U cant differentiate agent upgrade settings for device classes anymore. So when changing the agent update settings for example "allow only when connected to lan" it gets changed for all device types (android, windows mobile 6.5 etc.). Can some1 crosscheck this with their environment? Kind Regards
I´m working with android enterprise in honeywell devices, such as eda71 and eda51, i enabled the kiosk mode and it is working fine in device owner mode, but i want to disable the status bar expansion because if not, the users can turn off the wifi or change other settings, but i need to see the status bar to check the signal and battery status, in android+ this function it´s shown in lockdown settings, but with enterprise configuration i only see status bar in activity supression. Hell all, we have mobicontrol in version 13.3.0.3454 We have a lot of device in zebra TC75X with android 6 and 7. the client mobicontrol is on version 13.3.2 build 1014 actually, we migrate all url we call in http to https. i can install the certificate on the device without problem all works fine. I would like to know if some people has experience with certificate. Is it better to add the certificate in a separate profile or it's better to add the certificate in the main profile (where authentifcation kiosk is added) ? Actually, for testing i have created a separate profile who contains just the certificate I have a main profile where i have (bookmark, kiosk, …) and so on. I can install all, remove all, all seems to work but i would like to have some advice or suggestion. thanks for sharing your knowledge
Hello all, we work with mobicontrol on version v13.3.0.3454 I have a lot of device -> Zebra TC75 (android 6 and 7) with the client version v13.3.2 build 1014 it's android + enrollement For some reason, i need to install the keyboard zebra. For this, i have done a rules who execute a mxconfig file -> that's work fine i just schedule the job. I would like to execute this rule when a device is add to a folder. How i can do this ? thanks
Hello, We have Lenovo devices so the user may not display any notifications. Apps are blocked, but still notifications are popping up. writesecuresetting -sec lock_screen_allow_private_notifications 0 writesecuresetting -sec lock_screen_show_notifications 0 But I assume this command is only for Samsung. Is there also one for a Lenovo Tab 3 10? As well I tried to set a background/lock screen image in SOTI MobiControl 14.4.1 (via advanced option) but this doesn't work at all. Does somebody have any idea how to change this? Thank you for your comments
Hello, I am testing the kiosk mode for an android terminal +, everything seems to work well apart from one thing. I can not leave the kiosk mode from the terminal. Let me explain, when I'm on my kiosk I keep pressing the return key and type my password, the kiosk is unlocked but 3 or 4 seconds later the kiosk mode relaunches itself. We updated a configuration on one of our Google Managed Play apps in the MobiControl app catalog and yet the app has not updated on the device. The app is set as a mandatory app. From my findings the app should update automatically but the app does not show to update. We are using a Zebra TC57 with OS 8.1.0. MobiControl v. 14.4.2. The devices are AEOD in kiosk mode preventing user interaction.
Hello, We have around 350 Android+ handheld devices that we configure for lockdown using a custom HTML kiosk. It works well but we have an issue where we can't push any updates to the devices over cellular. If the profile is altered in any way (package update, kiosk code update, even a setting option change) the devices on cellular simply minimize the kiosk and remove the lockdown, effectively opening up the device. This happens even when we have the device group enabled to update over wifi, cellular, and cellular while roaming. What would be some things I can check to make sure we have this configured correctly? Only being able to update over wifi is very inconvenient when managing so many devices. Thanks!

For our team, this is the first time we will update the version. Actually i read the technical documentation of each release. Hi I have created custom attributes in the Global Settings / Manage Custom Attributes. I'm able to assign custom attribute value to a device group but not to a device. I use a version 14.3.3 of MC. The help says : To assign a custom attribute value to a device: Click a device name to open its Device Information panel. On the Device Details tab, scroll to the Custom Attributes section. Click the pencil icon to turn on custom attribute editing. Enter a value for the custom attribute you want to apply to this device. Click Save to apply the new custom attribute value. Values for custom attributes are visible in the Device Information panel. You can edit the values at any point, following the same steps. I don't have any Custom Attributes section in the Device Details tab. I have : COMPLIANCE / DEVICE DETAILS / CELLULAR DETAILS / DEVICE STATUSES / USER DETAILS / HARDWARE DETAILS / ANTIVIRUS / ANDROID ENTERPRISE Am I missing something ? Thank you.
Hello everyone, I encounter some issue (as some of you I have seen!) regarding the deployment of an APK on a AEDO device. The profile stay in a "Install Failed" status (Failed to Install (File I/O Error)). On the device I have the following message from the Google Play Protect : If I click on "INSTALL ANYWAY" the app is correctly installed. If I deploy a FC profile with the "Disable verivy apps enforcement" feature : I am able to manually disable the GPP Scan : This is the same thing / result as if I sent the following script on the device : writesecureprofstring DeviceFeature DisableVerifyApps 1apply featurecontrol If I manually disable the "Scan device for security threats" option, I can deploy my APK via my profile without any problems. Also, I am able to install my APK directly on the device from a USB driver for example. Question : Is there a way to disable the "Scan device for security threats" with a script or a trick ? For now, the solution is to blacklist Google Play via an App run control profile. But I use a managed Google Play store and I need Google Play on the device... The complete solution would therefore be : 1/ Deploy App Run Control profile 2/ Deploy APK 3/ Revoke App Run Control profile Quite tedious.... Thank you !
Hi, A customer of ours is using an application that is downloaded from the Google Play Store through the Application Catalog. When the application has a new version, the developers are making use of the in-app update API where it prompts the user the update the application now or wait until later. The problem is that if the user presses the update button, they are taken to the Google Play Store where they can download any application they want. I can't blacklist the Play Store as we do want the applications to auto update when the Play Store does so, I just need to be able to stop the application presenting the prompt. I've done some research and I don't think it's possible to suppress this or block it completely but if anyone can suggest anything to try I'd appreciate the help. Thanks Josh.
