the app is being installed without any problem. I verified the package names in profile configuration and everything is fine. It's even selected with SOTI MobiControl autocomplete. Option "Force Package Reinstallation" or revoking and reinstalling the profile doesn't work either. My device is Zebra TC78 with Android 11. The MobiControl agent is 2024.1.6 Build 1140. What am I doing wrong? Also, a similar thing is happening when I try to download "Android debug" logs. File with just this content is downloaded: PKError retrieving agent log. Server reported error: The operation has timed out. No matter if the "Android Run Control" is enabled or not.
