Hello Dear SOTI Users, I have two questions for you: 1️⃣ Is it possible to stop a running application on a device via a script from the console?I tried the kill and stop packagename commands, but they didn’t work.Is there a correct method or an alternative command for this? 2️⃣ There are about 1,300 Samsung devices registered in the console, and kiosk mode is not enabled on them. We’ve allowed users to uninstall certain apps (in some cases, this is necessary). However, when users uninstall the app, they often don’t reinstall it afterward. Is there any setting or mechanism in MobiControl that can automatically check which apps should be installed on the device and reinstall any missing ones? I know this is a bit of an unusual request, but maybe someone has faced a similar scenario 😊 Thank you!
Hi everyone, 👋 I’m currently working on optimizing our setup in SOTI MobiControl and was wondering if there’s a way to assign or limit custom attributes to specific device groups only. The reason behind this is that we only need certain attributes for certain groups, and having all attributes visible for every device quickly becomes confusing and cluttered in the console. Is there any way to manage visibility or scope of custom attributes per group — or perhaps a best practice to keep things organized when working with many attributes? Any advice, ideas, or experiences would be greatly appreciated! 🙏 Best regards,Fabian
Hi, as per the subject: We are using version 2024.1.2.1046 of Mobicontrol.I created a profile to add a pre-configured corporate Wi-Fi network to be assigned to two classes of devices. In the first class, the user cannot see the Wi-Fi settings; the device connects exclusively to the corporate Wi-Fi network. In the second class, the user can connect the device to any Wi-Fi network, but the corporate network is also listed and cannot be modified or viewed in terms of parameters. On Samsung Knox devices running Android versions older than 14, I have no issues using OEMConfig → Samsung. On newer devices, however, the profile is not applied. I install the latest "Knox Service Plugin" on all devices, currently version 1.5.37 (25.09). I still find it strange that under Profiles → Configurations → Connectivity → Wi-Fi, there is no "Skip Mac Randomization" option like in the Samsung plugin. How can I resolve this issue?
Hi everyone, We’re currently in an advanced phase of our SOTI project and are working on implementing dynamic URLs. The goal is to avoid creating a separate profile for each device and instead use custom attributes to achieve a more flexible setup. During my research, I came across and implemented the following documentation:👉 Dynamic URLs in SOTI Surf The StoreNumber example perfectly matches our use case. However, in our case, the custom attribute does not seem to resolve properly in SOTI Surf. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or found a solution for this?I’d really appreciate any insights or suggestions! 🙏 Best regards,Fabian
Hello all, this might be of interest to a broader audience... " The Google Android™ Enterprise team is aware that Android GMS devices may be configured to reduce the time taken to complete the Google setup wizard when provisioning a large fleet of Android Enterprise devices. By skipping the Google setup screens, end users of the Android Enterprise devices may not have had the opportunity to individually review, accept, and/or acknowledge important notices, terms, and controls governing their use of Google services on the device; such as Google's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and the collection of usage and diagnostic data (which is initially enabled in setup). Per Google, this situation would also potentially violate the agreements between Google and all OEMs, such as Google Mobile Services (GMS) requirements."
Hi, I need to deploy a large fleet of Samsung tablets, and in my company these devices must be configured with static IP addresses. I’m used to working with Zebra and Honeywell devices, where setting a static IP is quite straightforward. I expected to be able to do the same on Samsung devices using Knox Service Plugin (KSP) via the OEMConfig profile, but after reviewing the available payload in MobiControl version 2025.1.0.1007, I can’t find any option to define a static IP, gateway, DNS, and so on. Does anyone know if it’s possible to configure a static IP on Samsung devices through SOTI (KSP or otherwise) without doing it manually on each device? Thanks in advance.
We have an app, which is placed in the lockdown, but won't start. When I open it, out of the lockdown I get this message first. Is there a way to prevent this message by a script when the app is distributed? Device is a Datalogic Memor 12 with Android 13
I need to set up users at certain location so that they can view just the devices at their warehouses, how do i do that?
Hi, When we are trying to enroll our device, we keep getting the error below which isn't allowing us to complete the enrollment. Is anyone able to help?
Hi, Looking for other customers that also use Zscaler Client Connector that used User Certs. We're thinking that we need a user cert per device in addition to or instead of the device certificate. If you did it, how did you do it? Thanks!
Hi, We have an APK installed on several Zebra devices. The purpose of the APK is to receive nurse call alarms to the Zebra device. When the Zebra device is asleep (phone completely black), the alarms do not break through and wake the device. Is there a package script that I can use for battery optimization? I know you can "white list" an application, ie batteryoptimize disable com.microsoft.office.outlook. Can I do something like that at the package level? Thanks!
Hello, we have updated our smartphones from Android 14 to Android 16 with the new Samsung One UI 8.0. Now it is no longer possible to access admin mode, as nothing happens when you press and hold the back button. Admin mode can now only be accessed via the Soto Mobicontrol Center. Google has assigned a new function (preview) to the Back button in Android 16 when you press and hold it. This means that the previous function of SOTi no longer works. We need a workaround in the Soti app because we cannot access Admin mode without the company Wi-Fi. Best regard
In our environment, we are using an app policy to share Micorosft Edge to our devices. It is used to access one website only, so we have enabled Managed App Config for the app. Since it's only used to access one site, we have blocked all the other site with blackist using *. So far, we have only needed one site on whitelist, so there was no need to think about this further. Now we need to allow access to two different sites, but I can't find the correct syntax to write to the Allowed URLs textbox. How should I do this to enable access to both sites needed? I have tried mutiple ways, such as: www.site1.com, www.site2.com www.site1.com; www.site2.com www.site1.com&www.site2.com None of those have worked, all sites will be blocked if I use those.
