We continue to see an error message of "Invalid Credentials" when trying to log in to our MobiControl server. When the user clicks on the Log In button a second time, access is invariably granted. The error logs show: Our on-prem server is not linked to the SOTI Cloud. I have checked our LDAP server connections which verify the user credentials and nothing seems to be amiss. Any ideas what is causing these errors?
Hello all, I was looking to enroll a test device (CT60) in SOTI with A12 but it looks like with this final step from the Honeywell Device Provisioning: Set device owner : net.soti.mobicontrol.androidwork/net.soti.mobicontrol.admin.DeviceAdminAdapter I get an error message: "Can't set up device" and that's it... It's a new thing for sure, everything is okay with A10. I will appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
I hope s.o. can help me in this case. We have Soti Mobicontrol as cloud service and want to provide iOS tablets in kiosk mode with only a few apps which are available for the user. Therefore we want to create a custom home screen layout with only the necessary apps. In the documentation from soti https://soti.net/mc/help/v15.6/en/console/configurations/profiles/configurations/categories/other/ios_home_screen_config.html we found the solution. Our problem is that the necesarry option is not displayed. Here is a picture from "other" in our Soti console. The important option Home Screen Layout is missing in our system. Please give me a hint how we could enable this option.
our customer need to block disabling mobile data for users. so i disable devise settings. but still the users can disable data using status bar. is there any possibility to disable or hide mobile data icon ? without lock down mode.
When enrolling a device for the first time, I’m expecting Google Play Managed apps to be pushed to the device immediately. I have 4 apps set to high priority, and also have them set in the profile to the assigned devices. Lastly, they are set to mandatory. As an example, I have had a device enrolled for 2 hours and the apps haven’t pushed yet. I have seen some posts on here saying it’s really up to Google. I don’t believe so and here’s why. I am currently using Samsung Knox Manage as MDM for over 150 devices. I’ve used Knox manage for almost a year. When I enroll a device, the apps have always pushed immediately - within minutes, a few times I’ve seen it take up to 30 minutes but that’s even rare. I also trialed Hexnode and guess what, apps pushed immediately. Based on this, I’d say it’s a Soti issue. Overall I like Soti way better than Knox Manage, and has way more features than Hexnode. So what can we do to make these apps install faster?
Hi, I've been asked to make sure that our Zebra devices always have the highest LifeGuard security updates installed.Unfortunately, some of our devices are seasonally used devices. Some are also in continuous use.Now Zebra has full updates and then delta updates.I would like to have the updates done with a FileSync at the weekend, maybe with the help of the task scheduler. How do you distribute the updates? I would need the following functionality somehow:If "OEM Version" < Full Update then install Full Updateif "OEM Version" < Delta 1 Update then Install Delta 1".if "OEm Version" < Delta 2 Update then Install Delta 2".and so on.Unfortunately, we will have very different versions as the systems gradually report in. But something like "if" does not seem to work with the legacy Scripting. With JavaScript I currently dont see the option to get the information from "OEM Version" How could I best solve this? I would then build in another IF query for each upcoming version until a new full update comes along at some point.
I was wondering if there is any way to schedule a lockdown with just a message that the device is offline due to application maintenance. We have a monthly maintenance window where users should not be using the handheld device for a window in time and would like to have some way to lock the user from using it. Thanks
We send android mobile devices out to users for deployment in their facilities. The devices are locked down to limit the user to only selected applications including the SOTI Settings app for managing their connections to WiFi. We have a user site that requires the device to use a static IP address and do not do assignment of static IPs by MAC address from their DHCP server, but have the network IP config set manually for any devices that connect to their network. I am not able to find any way in the SOTI settings app to allow the user to manually set network info like IP address, is there a path for this that I am missing?
We are currently unable to see Google Chrome managed configurations which is affecting our ability to manage a number of consoles. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? It appears any previously set configs are still being picked up by devices, we are just unable to edit them. I am aware other MDMs are still displaying the managed config, and seems to be isolated to MobiControl at the moment. This is happening across various versions of the Web Console.
How do you allow Apple Wallet in the Apple Policy on Soti MobiControl so users can use Wallet on their managed device?
On Android devices what are the consequences of setting Allow Account Creation to "ALL" which includes Google Accounts, for our company managed devices, bearing in mind the business needs to manage available Apps?
The play store layout is controlled by application rule in Mobicontrol 14.8. After upgrade 15.6, the play store layout was changed to show all apps and now separated by app policies. How to set the play store layout?
BackgroundAs I've previously alluded to here https://discussions.soti.net/thread/soti-surf-send-a-url-in-a-script-1-1 I have some specific requirements when it comes to distributing OS update .zip files to several hundred Honeywell devices. In the context of the following paragraphs, points 4 and 5 from my previous discussion are important. Here they are again: "4. The download must take place overnight and, ideally be windowed so that I can stop it without having to take down the [connection to the] server, should it overrun. Manually stopping a download is not ideal but is accpetable.5. In some areas, our WiFi network suffers intermittent connectivity / packet loss meaning downloads may need to resume / restart." The current challenge I am now in a position where I need to deploy a smaller incremental update to the devices (216MB) and have been experimenting with uploading the file to our MobiControl cloud instance and testing a file sync rule. The file sync is working well but doesn't cater for windowed downloads - that is to say "download between 12:30am and 4:30am only", for example. I believe I can solve this problem with some Javascipt setting an integer value in an ini file on the device - the integer defining whether the time window is open or closed. Then back in MobiControl's web UI I can use a filter group, based on the custom data from the .ini file defining "window open" as the target of a file sync rule. However, the above does make me wonder about the resilience of a profile with package payload in terms of restarting incomplete downloads. The windowing functionality is easy to set in the profile's assign options but will MobiControl manage a failed download which was embedded within a package? Is there a good reason to carry on developing my Javascript or should I switch to the profile-based approach? Previous advice suggests that the file sync is robust but if the profile&package option is equally as robust it makes my window requirement very easy to impliment.
Good Afternoon. We have a system update policy in place on our Samsung devices. I have gone into the profile and extended the policy another 90 days. However, 76 devices are showing "Install failed" Is there a way to retry this without revoking the entire profile? We use only 1 profile that includes a simple kiosk screen and our configurations.
Attempting to configure a profile to access an internal website. When utilizing SOTI Surf the page background appears to load for a split second and then is replaced by a black screen with a white spinning circle as if its trying to load something. Other browsers (Chrome, Edge) have loaded without issue.
