We are currently unable to see Google Chrome managed configurations which is affecting our ability to manage a number of consoles. Is anyone experiencing the same issue? It appears any previously set configs are still being picked up by devices, we are just unable to edit them. I am aware other MDMs are still displaying the managed config, and seems to be isolated to MobiControl at the moment. This is happening across various versions of the Web Console.
How do you allow Apple Wallet in the Apple Policy on Soti MobiControl so users can use Wallet on their managed device?
On Android devices what are the consequences of setting Allow Account Creation to "ALL" which includes Google Accounts, for our company managed devices, bearing in mind the business needs to manage available Apps?
The play store layout is controlled by application rule in Mobicontrol 14.8. After upgrade 15.6, the play store layout was changed to show all apps and now separated by app policies. How to set the play store layout?
BackgroundAs I've previously alluded to here https://discussions.soti.net/thread/soti-surf-send-a-url-in-a-script-1-1 I have some specific requirements when it comes to distributing OS update .zip files to several hundred Honeywell devices. In the context of the following paragraphs, points 4 and 5 from my previous discussion are important. Here they are again: "4. The download must take place overnight and, ideally be windowed so that I can stop it without having to take down the [connection to the] server, should it overrun. Manually stopping a download is not ideal but is accpetable.5. In some areas, our WiFi network suffers intermittent connectivity / packet loss meaning downloads may need to resume / restart." The current challenge I am now in a position where I need to deploy a smaller incremental update to the devices (216MB) and have been experimenting with uploading the file to our MobiControl cloud instance and testing a file sync rule. The file sync is working well but doesn't cater for windowed downloads - that is to say "download between 12:30am and 4:30am only", for example. I believe I can solve this problem with some Javascipt setting an integer value in an ini file on the device - the integer defining whether the time window is open or closed. Then back in MobiControl's web UI I can use a filter group, based on the custom data from the .ini file defining "window open" as the target of a file sync rule. However, the above does make me wonder about the resilience of a profile with package payload in terms of restarting incomplete downloads. The windowing functionality is easy to set in the profile's assign options but will MobiControl manage a failed download which was embedded within a package? Is there a good reason to carry on developing my Javascript or should I switch to the profile-based approach? Previous advice suggests that the file sync is robust but if the profile&package option is equally as robust it makes my window requirement very easy to impliment.
Good Afternoon. We have a system update policy in place on our Samsung devices. I have gone into the profile and extended the policy another 90 days. However, 76 devices are showing "Install failed" Is there a way to retry this without revoking the entire profile? We use only 1 profile that includes a simple kiosk screen and our configurations.
Attempting to configure a profile to access an internal website. When utilizing SOTI Surf the page background appears to load for a split second and then is replaced by a black screen with a white spinning circle as if its trying to load something. Other browsers (Chrome, Edge) have loaded without issue.
Hi. We're trying to create new groups in SOTI Mobicontrol but, after some changes in Mobicontrol, we can't understand how it works anymore. We asked SOTI Support to help us with this task but they asked us to write here. We also read some help from the following links (https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.5/en/console/users/add_usergroup.html, https://soti.net/sotiidentity/help/en/users/assign_users_to_group.html, https://soti.net/sotiidentity/help/en/users/groups/add_group.html) but they are not enough for us to understand all the process. Please help us.
We're trying to enable the serial port power on a Zebra VC8300. We have created the XML file (contents below) and applied it to the device through Mobicontrol. The file gets placed on the terminal without issue but mxconfig gives an error with no further info when trying to run it. What could we be doing wrong?
I am trying to configure Honeywell CP45 devices using .xml files on the devices themselves. Before enrolling the devices into SOTI MobiControl, the ezconfig service on the Honeywell devices would automatically read and apply the settings inside of the .xml files. Unfortunately it seems as though SOTI disables the ezconfig service. My question: Would anyone know how to re-enable the ezconfig service? Or perhaps another way to automatically trigger the reading & applying Short answer (thanks to @Rafael Schäfer): 1. Enable the ezconfig app using the following script: "enable_system_app com.honeywell.tools.ezconfig"2. Add the EZConfig app to the lockdown kiosk Thank you.
Hi, Can someone please explain the Honeywell contract model to me?We have a number of Honeywell CT60 and CT60XP devices. The CT60s are almost all still on Android 9 and I would like to update them to Android 11/12. The download page says that you need a contract to get the download. However, if I click on the Android 11 folder, for example, I can access the download without entering the contract. https://imgur.com/a/SbfDBxO At the same time, the Honeywell site ( https://sps.honeywell.com/us/en/support/blog/productivity/why-you-should-keep-ruggedized-android-devices-os-updated) says that updates are free. Here (https://support.honeywellaidc.com/s/article/How-to-access-Android-10-kernel-files-on-the), on the other hand, it says that you need a contract. Our units do not have this contract and are already 2-3 years old. Can I update them or not?Our dealer said that you have to sign an extra contract for just the Android software. But in the end, none of his customers are doing this because Honeywell can't control it. How are you dealing with this? Our central IT seems to want to buy 200 additional licences to be able to officially download the software. Cheers Maik
Hello, is there already some mechanism to apply json files (created from Zebra StageNow) the same way as it is possible with XML files with help of Soti-script command "mxconfig" ? Of course I have already tried to use mxconfig with json file....just error in log: Custom log (Mxconfig failed: /sdcard/factory11.txt) MC 15.6.3, AEDO, Zebra TC58 with A11 (OEM 11-20-08.00-RG-U01-STD-ATH-04) I know I still can use XML Files, but already preparing for the time of Android 13, there the XML files are gone. best regards Martin
Good morning, Do you know how I can get out of the kiosk with the remote legacy? As on the web remote "Enter administrator mode" : I can't find on the legacy :
Hi, I have following setup: Soti Mobicontrol: 15.5.1.1010 Zebra TC58: OEM Version 11-19-15.00-RG-U00-STD-ATH-04 Agent Version: 15.3.4.1113 I'm experiencing missing IP and MAC data fields in Dynamic Lockdown after restarting the device. Neither Lockdown nor script "notify ..." updates it. Only solution is to switch to Admin mode and then back to User mode. Anyone else experienced this?
