If I install an Android application (Owncloud) via SOTI Mobicontrol from the managed Play Store and later try to run it, the app will not be usable—I only receive the following message: 'Blocked by your IT admin.' No additional restrictions have been set (e.g., application run control or feature control...). If I run the same Android app on a managed device without SOTI Mobicontrol, it works fine. Parameters: Device type: Android Enterprise Device family: Android Plus OS version: Android 12 Android status: Provisioned / Enabled with managed Google Play accounts Management type: Work-managed device What can cause the application to run?

Hi All, I'm trying to enroll the ELO backpack ES00I4 running Android 10 in SOTI Mobicontrol.Manually installing the MobiControl and using the enrollment ID results in setting up the ELO device as "work profile". But I want to enroll the device as "work managed".I also tried creating a QR code, but it seems that the Elo backpack doesn't support enrollment through QR code I can't seem to figure out how to enroll this device. Anybody experience with this?
We are converting all of our zebra devices to SOTI from Intune (yay). We have setup a lock screen and authentication. During the install we keep getting requests for the user to allow MobiControl some permissions. Modify System Settings Device & app notifications In order to do this, the user would have to exit the lock screen, which would require the admin password, which sort of defeats the entire purpose of the lock screen. Many of our warehouses do not have any local IT support so we are stuck enrolling devices only when a remote SOTI admin is handy. There is a script command 'afw_set_permission_policy grant' which seems to work. However it is always the last thing to be installed and only after someone has intervened and set the above permissions. Is there a way around this? Can the script be set someone to be the first thing installed, or another way to eliminate these permissions to be required? Thanks.
Hi all, When I create new Configuration at Profiles, I have all different kind of options. Almost all of the device functionalities can be adjusted, but I cant find anything regarding NFC. I want to enable NFC all the time. Disabling it should not be allowed. I am using a worked managed Android device. Thanks in advance Ümmet
Hello, I have a problem. During work, the Mobicontrol app pops up at certain intervals for our coworkers, and this disturbs them. Is there a way to hide it or make it appear less frequently throughout the day?
Customers created a QR code enrollment and sent them to the end user. They then requested the user to enroll the device but they reported that the usercan't scan the QR code. The user said that after tapping the welcome screens 7 times, the QR Code screen is not showing up on the device itself. Details of the device are below:Make and Model: Zebra MC9300 Android version: 10 MobiControl version: 2024.1.2 The customer normally deliver one brand new Zebra MC9300 together with the SOTI enrollment QR code to the end user. User will then open the box, scan the QR code and the device will be enrolled automatically. Hi everyone, I am using a SunMi V2s with GMS. As soon as I do a SOTI enrollment all of the internal SunMi functions seem blocked. (or the necessary apps are not installed automatically) The scan buttons dont react. And the printer test app is missing. Is there a configuration or setting to enable this function again? thanks in advance Ümmet
Does anyone know how the SOTI Windows Modern generates its Unique Device ID? I have a case with a setup based build of a Windows 11 machine, imaged it and deployed it onto other machines. But when I install the MobiControl ppkg it installs the first one correctly, the second one overwrites the first one with 1 number up in MobiControl webconsole, and so on. So it doesn't see the new added machines as new machines, sees the same DeviceID for all machines. Does see the unique Factory SN and the unique MAC adress, that changes everytime I enroll a new machine. The Device ID is server generated, so going into regedit and manually set a different ID doesn't work. Also tried using SIDCHG to generate first a different SID for Windows, and the user in Windows. That didn't solve it either. So where does it get its Unique Device ID?? Allready contacted Tier 2 support, but they don't know either.
Hello. We started to test the shared device configuration for some of our devices and we face some issues. What works so far: - Integration with intune an intune app protection policies are ok. - Added Entra ID in Directory for MS Single Sign-on - MS Authenticator configured for Shared device mode - Devices are registred on Entra - MS Apps are working fine What's not working: Due to Conditional Access policies, we can't use Chrome to login on some internal websites which require MS work account (only MS Edge browser). We use Webapps pushed via Playstore for some our internal applications (some require work account to login, some don't). By default these apps are running in Chrome. As a workaround i tried to push MS Edge browser (configured as Kiosk) and disable chrome with Application Run Control. This way the webapps are launched in Edge. But the problem is that if i launch for example app 1, then launch app2, when i return to app1 i start from main screen. (When using Chrome, and having Launchwithrecents argument in Lockdown profile, you can switch between apps (they run like standalone apps) As a workaround for now i tried to leave chrome enabled, configured Edge as default browser, and add the apps that require ms work account on kiosk to launch with browsers:// url of app (this way it will open with edge). The webapps that not require ms work accounts are launched with "launchwithrecents://com.google.enterprise.webapp.xxxx (from playstore). Is there a workaround to setup Edge as "system-browser"? I know in intune this is done by default (have tested devices enrolled with work profile or fully mananged, and if Edge is pushed as required app all webapps deployed to that device will run in Edge. If i register the device with user account then we can get this to work if we enable Browser access in MS Authenticator App (no need to use Edge in this case since device-id and registration is sent to Entra). This option is not available if the MS Authenticator is configured for shared device mode.
Hi all, we are currently enrolling samsung devices A06 OS 14 and only allow whatsapp on the device. We would like to restrict linked device feature in whatsapp so user can't using whatsapp web. Is there any way to do this? Thinking about blocking camera access specifically for whatsapp, we used Script on OS 10 devices and it's work (linked devices can't open the camera), but it not working on OS 14. Hope anyone has any idea how to solve this requirement. Thank you
after pushing an application update it happens that a pda doesn't update. instead of manually going through all the pda's to verify the version number of the application i thought i'd use the search function in MobiControl if i search by application name i get all pda's with the application installed. but when i use: name = appname and version = 4.1.32 i no longer get any result back. am i doing something wrong?
